  1. I will admit it, I am HORRIBLE with exercise. I don't do it, never really have. I do kinda like strength training though and have found a new toy I love!!!! It's an over the door resistance training set. I've used it 6 times in 2 days, lol. We'll see if it helps with toning.....here's hoping
  2. Great tip Emily! I've never been searched, but will keep it in mind, thanks!
  3. I can so sympathize, but it is so true, you don't really get it until you experience it yourself. It's too bad though, nobody should have to go through that, it just makes you miserable!
  4. I'm hoping somebody can keep from the experience - no fun, the too full or vomiting, neither is fun.
  5. Could have been a texture thing with the grits. Maybe put them off for a little while and try them again in a few weeks?
  6. You look fabulous, what an inspiration! Thank you for sharing
  7. It's funny, I've never associated food with the movies. Growing up, my Mom would never buy a drink or food at the movies because money was tight. Now, I just don't see the logic, everything is overpriced, plus anytime I buy a drink, I end up missing part of the movie My suggestion would be to sneak in a snack pack of nuts, they're at least salty like pop corn.
  8. If you've gotten to at least the puree stage than most likely you know the feeling of one bite too many. Well, today, I discovered the 2 bites too many scenario. Holy crapola!! I was still reeling from the stress of riding out the tornadoes yesterday and was watching the news all day and was stressed out from that. I decided to fix some chicken, just 2 little tenders. Started eating and they were just sooooo yummy, I knew I was overdoing it. Just rest assured, if you overdo it, YOU WILL PAY! I have learned my lesson though, I don't want anymore whammies.....ever! Anybody care to share their whammy story?
  9. Prayers heading your way for future uneventful healing process.
  10. I had 2 sessions an hour each. No written tests but could tell from the questioning she was looking for any signs of food addiction, past sexual abuse, or any other unresloved issues that could cause me to fail. So, I don't think 2.5 hours is too bad, and it can be helpful too. Hope all goes well for her
  11. I would go with a chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast instead, it's a better Protein source in my NUT's opinion. I'd always double check with my own NUT or Doc.
  12. I think Reese's was created by Satan to tempt us all, grrrr! I did great with the real food at my family's Easter dinner. I had a half deviled egg, a little ham, a little less turkey and 2 green Beans. Then a couple hours later, the kids brought out their Easter haul, and after 3 offers of a Reese's, I caved. I'm trying to remember that it's about being good the majority of time. Nobody can do it 24/7. I still have to fight that demon that tells me to give up anytime I fail. It's nice to know you're not alone. Here's to another day to do it better!
  13. My mother had "stomach stapling" when I was four. I grew up with her being "different" from other mom's. She ordered from the kids' menu, she often got sick if she drank too soon after eating. She used her tool pretty effectively and I saw the day in, day out life of a person with WLS. I think this has given me an advantage. I have not once asked "what did I do to myself?" and have not once regretted surgery. Granted, I did a LOT of research that did prepare me, but I think the psychological aspects have been easier for me because of my Mom. What do you guys think?
  14. Dang! Wish I'd seen your post sleeve 4 me while I was out and about, I would have been all over that deal, there's 2 SB in reasonable driving distance to me, hehe!
  15. It depends on your job and your doc. I'm not released to lift more than 15 pounds for 6 weeks and of course lifting is a large part of my job. Physically, I felt fine after the first week.
  16. Congrats, it will be the best phone call you ever made!
  17. Your fears are completely normal. I think everyone has them at some point. I had them all before I really decided to have surgery, once I decided I was calm. I slept very little the night before and therefore slept most of the day after surgery. Try doing positive affirmations regarding the surgery and your life after, it really can help. Good luck, and we'll see ya on the losing side
  18. Kudos to you. Sometimes we need to trim the fat in our lives too, not just our bodies. I had to end a 25 year friendship because I FINALLY realized that every time I spoke with the person I was stressed out.....not conducive to a healthy life. Do what you gotta do for you, 'cause nobody else is gonna do it for you. Good luck!
  19. Just curious what people will be eating......also, please let us know what stage you're in. I'm on pureed/mushy and plan to have deviled eggs and maybe some puree ham with mustard (sounds really good)
  20. I'm starting week 5 myself and have been thinking of hot dogs too.....I usually cut up a bell pepper, and heat in skillet with the hot dogs, yum-yum.....can't wait!
  21. I double checked on caffeine with my NUT today and he said it was fine, within reason. He said if I choose to drink it to boost my water intake to counter the diuretic effects, so no biggie.
  22. Welcome aboard, and congrats on getting booked. Here's to a thinner future and more Lowe's flirtin'.
  23. I can't wait to get in 16's....or any teens for that matter, been a long time. Congrats on your success, it's amazing!!!
  24. I did my first coffee today (beginning 5 weeks), I got a skinny cinnamon dolce at SB.....yum. It got me to wondering what other folks order. Do you make it a treat and do full fat, full sugar or do you try to make it leaner........also, is there any way to make mine any better?
