  1. RJ'Beginning hi there you HAVE gone through so much - enough is enough!!!! Thats it, no more sending healing thoughts things willlll get better from my lips to gods ears take care guy stay strong kathy
  2. spangebabe don't hold your breath there are some OP that are 3 years+ post op (not too many) on the board also 2+ years 6 years here, on the board - 99.999999% no way i'm pretty sure there are people post op for 6+ years - just not on the board they are too busy enjoying life also, i don't believe the stats are out yet concerning the success of the sleeve longer term good luck kathy
  3. colcol its true that after you lose an amount of weight, as you get thinner - a drink might hit you like a ton of bricks all docs/NUTS have different rules one doc might tell you 6 weeks, another 6 months, another one year po great to hear responses from other people on the board for example - i think 7 weeks post op is too early to have a drink post surgery you could go around the party with a tall glass of Water witlh lemon (i know its not the same ) but............... you should always check with your doc/nut for any "official" answer to certain questions have fun good luck kathy
  4. khicks first couple of days PO can be difficult glad you "survived" them you are drinking, walking (probably talking too ) things "might" get a little rough on your trip through sleeveland, but.that is normal few bumps in the road "maybe" but you are on the road to a healthier, happier, longer life!!!! enjoy . i can see by your smiling face your determination you will do great!!!! continued speedy recovery good luck kathy good luck
  5. lady congrats on receiving that wonderful, life changing phone call One thing all us sleevers have in common, is that we're all different!!! recovery, weight loss time period, tiredness et al - we all react differently many people go back to work very quickly, they feel fine as mentioned above -- other people need more time to recuperate as someone else suggested, request more time off than you might need if you feel fine - go back to work maybe starting with 1/2 day for a week if you are tired, little pain - stay home and rest!!!!! good luck with WLS speedy recovery kathy
  6. npwomen TwimsMama gave a good answer but................ if you are addressing me, just say.................... your majesty kathy
  7. Amy i see you had surgery one week ago today (8/1/13) how did it go???? hope things are moving along with out many problems having basic issues like gas, "alittle" vomitting, problems drinking Water - and being a little sore are all common i wouldn't count them as "complications" even though they make you feel bad - side effect from WLS - things hopefully will smooth out sooner than later ups and downs are to be expected - but you are on the road to a healthier, happier, longer life!!! since you started this thread with your understandable concerns - hope you reply telling us things are going well speedy recovery good luck kathy
  8. ebonisekim 106 lbs down - terrific!!!! At 5'3 - i'm definitely looking "UP" to you at your "new" height!!! great pics!!! keep up the good work kathy congrats
  9. linda305 mmmmany people on the board had/have problems getting pregnant i often hear that losing weight helped alot of people get pregnant actually some got pregnant, and they weren't planning / "expecting" too good luck kathy
  10. fancy that is weird i agree with mokee that it usually works the other way around BUT......... maybe you shouldn't weigh yourself 2X a day??? the weight fluctuations can you/ will make you crazy!!! I do weigh myself daily - many OP don't like/suggest that!!! I say, "oh well, i'm gonna do it anyways!!! ) but of course i still love them good luck kathy
  11. tinytears sorry you are feeling more hungry now and want to eat more i had issues too feeling more hungry - but we gotta stop that you don't show a ticker or profile (hint, hint) don't know if you are at goal or close but............its not easy, but try not to give into those hunger pangs remember - this eating, drinking stuff is for the rest of your life!!!! i'm sure you will get things under control good luck kathy
  12. Mrs. RRn down 41 lbs thats terrific we love all those health improvements - showing the benefits from the sleeve I always knew you were all heart keep up the great job i see many more NSV's in the near future kathy congrats
  13. inarakatra please don't cry here is a tissue!!! many of us goof before WLS and overeat - it IS a crime, but not a life sentence i agree that NUT/surgeon want to see that you are really committed to the procedure, and "after" life you must reassure them that you are ready - more importantly reassure yourself that you are ready and anxious to start they will/hopefully give you another chance if you are supposed to drink only liquids - do it!!!! most of us have there done that!!! you've got a long road ahead of you - ups and downs to reach goal but............it doesn't stop there for the rest of your life you must eat and drink properly, follow all the rules - thats the name of the game to stay a winner i can see the determination in your face that you are ready and eager to start your healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy
  14. dubwilson woohoo, goal as far as bells and whistles, i thought i DID hear something earlier i love everything you wrote!!!! sounds like you appreciated where you've been, the journey towards success but you realize...........the hard work is just beginning!!!! i know you will do great though, since you are so aware of the "situation" continueing your journey with all the proper eating, drinking et al that you've already learned you are lookin great i always knew you were a smart cookie keep up the good work kathy congrats
  15. momofsix sorry you and DH are having issues/problems posting on the board with your question is good getting a few possible thoughts on your situation but IMO for a medical issue like this............ always call your doc good luck kathy
  16. teeniesleeve10 as nicely as i can say ..... at 22 days, and not feeling terrific STOP,STOP doing Zumba or anything else that might hurt you always must listen to your body pinched nerve, shoulder muscles inflamed your body is telling you to be careful - take it easy!!!! many people have trouble drinking Water at your early stage be happy that you can drink easily drink, sip slowly (don't gulp yet) your tummy is still in the healing process be nice to "it", and "it" will be nice to you you feel you can eat more???? at 3 weeks, what are you eating?? i was on puree at 3 weeks but i know all NUTS are different whatever you have been told you can eat, great - don't overdue though you won't feel any restriction in your little tummy til you are on soft foods, but mainly once you start solids many NEWBIES are afraid they stretched their stomach - trust me you didn't - you can't many sleevers at one point or another think they won't loose any more weight hun, you just started your weight loss journey!!!! i see you will lose much more weight on the road to a healthier, happier, longer life good luck kathy
  17. Keith WooHoo WLS is over and done with hopefully/probably you came through the procedure like a trooper!!! you are in for a wonderful trip through sleeveland ups and downs, some curves in the road are to be expected but thats ok, i can see you will do great follow all the many rules drinking, when to eat, when to stop et al speedy recovery kathy
  18. Belle hi there your not alone many/most sleevers were nervous, scared prior to WLS but...........you are probably very excited too!!!! look forward to having a healthier, happier, longer life - you deserve it all follow the many "rules" that go along with surgery, then you have to continue for the rest of your life try not to worry about the egd (easier said than done ) laying bets that you will be successful with your sleeve almost forgot welcome to the neighborhood!!! good luck kathy

  20. oooops - sorry double posting here kathy
  21. Cmt7831 one thing "we" all have in common, is that we're all different i was lucky not to have any problems/pain during recovery we all heal at our own rate i'm sorry you are having pain issues good you checked with your doc and he basically said not to worry but - if it persists, i would keep in touch with the doc - maybe some pain medicine would help saying this as nicely as i can what the heck are you doing walking around at Kohl's et al?? listen to your body always - it will guide you since you are feeling poorly - please stay at home rest, rest, rest - don't go looking for sales yet soon enough you'll be buying those smaller sized clothes i hope other things are going ok??? drinking et al?? take care feel better soon good luck kathy
  22. brookiemo82 hmmmmm, i am 59 (please don't tell anyone, our secret ok?? ) My inner thighs and rear end had the most loose skin i am 20 months post op (down 105 lbs,GOAL ) and i noticed recently that my skin has firmed up ALOT!!! its true age et al has a lot to do with the skin situation but if an "old fart" like me firms up a bit, i'm sure you'll be good too!!! good luck kathy
  23. Daddysgirl10 onderland!!! party dance, party dance down 45 lbs since pre-op!!!! terrific!!!! "floating on air" - great feeling your daughter wanted to take your picture, showing the new you!!! aren't kids terrific (just like their moms ) many/most of us used to run/ hide from the camera (I did ) now, i can tell you shine in front of the lense - and your daughter is so proud of you!!! keep up the great job good luck kathy congrats
  24. mustaphr WELCOME WELCOME to sleeveland you are doing terrific not "officially" 3 months - and you've lost 52 lbs!!!! GREAT!!! there is a saying "knowing the problem is 1/2 the battle"!! (something like that) things you don't have a total grip on yet - you are working on correcting them!!!! you know you must drink more water (you are not alone with that issue - many others have that problem too ) chewing slowly - yes thats very important (vomitting is no fun ) drinking alcohol - glad that you are trying to curb that recording your food - that is great to do (but to be honest, i don't record enough ) smoking - no lecture, you know its bad for you i never smoked but i realize thats a very hard addiction to deal with - but I know you can do it, you will be successful Ok, out with the bad, in with the good you are eating properly, exercising - doing many things right Not to forget, you are losing lots of weight too!!! continue to work on fixing your "issues"/problems and you will become a healthier, happier person, looking forward to a longer life keep up the good job good luck kathy congrats
  25. jody521 great that you are able to drink so much - many people have problems drinking PO that being said................. my NUT told me i shouldn't "gulp" my Water for awhile (don't remember how long) tummy is still healing i was told to drink, sip slowly, increasing as i could - but not to gulp being able to drink so much in such a little time??? i would slow down thats just per my experience and from what MY NUT told me all NUTS say different things (thats why their so nutty!! ) take care continued speedy recovery good luck kathy
