Day 3 Post-Op
I was happy not to have to get a drain..so I know you will be so happy to have it out! Pepcid complete chewables is what my Dr. told me to take and it works amazingly! I would def. recommend taking it it helps me through the day I take one in the morning and one at night. I only take it both times now because I woke up the other night when I dind't take it with terrible acid pain:scared0: I am happy too that we all seem to be having the same troubles so far. I was suprised to with how much the swelling hurt and how long it took to get past it even a little just today. I know it improves everyday so I know it's gonna get better. Hang in there guys we're on our way:biggrin0:!

Do I really have to do clear for 1 week...
I am doing much better today on day 4 but I really just want some pudding or something with some substance. Did everyone wait the full 7 days to go onto full liquids? Maybe it's just my stomach talking which actually has a feeling today and i'm excited for:thumbup:! Pain is gone and I have been off my pain meds since day 2! I am finally starting to feel like me again and it's so nice..just wondering if I might could try some pudding tomorrow on day 5or even day 6 or should I wait for the full 7?

Run Away !!!!!
I just had my sleeve done Wed. by Dr. Webb at St. Lukes. Sorry to hear you had a rough surgery. Which surgeon did your surgery? I hope you are getting better. My only problem is some swelling in my throat/sternum area which makes it a lil uncomfotable to drink but other than that I'm progressing well. How are you doing today? I pray you will be on the road to a good recovery!:001_smile:

Trouble w/ Protein...
I'm having trouble getting my protein in...I just started yesterday (3 days out) I can only very, very, very slowly sip on my shakes because of my sternum feeling which I assume is the swelling. Is just getting some better than none or should I be trying something else? I have been concentrating on not getting dehydrated because I do not want to go back to the hospital, so I have been doing jello and sf popsicles as much as I can. I estimate i'm getting around 20 grams. I know it's gonna get easier but for now that's all I can do! Any advice is greatly appreciated..thank you guys!

Sleeved & Swelling...
Well I'm home..got sleeved wed. and came home thurs! I am doing okay with evrything only it's really hard to drink liquid like my water. I can do Jello and my sf popsicles which have been my saving grace but there's so much swelling that I can feel it going down and it hurts slightly. I didn't know if anyone else had this problem. My inscisons are doing great and really don't hurt it's mostly thr air, gas and swelling. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Is VSG right for me?
I didn't want to go as drastic as GB and also didn't want to have the band in me all the time. I also have 2 small kids and going for fills or withdraws all the time would be a pain. I also read so many stories about problems with the band and I didn't want to risk going back and forth with problems if they should arise. I decided the sleeve was right for me...and I know about that reaction, my parents and husband were all for it but my sister was not happy. She gave me the "easy way out" and all the other speeches. In the end it's what makes you and your family happy it's YOUR body and YOUR health! Good luck with everything and welcome:biggrin0:! Oh and I am self-pay, I am getting sleeved on Wed. and I know it's going to be worth it! You might wanna look at getting a loan I know there are a couple different options.

Let's Call This A Date....
I had my surgeon visit yesterday and everything went great. I got to pick out my DATE :001_smile: looks like May 20! I am so excited and nervous about the "new" me. I will have to start my pre-op diet the end of next week, that's really the only thing i'm not looking forward to. I have been stuffing all the bad things I will no longer be able to gorge on after surgery, and I think i've done it so much over the past week that i've made myself sick of it...please tell me i'm not the only one. I take that as a good thing seeings how I won't be able to have them any more once pre-op starts. That is the only thing that still has a hold of me, the fact that I know i'm going to miss food..not just food but "good" food. Does anyone else feel like this? Results will be worth it and getting to see these pounds come off..so that's what I keep telling myself. I have my psych eval on May 5th and then I am just patiently waiting for sugery day:w00t:! I am lucky to have wonderful family and friends who are supporting me and making sure that I am doing ok with everything...I thank God for them everyday! Seeing my kids and knowing that in just a couple months I can run with them and not be gasping for breath just brings a smile to my face and makes that surgery date look better and better:001_wub:!

Pancreitis
Sorry you had to go through that...praying for you! Glad to hear that your feeling better and in no pain. I already have my GB out, it was extreme pain with that. I'm glad they are taking a closer look at it because I know ignored it can lead to pancreatic pain. Hope they find what they need and you get some answers! :lol0:

so i told two people today...
Wow..i'm so happy i'm not the only one! I told my bible study group at church last night so I know what you mean about not wanting to tell people. They were the only ones I have mentioned anything to excpet my husband and my parents. My parents are accepting the idea and because insurance isn't covering it, my dad is going to (thanks to God and to Him be the GLORY, God opened the door for me to walk through.) I am afraid for my sister to find out though she is not too accepting of things like that but I know i'm going to have to confess to her sooner or later. I guess a part of me feels embaressed becasue I couldn't do it myself..i've been trying for 10 years! I know it will hopefully pass when I get trough with everything and I know it's going to be worth it. Being able to play with my kids like a normal person is reason enough for me to endure anything even if it is rude comments or mean looks. My family and ME are worth it. Hope everything works out and you feel more comfortable telling people and confiding in them.

Questions..please help!
I am going Tues. for my seminar. I am debating between the band and the sleeve, from reading everyone on here I think i'm leaning more towards the sleeve. I will be self-pay as my insuance doesn't cover it. So here are my questions: Which is better band/sleeve? How long is the process for self-pay? Do I need to do a diet before I can have surgery or is that only for insurance? Has anyone ever heard of any long term problems with the sleeve? Sorry so many questions and if you can answer any of them I would greatly appreciate it..THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!:lol0:
