Hi! Where are you having your surgery? It is nice to talk to someone who will be banded on the same date as me. Are you following any sort of pre-op diet? I am on 3 Protein shakes/day with a meal consisting of 3oz protein and unlimited veggies. We should keep in touch. Talk to you soon.Gigi:)

Hi Gretchen! How funny, I have 3 boys-14,12,and 8, and a 6y.old girl.( They all just had their b-days in Dec/Jan). It certainly is busy. I always say that I should be thin because I am nonstop, especially in the summer when everyone is home. Now we have 2 things in common! Anyway, please keep in touch this week and after your surgery. Hi Kima, I am also being banded on the 30th. We will sail through this together. Where are you being done? I am from RI. Dr.Pohl will be doing my surgery at Roger Williams Hospital. The surgery is at 9:30am. I am so excited and also nervous. Keep in touch. Gigi

Hi Jill and welcome. I am also an RN and mother (of 4 though) who has been overweight forever.I am scheduled for surgery next Tuesday-the 30th. I share your feelings and can definetly identify with you. I guess I can't help but wonder if this is going to work. I am definetly going to make it work. My doctor requires his patients to go on a 2 week liquid diet consisting of 3 protein shakes and 3oz of protein (lean meat,chix,or fish )and veggies. I started this on the 16th. So far,so good. It seem that every doctor has different requirements.Anyway,welcome and keep us posted on your journey.Best of luck to you.Gigi

Congrats on your weight loss! I haven't been banded yet, so I have no experience there. I know from researching and from talking with my doctor that this is common. Do you exercise? Sometimes changing your routine can help your body start losing again. Good luck! Gigi

Hi! I am from Providence,RI. I am fortunate that my surgery will be covered by my insurance,but I am not sure about the fills.I wonder if they are covered also:rolleyes: . Does anyone know? I have BCBS. Anyway,hope all is well with you. Keep in touch-Gigi:)

Hi Cheryl! Welcome. I know that the timing and waiting can be frustrating,but hopefully it will be worth it. I first started researching the band in August 2006. I attended a seminar in September and went on all the appointments and had all the procedures done. I received my phone call with a date right after the new year. My surgery is scheduled for January 30th. I too have been overweight since I was young-5 years old. I am hopeful that this will work. Best of luck to you. Gigi:)
