WTF did I do to myself?
Thanks for the replies, Everyone! Today is much better. I was finally able to pass gas and the pain has gone down. A half a notch but still, DOWN! My doc told me to not take the Calcium for 2 weeks but to take everything else. Im not going to though, I just cant do it. I'll wait. And Papi, I cant wait to eat Proteins either!

WTF did I do to myself?
I'm 2 days out & as I lay here in horrible pain I keep thinking that. WTF I was I thinking?? Why would I put myself through this?? How long does it take for the pain to minimize? How long til I can take my Vitamins w/o crushing them and TASTING them? I'm sorry if I sound like a whiney baby right now but that's exactly what I am. Any responses would-be appreciated. Even the ones telling me to man up cause it gets better. Ali

BAY AREA KAISER
Hi Analynn! I am getting my sleeve February 22 at kaiser in Fremont. My surgeon is Dr. Eric Hanh. I chose the sleeve myself after extensive research because it seems a lot less dangerous, less risks and less nutritional issues. Congrats on your decision!! Where are you having it done at?

kinda gotta lie!?!?!?
Hernia repair, baby. I'm conjuring up my story right now. I'm getting sleeved on feb. 22 and since I just had emergency gallbladder removal on the 31st, I'm saying I have a hernia. It sucks to have to lie, but, some people do more damage when they know the truth. Good luck, sweetie.

Strange question: girlie parts

Strange question: girlie parts
Thank you for the replies. Tiffykins, everytime I read one of your posts or answers I feel so much better about what I'm getting in to. Thank you for being such a string presence here. You're amazing. I have another question for you. I carry 90% of my weight in my abdomen also, but it's not a huge, hard belly. It's very soft, flabby & already hangs a bit low. I tried to put a picture up but it wouldn't let me. Anyway it's the worst area for me by far. You say you had 90% in your andomen but was it solid or kinda soft or really soft?

Strange question: girlie parts
Ok. So, I've been wanting to ask this but didn't quote know how. I still don't but...here it goes. Obviously, I am fat. I have all the parts of a big girl including the pouch above my girlie parts. I have come to terms with the fact that my belly will hang be ause it's so big. For those who have lost a significant amount: does this pouch just...deflate? Do you have extra skin to lift to, uh...get THERE??? I need to know. I hope I didn't offend anyone!! Just curious as my surgery date approaches. Thank you! Ali

Getting sleeved February 22, 2011.
Well...after all my pushing, hard work, and having to get a new date because if emergency gallbladder surgery, i got my date. Why am I not so freaking excited?? I'm scared. I really didn't want to have 2 surgeries. I have faith in my surgeon and his team, but I'm a huge wuss!! Anesthesia, again?!?! Ugh! I wish I wasn't so scared. I need to do this. I want it, I really really do. What's wrong with me? I just don't want to have worked this hard, and put all this money in and get there and decide not to do it. I'm kind of ranting but also looking for people who I can communicate with about my feeling & maybe hear your feelings and what you went through or are going through. Thank you everyone! Ali

A change of plans. Thanks gallbladder !
Hi everyone! I was supposed to have my gallbladder removed & get my sleeve on Monday January 3rd. But...my gallbladder decided it no longer wanted to be in me. I went fir my pre op on December 30 and was in so much pain that my surgeon sent me directly to the ER. He said it looked bad & he couldn't help me. I ended up having emergency surgery on Friday morning. I have a new date to get sleeved. February 22, 2011. I'm nervous & I'm having doubts now. I didn't want 2 surgeries. Do I want to go through that again? The anesthesia is this scary part. I'm at home recovering from this one and I'm stressing about the other.

Is this REALLY happening???
Thank you all so much for your replies. I'm really excited. I'm also very scared. I've never had an operation and I keep stressing on all the things that could go wrong. I have gallstones though, so I'm going to have to have surgery regardless. Why not get them both done at once huh? I'm still not familiar with this site & how to get all the cool banners and stuff, but I'm going to learn. I hope...I love to write and I love to share so as soon as I get my computer up & running again, I'm going to be on here regularly and I'm going to blog about my entire journey. I know it's going to get emotional, raw feelings will be exposed and all tHat good stuff. But all in all, I want to help anyone the way your guys' posts and feedback has helped me. Well..it's 3am I have to be up at 5 for work, and I cNt sleep. Awesome huh? Haha. I have to have a chest x ray and an EKG done and then it's just about getting a date! I'm going to do those things either Thursday or Friday and then I'm going to be pro active (bug a boo) and call the scheduler Thanks again everyone, feel free to contact me, and I'll keep you posted!!! Ali

Is this REALLY happening???
Hi Everyone! So...I'm done with all my pre op stuff. I weighed in 1 pound less than my doc wanted me to be, passed my eval, and turned in my tests. Now, my file was sent to my Doctor for review and then the scheduler will call me. SERIOUSLY? Is my life really about to change? Is evrything Ive been hoping for and working so hard for actually coming together??? Im scared/excited. Just had to get that out!

Depressed "/
Thank you SO much for your responses everyone. I havent been able to check them as often as I'd like but you guys and gals are amazing. Im so gratefu for you all. So...since that post Ive lost 12 lbs. I am 10lbs away from getting a surgery date. I have my psyc eval on the 17th! Im getting closer and closer everyday, and it feels great. I did the gym dedicated for about 2 weeks straight and hvae kind of started slacking again but mostly do to crzy work schedule. Im more "in the zone" when im at the gym than i used to be. Im on a low carb diet and it seems to be working. Again, thank you ALL SO MUCH. I have another question....what exactly are they looking for in the pysc eval? What can make them decide you're not ready?? Thanks everyone!!!

Depressed "/
So...Im here again because I havent lost the weight. I need to lose about 20lbs before I can get a date. I know that I want this. I need this. My fatty liver, and my PCOS would be alliviated if not completely gone. why cant I lose the weight? Ive lost some with dieting. I have gone to the gym but not like I should. I get so embarassed just walking up there. sometimes I drive all the way there and cant bring myself to go in. I just need to knowif anyone else has gone through this. is it really the fear keeping me from doing it? I know I can lose the weight within a few weeks but Ive been doing it since July 23. I hate myself for keeping myself from what I know I need.

I dont know whats wrong

I dont know whats wrong
Ive been so excited for this and been looking foward to it. Now Ive taken all the steps and I just need to lose the 20lbs before getting put on the waiting list. I honestly should ahve lost it by now. I just cant seem to do it. Part of me thinks that somewhere in the back of my mind im sabotaging myself because Im scared to death to have surgery. I ahve never had an operation before and Im scared to be put under. I have an irrational fear that i will have a heart attack or some adverse reaction to the anesthesia or something. I dont knwo what to do and I feel stuck!! Well, yesterday I started a primarily fruit and veggie diet and I started working out (exhausting!!) Did anyone else go through this? What helped you? Thanks in advance for any insight, Ali

Didnt get a pre op diet plan...
I have to lose 25lbs before I can be put on the waiting list for my sleeve. I was not given a specific diet plan. They just told me to keep them updated and when Im 5lbs away from my goal weight I will have the eval and chest xray. Is this normal? Should I just follow one off here?
