  5. I am going to the gym 3-5 days/week and doing the eliptical machine for 35" and the bike for 10-15". Today I over did it. I did 45" on the eliptical and 25" on the bike. The reason I am a little worried is that I am only taking in about 400 calories/day. I don't want to mess up my metabolism again. ( I messed it up before when I was taking in 500 cals and exercising 2 hours/day). I love to exercise though- good thing! Gigi
  6. I was banded on 1/30/07 and am still out of work though I'll be going back in about 1 week. I have a job where I lift patients. My doctor won't even let me lift weights until after my first fill which isn't til the 3rd week in March. Gigi

  19. Hi! my nutritionist advised me about hair loss before I had my band surgery and she was reccommending protein shakes. She said that she likes carnation instant breakfast, isopure, and myoplex light because they contain biotin which helps maintain healthy hair. She said that it's not so much the protein as the biotin that is important for hair loss.I agree with Mirissa. I hope this helps-Gigi
  20. shues 138- Thanks for the recipe. It sounds yummie. I am still on liquids and mushies, but my family will love it! Gigi

  23. Hi Chris and welcome to LBT! I was banded on 1/30/07 and I really think it was one of the best things I've done. I was feeling the same way as you are. I think that it is normal to feel that way. I am very glad that I have my band. It is a tool- not a cure, but I do believe that if you work with your band you will succeed. Best of luck to you! Gigi
  24. Hi Gr8ful gal and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on your upcoming band date! As you know, this site is great, containing alot of information and support. 25. Hi Nursedeeva and congrats on your banding! I was banded on 1/30/07 and I had and still have a hard time getting my fluids and protein shakes in. I have a shake for breakfast and it holds me for at least 6 hours. I do sip on water all day long. I am still not hungry though. I drink my shakes and eat cottage cheese because I know that I need the protein. I am still only taking in about 400-500 calories a day. I didn't weigh myself until I went to my 2 week post-op appt. My doctor said the same thing about the first 6 weeks being a time for healing. Best of luck to you! Gigi:)
