  1. The Miralax does usually take a while, maybe 3-4 days. You can take it everyday. Eventually things have to work their way out Miralax is also a stool softner, so it will helps with the bricks :/ I have never taken Milk of Magnesia, so cant help you there, but I think others have. I totally forgot about a juice I use to drink. I need to get some more. It is called PlumSmart. I get the light one. I forget how many calories, but it wasnt too bad ,maybe 50 calories for 8oz. I would drink 8oz a day and it did the trick. Something else to try
  2. WOW!! AMAZING!!! You look so great! You ARE tiny now!!! And look like you are having a blast! I hope to be called tiny some day I also had surgery in Oct, the 4th, but have a little under 80 more pounds to lose! I cant wait to post pics like yours
  3. We should get together, when I get closer to goal, and we could both stand in your pants Or my big pants, LOL (30/32s). Isnt it crazy to think we use to fill those sizes out??? You have come so far! And look AMAZING!! Keep your head up gf, you have accomplished so much! :boink:
  4. I am in the Cincinnati area and had my surgery at The Jewish Hospital, by Dr. Fegelman. He use to, or still does, work with Dr. Curry. My aunt is an RN at Jewish, and said he is an excellent doctor. Good luck to you!!!! You will love your sleeve!
  5. Thanks for all the responses!!! So, here is what I did to change things up, and I am going to keep doing this until I stop losing. I am not concentrating on protein, or following the protein first rule. I am still eating turkey and chicken, but also veggies and fruits, yogurts and granola. I get organic granola so it doesnt have all the added bad stuff. Also, I get organic yogurt, and organic milk, add some berries and make a yummy smoothie, nothing else in it. I eat blueberries, strawberries and blackberries, either in a smoothie or in vanilla yogurt with granola on top. I even got an organic granola with dark chocolate for a treat. I am eating around 1400-1500 calories, some days even as much as 1800!! A few days I even had organic cheadar crackers shaped like bunnies, LOL. Probably for kids, but they were super tasty. Most days, I have over 200g of carbs. I guess it works for my body, and hopefully it keeps working! I track my calories, fat, carbs, protein, etc, just so I can look over what works best for me. Here is a typical day for me. Most of you probably don't even eat half of this. Breakfast: 1 whole banana with 1/4 cup granola (sometimes just the banana fills me up, so I eat the granola later) Lunch: Bagel thin (everything) toasted, with 1 slice of cheese and 2oz reduced sodium turkey breast lunchmeat Snack:Smoothie (1cup) OR Yogurt (1/2 cup) with berries and 1/4 cup granola Dinner: 4 oz grilled boneless, skinless chicken breast (marinated), 1/4 cup of green beans, and 1 slice of cheese Snack: 1/4 cup chocolate granola or sf pudding cup or sf jello or all of the above Hope this helps someone! If you aren't losing much or are in a stall, it cant hurt to try! I know organic foods are a lot more expensive, but I feel great just adding a few organic things in. I am planning on adding more. Also, adding some more veggies. I am not exercising right now. I plan to start the Couch to 5K program really soon! Once I do start that, I am going to add a protein drink on the days I walk/jog. Probably going to add in some other exercises too. Thanks again for all the support! You guys are awesome!
  6. This past week , I have changed things up, and boy has it paid off!!! I lost 6 pounds this week, for a total of........ 125!!! Now, onto my next goal of getting to -150!!!!
  7. I started at super obese!!! Now, im just obese, LOL!
  8. Congrats!!! I cant wait to just be overwieght, LOL! I just checked my BMI and I started out in the Obese category 3 (highest one)... morbidly obese. Now I am just category 1, just obese, LOL! Cant wait to get just overweight, I think I have like 35 more pounds. And congrats on almost being to ONEDERLAND!!! You are almost there!!
  9. Great job!!! You look awesome!
  10. Others are probably going to disagree with me, but I would say eat your fruits and veggies! A balanced diet works best for me, than focusing on ONLY protein, or protein first. Just see what works for you. I think you are getting plenty of protein just on the protein drink, and should be fine. I just switched up my diet recently, eating fruits, veggies, yogurt, granola, cheese, all organic, and ive been dropping the weight like crazy! I am still eating my turkey and chicken, but I eat the other stuff too. I hope it continues this way. Just play around with your foods and see what works best for your body and weight loss (and most importanly, health!!!).I also am taking in an average of 1400 calories, sometimes even 1800, and losing weight! I am sure most others eat half of that or less. Everyones bodies are so different, and not everyone does well with high protein, low carb. low calories. You just have to experiement. Good luck! And keep us posted! As for the constipation, try some Miralax until you can get more fresh fruits and veggies in And of course, make sure you are drinking enough fluids and exercising, at least walking, because that will keep things moving along.
  11. I weigh myself multiple times a day! UGH! I need to "hide" my scale too! I am afraid to put it in the trunk because it will move all around and I don't wanna break it, LOL! Maybe I will put it up on a shelf in the garage. Ill send you a PM, and maybe we can help each other out to get thru this stupid daily weighing!!!
