  1. It will come, just keep plowing through!
  2. Thats about when I started expressing all my gas. Gas-X strips are your friend as well as your regular antacids! It will get better, just walk more!
  3. Yes I do, its all over, its from them working down under the holes, underneath there are much larger "holes" and one in particular that your stomach had to come out of hence all the poking and proding caused bruising.
  4. My gallbladder pain came and went. It hurt more after a meal with high fat. After about 30-45 minutes it wouldn't hurt as bad and was in the same place you are describing.
  5. I'm 5 days out and have the same thing! Like Puppyphat said, we better get used to it! lol
  6. Not fun, but not worth screwing up your surgery! Be brave!
  7. I'm sorry I went on google, I didn't see the links til I came back. Here is another one I found about bougie that might help you... http://www.bmi-india.com/does-bougie-size-in-sleeve-gastrectomy-matter/
  8. What was your post op diet?
  9. The Bougie sizes more commonly used now are 32, 34 and 38 French. You are reading a study published in 2008 as this is the only data with long term results. As a result of these findings doctors use a smaller bougie now. I was sleeved with a 32 French and I was up and walking that evening. I have walked daily since surgery. I have been using small weights for my arms. I cannot lift anything more than 15 lbs in 15 days and I will be cleared at one month to go back to regular full exercising.
  10. Awesome choice and great post! Good for you! This is a huge step for you!
  11. Vanilla protein shakes are doing it to me! Horrible
  12. My surgical paperwork says its normal not to have regular periods for the first two months post op
  13. I'm 5 days and experiencing the same thing, would rather make sure I'm hydrated and I don't overdo it, but I am trying my best and that is all I can do. I will be picking up some Isopure and mixing it with Gatorade this weekend!
  14. I use the same as ChiTownGirl
  15. I did the same thing you did in January and I am 4 days post op and I've made the best decision I could. Absolutely no regrets!
  16. I'd talk to the patient advocate at your surgeons office or whomever is handling your approval. You can fight it and might be worth it. I tried to fight it but it didn't work so when I landed a job with better insurance I tried again with the same letter and diagnosis and I was approved. My thought would be to sit down with the insurance coordinator or whomever is working on the approval for you and put together an appeal package. It can't hurt.
  17. Congrats! So exciting for you to imagine a whole new life!
  18. I am on day 4 post op and it was mostly liquid! Sucked, but glad I did, I was worried about that too!
  19. Thank you, keep me posted on your progress! Good luck!
  20. My guess is low iron, what kind of vitamin are you taking??
  21. I pray that God who saw you to it, will continue to see you through it safely! You are not alone, we are all here for you!
  22. Sorry it is on the lower right of the main forum screen in the blog section or you can find it in my profile...let me see if I can link it too..http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/blog/2245-the-high-heeled-ninja-assasin/
  23. All I can say is follow your doctors orders. The reason we get sleeved is because diets haven't worked for us in the past. Preop is just that, a diet. You will still crave sweets, breads and pastas. The only advice I can give you now is to try an identify exactly why you are craving these foods is this truly a craving from within or is this because of stress or boredom, etc. Also, the drinking with meals thing you can practice, but as long as you are doing your best and following what the doctor orders you are doing well. Its much easier post-sleeve, at least for me.
  24. I just posted the blog, its a little all over the place, but its called My Personal Experiment! Good luck to you!! You will do awesome!
  25. With those NSV's I'm confident you will be heading toward more weight loss! It appears you are losing inches now and the scale isn't moving with it, but that will change again!
