I have mirena and love it, I gained weight initially but that was presurgery and that was from eating from hormones. Otherwise, its wonderful! Sorry never used the ring.

Glad you like it, but make sure you get some protein in too
  3. You can do what I did, because I dont have many pictures before when I was at my highest. I avoided the camera and I asked my sister in law to find pics of me even the ones I would never want in a million years. I will use them now that I am losing the weight for good
  4. No clue why, but yes mine does too.

I am only 3 weeks post op. Please reach out to my friend NtvTxn. She is 3 years post op and will have the best advice for you. She makes it a game, she measures everything! Please contact her, I do not want you to gain! We are always here for you!
  6. Absolutely amazing! Beautiful! And congrats!
  7. Yay!!! Good for you! I know its hard sometimes
  8. I had mine on the 8th and I too am in a stall! I am keeping positive, this is a chance for me to perfect what I am doing right and work on what I feel is going wrong while my body tried to figure out exactly wth I did to it! lol! Keep on going! No turning back!!!
  9. How wonderful! To dare to dream of a new life is one thing, but to actually take the courageous step toward one is tremendous! Congrats and see you on the other side!!!
  10. I set my protein intake goal at 60, my carb intake at 60, I ignore the fat grams and sugar intake. I set my calorie goal at 800, I also measure my inches and weight. For the ticker, go to your profile, edit profile, under my ticker or signature you will find a place to set it up. Your figures in your My Surgery tab will be used for the ticker on this site.
  11. Just make sure you follow all directions and give all of the information you can regarding meds and when you took them and/or stopped them and you will do great!!! Also, make sure you use the pumps on your calves and walk alot!
  12. Your stomach is smaller because it is healing and is swollen, at around 6 weeks I am told you will be able to get in about 3-4 oz if you aren't already. I'll be 4 weeks Friday and I can comfortably get in a little over 2 oz. If you seriously can only eat 2 bites I'd call the doc because that seems a bit too small.
  13. I had the same thing happen to me. I am not too worried, but if you are bleeding excessively I'd call the doc asap.
  14. I'm the same way I posted a status about how horrible I did, but I really didn't do too bad! Its just guilt, I swear! I am in a stall and I'm ok with it, week 3-4 now and I was losing so much I'm glad I'm leveling off a bit before I lose again! Good luck!
  15. I have to mention that you only qualify for FMLA if you have been there over a year. I'd wait til June! Good luck!
  16. The preparation is the most difficult part, getting insurance approval, pre-op diet and then it gets a little easier. The surgery experience itself is individual. The worst part for me was the first 24 hours, after that, day by day it got better. I learn something new about myself daily. This is much more of a mental game and your relationship with food than following a "diet". You can do it if you put your mind to it! I am happy with my decision! Good luck!
  17. From what I understand it could be from dehydration and not walking enough. Try both and see if it goes down. A fellow sleever had it too and it went away. He had his surgery the day before me.
  18. I know veteran sleevers who measure everything and don't go over 5-6 oz at each meal, but they do several small meals. Personally I am 3 weeks out and can only do 2 oz.
  19. You did get hit by a bus! They didn't tell you that happened while you were out?? lol, well it gets much better after about 5-6 days you begin to feel a little normal. I am 3 weeks out and some days are better than others with the gas and the incision pain, the one where the stomach comes out still gets me sometimes!! Pain meds, gas x, and prevacid are your friends right now, use them! Good luck!
  20. Welcome and congrats on your date and of course a healtier new year for you as your birthday approaches. Very Happy Birthday to you! It will fly by, learn as much as you can!
  21. I went through the same thing! Congrats!
