  1. I love salads, but I can't tolerate any raw veggies, or some cooked. The gas pressure is just too much for me.
  2. Banderama, Ma'am your posts are the most judgemental, I've seen on here. I'm sorry that Christianity upsets you. But, don't judge a whole group of by a few.
  3. Nutritionist told me, no gummies, they don't disolve completely. I take flintstones chewable, 2 viactiv calcium(caramel, delicious), biotin twice a day, 1000 mcg, vitamin d and a b12 sublingual. My hair has gotten thicker since I've been taking the biotin.
  4. Don't get too discouraged. I myself had to fight the discouragement. I was banded 3/19/12. I've lost 30 since pre-op diet. I got to the point of, "why didn't I go w by-pass? It would've been so much faster." BUT, I went for my 5th fill and am now at 4.75 and the change that, that .75 has brought me has been amazing. My dr. kept telling me to be patient, it will come. He was so right. Don't give up, don't let the discouragement take over. If I can do it, you can too!
  5. Its funny, banderama is on this thread spewing very negative comments and is then critical of how "religious people" act. No one is attacking you, we are encouraging this thread creator. YOU are turning it around. P.s. most scientists are Christians. The loudest aren't. They don't speak for all, they are just louder.
  6. P.s. So far it doesn't make me feel satisfied for even an hour.
  7. Thanks for taking the time to comment and help out a struggler. I have gone in for fills once a month since 6weeks out. First was 2, than 1, now he only gives me 1/2 every visit. He says its a slow process, to be patient. Yes, I know what and how much, I'm supposed to eat. Its just easier said than done. The first 3 months, I did awesome ate what I was supposed to and would get on here daily to get support and ideas just from reading other's posts. But, I was doing it alone and got impatient. My first step was to get on here and get some, motivation, a certain amount of accountability and even some tough love.
  8. I've only lost 30 lbs since March 19th(surgery date). I am so frustrated. I am at 4cc and no restriction. Some foods get stuck if I don't chew well, but thats about it. I am no good at dieting on my own, hence the lapband insertion. I've started eating carbs and bigger portions. I told myself today, is the day. I've gotta get back on track! Its hard, though. How do some of ya'll do it? Should I have lost more by now? Help!
  9. I wouldn't get a fill, but still talk to your doc. My surgeon told me not to look for any weightloss a month out. You sound like you're doing great!
  10. Until you get proper restriction, you have to control what and how much you eat or you will gain weight. Once you have the right restriction the band does most of the work. Don't give up on the band when it hasn't even started working yet. Lapband is a slower process than bypass but, we can control how much restriction we will ALWAYS have(its just getting there, thats hard), whereas bypass can slowly strretch back out over time. Good luck!
  11. Like He said, pen & paper. My seminars, I've gone to they gave me folder packets with all the info. But, you never know. Be prepared, there is alot of info. Good luck.
  12. I didn't respond(wuss ) but, it was an old woman(old women are the worst) and I was thinking, you are head to toe wrinkles, woman and you are criticizing me???!!!!!
  13. I have bcbs of alabama, surgery in March this year. I had to have it. BUT, it also depends on your plan. I would call or make an appointment with the surgeon you are planning on using, The insurance person will look all that up for you. Or you can call your insurance and find out. Good luck! Time off was only about a week, so that really shouldn't be too much of an issue, depending on what kind of work you are in.
  14. My nutritionist ok'd me for refried beans with a lil liquid to thin them out, I add taco sauce, baked taters w/o skins, very scrambled eggs, runny grits, runny oatmeal, lots of creamy soups....
  15. I think who you are attracted to changes as you change, otherwise we would all be pedophiles. When your 16, 16 yr old are attractive. When your 30, then adults your age are attractive. Hopefully when I'm 70 my hubby will still think I'm hot! Whats attractive about your wife isn't just her body, its the complete package. I've seen men who I thought were attractive but, after knowing them.... Not so much. I like bigger men but, if my man got skinny, his whole being would still be sexy..
  16. Ha, you made me laugh out loud, literally! Oh, that first shower after surgery......the best shower EVER! I actually had someone tell me....,"You are so pretty, just think how beautiful you would be if you lost weight" this was said by a stranger in a gro store, UGH!
  17. Take that control!!! We got your back!
  18. You say it just started 6 months ago. Do you thinkk that maybe Curt is feeling some stress over another baby coming? People release stress differently, it kinda sounds like he might've tried holding it in and the dam broke so now everything makes him go off. I'm not saying he's cheating or not cheating, or its the new stress or not, but something new is going on. If this isn't how he normally is, I would seek counseling from a pastor or the like before you call it quits. p.s. You are definitly not complaining, you are reaching out for answers, and thats good.
  19. Either! I feel both at different times! Sometimes I get the pains and sometime I get the "can't breathe" feeling.
  20. I have the band, but not restriction. I am not much of a "dieter" as I don't want to feel deprived. Stay away from carbs except for that one night a week to allow yourself to drink. Lapband diet is easy....protein protein protein. I've lost 30 lbs so far by just doing this. I don't feel deprived bc there are alot of foods you can eat. You actually sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. Most people are not honest with themselves, and tell themselves they are ready for the surgery when they're not ready to follow everything that goes with it.
  21. I agree with both of the above. First...i would definitly talk to someone about this. It's alot harder going it alone. I have cut out carbs, cold turkey! It was the only way I could break my habit. It has worked amazingly well. Now, one day a week I allow them, since my cravings are gone. I have noticed 6 days a week I am not hardly hungry anymore but, the 1 day I wake up eating carbs in the morning I end up hungry all day. Cut the carbs but don't deprive yourself, there are plenty of delicious foods & drinks out there. Flavored waters are sweet and best of all guilt-free.
  22. I mix canned chicken with sour cream, mayo and green onions, Yummy. Or chicken, rotel & shredded queso cheese, microwave....delicious! When you get past the soft stage, throw it on a flour shell and brown it. Or tuna, peas mixed together, sprinkle some parmesean cheese on top, microwave for less than a minute. I hope these help.
  23. I am curious to know the "WHY" you sabatoge yourself. I find myself not sabatoging myself but have a certain amount of fear about being "skinny". Maybe if I was closer to goal I would feel the need to. I am really not sure where my fear is coming from. Know this....you are not alone!
  24. It really depends on your plan. It took me two appeals to get mine. But, as soon as I jumped through their last hoop, it only took like two weeks. I gave them a 3 year weight history, and they didn't want it just charted, they wanted the actual dr notes from 3 different years with my weight listed in the notes. Good luck to you!
