Day 7 and my belly looks like a grape
Yes I do, its all over, its from them working down under the holes, underneath there are much larger "holes" and one in particular that your stomach had to come out of hence all the poking and proding caused bruising.

Six months out and pain in right side about a level 7
My gallbladder pain came and went. It hurt more after a meal with high fat. After about 30-45 minutes it wouldn't hurt as bad and was in the same place you are describing.

Bougie Size and recent results, questions
The Bougie sizes more commonly used now are 32, 34 and 38 French. You are reading a study published in 2008 as this is the only data with long term results. As a result of these findings doctors use a smaller bougie now. I was sleeved with a 32 French and I was up and walking that evening. I have walked daily since surgery. I have been using small weights for my arms. I cannot lift anything more than 15 lbs in 15 days and I will be cleared at one month to go back to regular full exercising.

AETNA- confused
I'd talk to the patient advocate at your surgeons office or whomever is handling your approval. You can fight it and might be worth it. I tried to fight it but it didn't work so when I landed a job with better insurance I tried again with the same letter and diagnosis and I was approved. My thought would be to sit down with the insurance coordinator or whomever is working on the approval for you and put together an appeal package. It can't hurt.

I am APPROVED!
Congrats! So exciting for you to imagine a whole new life!

need to get going
All I can say is follow your doctors orders. The reason we get sleeved is because diets haven't worked for us in the past. Preop is just that, a diet. You will still crave sweets, breads and pastas. The only advice I can give you now is to try an identify exactly why you are craving these foods is this truly a craving from within or is this because of stress or boredom, etc. Also, the drinking with meals thing you can practice, but as long as you are doing your best and following what the doctor orders you are doing well. Its much easier post-sleeve, at least for me.

Looking at the positive
With those NSV's I'm confident you will be heading toward more weight loss! It appears you are losing inches now and the scale isn't moving with it, but that will change again!
