I think so, I called to set up the options seminar but the nurse is out until Monday.

OMG that explains it! I filed an appeal on 8/09 and on 8/10 I received the Options package, I thought ok the Dr must have been wrong. I called the Kaiser case worker on Wendesday and told her to pull back the complaint. Thank you for letting me know.:biggrin2:

What are some of the things you want to buy or do once you hit goal? My list: 1) Stop taking the 6 meds a-day. 2) Buy a pair of stilettos( I have never owned a pair) 3) Wear jeans with a zipper. 4) Go the local Water park. 5) Run more than 2 feet.

Ok so now I am really confused and happy! I get home and the package to start the the options classes is sitting on the table! So the Dr was wrong and was not denied. I had just filed an appeal yesterday... Today at work I put a rosary (I am not catholic lol) and a post it :laugh0:on my computer that says " I get approved for VSG." __________________ BMI 37.6 with health problems. Hoping to one day be sleeved!

I just got a call from Kasier that my appeal will be reviewed by the Bariatric team and should hear back with in 15 days.

I could mail you some water pills! Try warm lemon water before you go to bed and when you get up. Cut out all the carbs, fruit, and only eat veggies and protein. Of course its a:biggrin2:lways easier giving advice then following it. lol!

I filed my appeal today with Kaiser, so I have my fingers crossed!

How funny I was thinking the same thing put some weights under my clothes! kasier turned me down with a bmi of 37.5 and other weight related conditions.If weighed 10 pounds more I would be at the 40 bmi mark. I could put them in my bra they weigh you with all your clothes on.

I am really thinking about going to Mexico too. I never in million years thought I ever consider it before. But after hearing everyone's story I feel it would be ok. I am only about 3 hrs away from TJ. Everyone seams to really like Dr. Aceves, does he charge more the TJ Drs? I have read they are around $5,200? This would be a hard sell to my husband. With going Mexico. I was turned down by Kaiser last week. I could probally fight but, I am probally looking at months to get approved.

I had the same thing happen 4 days before I was scheduled for a hysterectomy. I was freaking out because I wanted it out. Take some potassium pills, drink a lot of orange juice. I able to get my levels up in a couple of days. Also have them check again in a couple of days.

If you choose to self pay and go to Mexico does this mean you do not have to attend any classes? Do just call and set up a surgery date?

I have one knee that has has been bugging me, I did tell my Dr on my last visit. Maybe I can start complaining more about that. My blood sugar has been around 100 the last few times maybe I should eat a few jelly Beans before they take blood next time lol. I even thought about putting some weights in my pockets to raise my BMI... I will just keep at it and see what happens.

I just found out I was turned down by Kaiser this morning. They said I do not qualify. My BMI is 37.5 and I have HP which I have been on 2 meds aday for years. I also have high cholesterol and triglycerides, I guess my numbers are just not high enough. I am really disapointed.Has anyone fought Kasier on this and won?

I was told I would receive the information on how to start the program in the mail. I will follow up next week with my Dr. I just dont want a month to go by and find out someone is sitting on it. Jackie

Ok now that I ate enough Thai food for 3 people. Where is my starting package from Kasier? I am going to start calling next week if I dont get it soon.:tongue_smilie:
