I am just over 2 months out and I went out last week and had a few drinks it was a completely different experience then before my sleeve but did not drastically change anything. I was and am fine as long as you are smart about it you should be fine!!!

Am I Wrong? :/
Thank you all! I know they love me and want the best for me and that's what prevents me from getting angry with them...I'm just glad there are people who know to some degree of what I'm going through. Like I said in no way have I become an alcoholic... I don't like to be drunk very much, I just am enjoying being able to order a drink or go to a liquor store... I'm not going to be able to experience 21 like the rest of my friends and I have accepted that long before I had my surgery. I knew what I was giving up. But in comparison I am gaining so much more!!!! The almost 50 lbs I have lost has made me feel do much more myself... The self I have always been underneath and I wouldn't change my sleeve for the world!!!

Am I Wrong? :/
First of all I want to say how unbelievably supportive everyone on here is. No matter what I think I am going through alone I can get on here and realize I'm not!!! Secondly, have any of you noticed how people whom you have told about the surgery judge extremely harshly? My immediate family whom I love very much and have actually been supportive throughout the whole thing have started judging me. A few days ago it was my 21st birthday so of course I went out and ha a few drinks, I didn't get drunk or sick or anything just had a few and now they keep telling how if I'm goingto be that irresponsible then it was pointless to get the surgery... Keep in mind I had surgery July 9 (almost 2 months out) and down 45 lbs!!! I feel great and I'm sticking to everything just have had some drinks.... Low calorie ones at that!!! I just don't understand how they can think they know my new stomach more then I do.... Have any of you experienced anything like this? I just don't know how to talk to them and get them to understand.

"all Things In Moderation"?
I am only 2 weeks out but I feel like this is the most logical choice. And I'm glad to have found someone who did it! Others have just told me that it won't work this way but I feel like depriving myself would make it worse for me rather then a bite here and there.

Dating
This is also a concern for me. People just dont understand all the time. And your completely right its not something I want to share right away! I just hope that guys can be as understanding as I want them to be!!

Happening So Quickly
It has taken me longer then a year to have reached this point but i am finally less then 2 weeks away from surgery. I am so excited and can't wait for it to be here already but I am also scared for everything. Maybe I am just overreacting to the anxiety of it all and the actualization of it all happening. i am just wanting to know how everyone else felt and how you are feeling now and what I should expect... this forum is just so wonderful and you all provide such an amazing support i am so grateful!

New To Forum
I have BCBS TX and I had to do the 6 month diet. No one knew that and I had all my other requirements done in December then this... Now I'm looking at a July surgery but oh we'll! Yes start your 6 month diet now!! Cuz it really is 7 visits because the first is considered a 'consult' it's not so bad though just go in for ten minutes an talk about it but yes don't mention anything in the appointments that you think might even have a chance at derailing your train!!!! Good luck!

Dreams To Reality!
Hey all, I have been a part of this board for a while now and never really posted because none of it has felt real. I first started looking into this last summer and began the process but somehow my doctors overlooked the 6 month weight management so I was all psyched to get it in december then through no fault of mine it was yanked.... Thus began so far the longest 6 months of my life. Yesterday I met with my surgeon and started talking about dates and it all hit me. This is really going to happen. I have stuck with it and am making my dreams a reality. Everyone on here is what has kept me so positive so thank you to everyone!!!! What I really wanted to know through this post is what are the best pieces of advice would you give to some one? Such as what to expect and what has been the biggest changes in your life and if you think 20 years old is too young.... Thanks!

young and sleeveless....
You all have been so helpful!!! I have watched a couple of seminars online because I don't live near a center but from what the seminars say they just make me want this more. I have been overweight my whole life, since i was a toddler. Knowing my family and myself I know it won't get better all by itself. I have tried so many different things and I have never been able to lose more then 5-10 lbs and never been able to keep it off. I am ready for all the lifestyle changes that this will bring me. I know life will change and that is what I need. Something has to change, otherwise I'll just get worse, and I want to enjoy my younger years as well as my older ones by being healthy and happy. I am going to try and be approved here in the next couple weeks and schedule an appointment in denver to try and get this thing going. Thanks again!! I'll keep you updated.
