  2. I have super curly yet thin hair an have spent alot of time and money trying to find the best product and although it is kind of expensive DevaCurl is the best that you will find! Especially when you use the whole system! My hair has never looked or felt better!!!! So soft and beautiful curls!!! I get Compliments all the time!!!
  3. Sleeved July 9 and have lost 65lbs!!! Couldn't be happier!!!
  4. I am just over 2 months out and I went out last week and had a few drinks it was a completely different experience then before my sleeve but did not drastically change anything. I was and am fine as long as you are smart about it you should be fine!!!
  5. Thank you all! I know they love me and want the best for me and that's what prevents me from getting angry with them...I'm just glad there are people who know to some degree of what I'm going through. Like I said in no way have I become an alcoholic... I don't like to be drunk very much, I just am enjoying being able to order a drink or go to a liquor store... I'm not going to be able to experience 21 like the rest of my friends and I have accepted that long before I had my surgery. I knew what I was giving up. But in comparison I am gaining so much more!!!! The almost 50 lbs I have lost has made me feel do much more myself... The self I have always been underneath and I wouldn't change my sleeve for the world!!!

  7. First of all I want to say how unbelievably supportive everyone on here is. No matter what I think I am going through alone I can get on here and realize I'm not!!! Secondly, have any of you noticed how people whom you have told about the surgery judge extremely harshly? My immediate family whom I love very much and have actually been supportive throughout the whole thing have started judging me. A few days ago it was my 21st birthday so of course I went out and ha a few drinks, I didn't get drunk or sick or anything just had a few and now they keep telling how if I'm goingto be that irresponsible then it was pointless to get the surgery... Keep in mind I had surgery July 9 (almost 2 months out) and down 45 lbs!!! I feel great and I'm sticking to everything just have had some drinks.... Low calorie ones at that!!! I just don't understand how they can think they know my new stomach more then I do.... Have any of you experienced anything like this? I just don't know how to talk to them and get them to understand.
  8. I was told by my surgeon that I am not able to have NSAIDS ever again...
  9. I am 20. An I was just sleeved on July 9 in Denver!! So far it's been amazing! Best of lil to you on your journey!
  10. I am only 2 weeks out but I feel like this is the most logical choice. And I'm glad to have found someone who did it! Others have just told me that it won't work this way but I feel like depriving myself would make it worse for me rather then a bite here and there.
  11. This is also a concern for me. People just dont understand all the time. And your completely right its not something I want to share right away! I just hope that guys can be as understanding as I want them to be!!
  12. I had terrible problems with the liquid pain Mesa they kept causing me to throw up so i decided to stop taking them last night and switched to pills of Vicodin and I have felt so good since I switched!
  13. I too am getting sleeved on Monday! I am feelin the exact same way you are! best of luck to you !!!
  14. Everyone is just so supportive!!! I am 20 and in college and I am finally getting sleeved on this monday July 9.

  16. Oh my gosh! Sounds like you have had quite the journey! But I hope this is the last leg of it for you!! I will start my liquid diet on the 6th as my surgery is the 9th and it only has to be a 3 day one. But sounds like you are doing so great!! Good Luck to you!

  18. It has taken me longer then a year to have reached this point but i am finally less then 2 weeks away from surgery. I am so excited and can't wait for it to be here already but I am also scared for everything. Maybe I am just overreacting to the anxiety of it all and the actualization of it all happening. i am just wanting to know how everyone else felt and how you are feeling now and what I should expect... this forum is just so wonderful and you all provide such an amazing support i am so grateful!
  19. I have BCBS TX and I had to do the 6 month diet. No one knew that and I had all my other requirements done in December then this... Now I'm looking at a July surgery but oh we'll! Yes start your 6 month diet now!! Cuz it really is 7 visits because the first is considered a 'consult' it's not so bad though just go in for ten minutes an talk about it but yes don't mention anything in the appointments that you think might even have a chance at derailing your train!!!! Good luck!
