IndLawPub As OP said - too many things to say here make me smile thats another reason to smile i "just" love being out and about in public - strrutting my stuff  , going into a "regular" size stall at a public bathroom and using a "regular" size changing room I also enjoying my newfounded sex life  DH really enjoys it too  growth of my self-confidence life gets better and better that fact puts a big smile on me too kathy
  5. Weight loss slowed? Make sure you measure! Ahhhhh, no truer words have been said!!! you will see the difference in your body by your measurements check your breast measurements - can be very uplifting i said prior to WLS i was going to take continuous measurements - and do a blog best laid plans of mice and men never did!!! kathy
  6. amount, % of weight loss??? sometimes i think docs "might" "fudge" their #s a bit its easier to say 60% success rate - people do arrive at that #, showing the doc has been successful (just my opinion) I am at 100% weight loss 105 lb weight loss started at 235 lbs (5'3) now weigh 130 lbs GOAL i've been maintaining these past 7 months and counting til forever and a day so i guess i'm a success story/person its not like i'm bragging.................. hmmmm, i guess i am but i/we all work hard to reach our goals - and i am very happy and proud the sky is the limit with your % of weight you want to lose your new life is at your fingertips good luck to all kathy
  7. Nursebarbie those 14 lbs are only the first of many many more lbs to come off being so early PO - its quite possible you will lose those 9 lbs as a b'day present playing devils advocate - if it takes an additional week or so to attain your goal....... whats a couple of weeks in a lifetime good luck happy early b'day you will continue to look better and better year after year enjoying your healthier, happier, longer life kathy
  8. lacifer90 by the time you read this you will be closer and closer to your WLS i've always thought it was so cool when family members have the surgery together, or shortly after (fiddle) you two will always be bound together with the wonderful new life you are starting having support from a loved one - can't get much better than that ahhhhh, i can see you and your sis now walking on the beach , waves smashing hand and hand to a healthier, happier, longer life in sleeveland!!!! the trip will is very exciting, there might be a few bumps in the road, stalls - but its alllll worth it best of luck to both of you speedy recovery kathy
  9. bethnc1970 you are aces!!!!! WooHoo!!!! all your hard work this past year has paid off!!!! btw - your surgiversary was 6/29??? today is 7/8 have you been celebrating this past week with shopping or something??? (if so, you deserve it) keep up the great job!!!! kathy congrats
  10. daanagaby12 hello newbie a little bit of nerves are ok, excitement but...............i know you won't back out!!!! you've probably gone through alot, doing tests, jumping through the hoops for insurance!!!! you made the wise decision to have WLS don't second guess yourself now!!!! speedy recovery good luck kathy
  11. hopingtolose2013 sterile arrival.???.........are you bringing a baby home??? kindof i guess........... a new little baby tummy as far as you having feelings/fear of death??? you would have to stay inside 24/7 to make sure nothing happened to you "out there" all surgeries have complications things should/hopefully go without a hitch during and after WLS "from my lips to Gods ears!!!" you'll be holding and loving those girls very soon as OP said - the kids and you will be so much happier, that you have regained your health, and are able to be with them in better health good luck to you tomorrow don't be too nervous during surgery suggestion: how about closing your pretty eyes and taking a nap while the docs do their thing!! speedy recovery you are on your way to a healthier, happier, longer life with the sleeve!!!! kathy
  12. Jessie Lyons' "they" say you can't stretch your tummy (when 85% of your tummy was taken out, the stretchy part went too) this is per my surgeon and NUT - and many many many others on the board say the same thing there is an expression on the board, "just because you can, doesn't mean you should" in other words if you have found out that you are cabable of eating more - DON'T at 4.5 months i was still measuring - whatever your proper portion per your NUT tells you is what you should eat you shouldn't even be aware that you can eat more "they" say your stomach "relaxes" after a time period thats better than saying tummy stretches, cuz it doesn't only eat proper portions - then you won't have to worry that your tummy can hold more just eat amount that the NUT blessed keep up the good work/job good luck kathy
  13. Phoenix79 hi there how are you feeling 5 days PO??? so YOU are the one that married fiddleman???? guess someone had to!!!! fiddle shopping on his own, whats next????? take care of yourself Phoenix take everything slow and easy let fiddle help you - i know how much you helped him last year after WLS turn about fair play good luck to you much success being sent your way kathy
  14. MouseOnTheMile no offense taken but............please don't come on my porch while i'm in my rocking chair, taking my teeth out, and adjusting my hearing aide! there is an "age specific" site on the board 20's, 30's youngons as well as the "old fart" boards good luck bud hope all goes well with insurance kathy
  15. Reigo i used to think, "if i'm gonn eat too much of something - a Protein Bar sounds ok' full of protein right??? true, its full of protein, and if i could have one on a certain day and stop, it would be ok but i can't stop at just one!!!! i do get hooked i'm still working on it at my request 6'2 DH puts bars way up high where i can't reach them, then he'll give me one when i ask the other mid-day, i actually pulled a chair to the pantry and stood up on a chair to get the bar!!!!! NSV - i was always afraid to get up on a chair - if i fell with allllll this weight unfortunately this is not an NSV i want to repeat as OP have said - protein bars are like candy/crack do they have a special protein bar rehab place?? maybe they should - lots of us would join and get to meet other addicts kathy

  17. momo23 you won't really experience that full feeling or restriction til you start on solids when i was full - i always burped!!!! many of us have that side effect some others say they have a runny nose there is no such thing "as drinking too much" my doc jokingly said to me............. eat til i'm full, and stop 2 bites earlier congrats on being sleeved continued speedy recovery i see success in your future good luck kathy
  18. babsvt after WLS i did the following i always drank as much as possible i was on clear liquids the first week then full liquids soft foods solids i was not told to do a mush/pureed' stage but as you pointed out - always follow what your NUT or doc tells you (unless they tell you to jump off the empire state building ) surgery being next week, going to a foreign country its understandable to have nerves/stress come to a peak keep coming back to the board with your questions, read responses good luck speedy recovery you are on your way to a new healthier, happier, longer life kathy

  21. 4MEL21 All surgeons, NUTS are different remember through your journey that NUTS may give different directions eat this, can't eat that, do this - not that oher people will tell what their NUT says - you MUST follow only your NUT or surgeons directions/instruction I saw my surgeon and NUT 2 weeks post op the next month i saw doc and NUT saw the nurse and NUT once a month til I was at 6 month WLS NUT was great!!!!! whenever i had a question - i would call her or email she always got back to me the same day then i saw my NUT in 3 month intervals had appt with nurse at 6 months at one year saw nurse & NUT around 12/15/13 i will see doc and NUT - this will be 2 year post WLS was at goal by my 1 year mark (proud to say i lost 105 lbs ) continueing to maintain these past 7 months follow the rules of the sleeve all Water rules - eat slowly, chew thoroughly to name a couple good luck on your voyage to a healthier, happier, longer life kathy