  12. That is an awesome NSV!!! Congrats!!!!!!!! I hope you get to take that trip with the kids soon!
  13. I am about 7 months, 1 week out from surgery. Wow, time sure does fly! I was in Hawaii during my 7 month post op date, so here is my update. I am going to attach some pics from Hawaii. I did so many things I know I couldn't have done at my higest weight. I fit in a plane seat! And most of the time, had lots of extra seatbelt. I hiked thru a rainforest, swam in the ocean, and walked to stores and on the beach. We were on the 4th floor of a condo complex, and I took the steps most of the time I had a great time! I was so scared I was going to gain, but I actually lost!!!! Before I left, my lowest weight was 250 pounds. Before vacation, I got up to 254!!! UGH!! I thought for sure I gained while in Hawaii, and was scared to weigh when I got back. I thought it was gonna say 260. I stepped on the scale and BAM, it was down to 252! Woohoo! The next day.... 250. I have been home almost a week, and I am down to 246! WTH!!! I am not complaining, but wow, the weight is starting to come off again. I have been losing slowly, and staying the same for weeks, but thats mostly my fault. I was eating pretty bad! Now, I am trying to eat healthy things, and trying to mostly eat organic, natural stuff. My fav thing right now is to eat organic vanilla yogurt, with strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries, with some organic plain granola on top! YUM!. Or I make a smoothie with the berries, yogurt and organic fat free milk. For Breakfast I love a banana with some granola. And lunch I love the "everything" bagel thins, with low sodium turkey and a slice of cheese. I am not worrying about carbs, just eating fruits, veggies, and of course, still chicken and turkey. I am eating 1400-1800 calories a day, and losing like a pound a day this week since I started this. Maybe this is what my body needs. I am just going to do this until I stop losing. I feel pretty awesome. I went shopping today and fit into size 16's!!!! WOW! They are super tight, but omg, I could zip them! I think I will be in them soon! And, I tried a 2X top, and it was too big!! I got the 1X. I could probably wear a misses XL but my arms wont go away! I am going to start the couch to 5K program. Not sure if I will ever do a 5K, just like how it tells you what to do each day. I just need to exercise, and I want to be able to run one day. THANKS DIVA!!!! So, I am down to 246 today. My offical weigh in days are mondays, but I still weigh multiple times a day. I really need to stop that! In a little over 7 months, I have lost a total of 123 pounds!!! Wooohoooo! My next mini goal is to lose a total of 150 pounds. I have 82 more pounds to lose to goal! Pictures from left to right: Bamboo forest, my mom and I, me by a waterfall, me hiking, me and my mom in a cave, me @ a luau in my new jean skort, me at blackrock, modeling my new 1X shirt and super tight 16's, back view, and my shrinking booty, LOL! If you want to see any of these pictures in a larger view, you can find them here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sarahslmt/5718119972/in/photostream/ ""
  14. :party4: YOU ROCK DIVA!!!!!! Back that thing up! LMAO!!! :hititbanana:
  15. I wasn't sure where to put this post, but then I tought about it and figured this was a success story and NSV! I am leaving for Hawaii this weekend! I am so excited , :w00t: yet nervous too! I have only been on a plane to FL and back, and that was about 10 yrs ago. I am super nervous to fly, but nothing some medication can't help. I am scared to be in a new place with new food. Also, I have never left my dogs. So, this will be a huge achievment for me to take this trip on so many levels! So, I think this should count as another NSV for me. I can (hopefully) fit in a plane seat. I know at 369 pounds I would not have and would have been very uncomfortable, and probably not wanted to go. I hope to have many, many NSV in Hawaii, and of course, will share here (as well as lots of pictures) Also, my 7 month sleeve-aversary will be while I am there! AND... NO SCALE!!!! OMG, I hope I make it with no scale, LOL. But, maybe I will drop some pounds if I am not obsessing about weighing myself daily (multiple times). AND, I am sure I will be a lot more active there. We shall see!!! I really want to do the zip line, but it has a weight limit of 260. I am 250 right now, but scared because I am so close and probably weigh about 5 pounds more with clothes on. I can't really do the zipline naked. :pound: When we get back, my brother, sister and I are getting out pictures done professionally for our mom, for mothers day. I will have to post those too! ALOHA!!! :seeya: :seeya: :seeya: :seeya:
  16. :success1:I have been watching on facebook as well for this!!! WAY TO GO DIVA!!! :Dancing_shocked: :Dancing_tongue: :Dancing_wub: :woot: :woot: :woot: I can't wait to be there myself, still awhile to go! I was looking for the cute dancing banana, and saw this one! :Banane56: WTF!!!!! WEIRD! LOL
  17. Awesome job!!! You both are doing great!!!
  18. Great job!! Hope this doesn't come off wrong, but you have a neck now!!! Woohoo AWesome job on dropping the 95 pounds!!!
  19. WOW! What a transformation!!! You do look awesome!!! And how fun to have something to enjoy! I went kayaking the other day and LOVED IT! GREAT JOB!
  20. I got this tattoo about 2 years ago. It has a lot of meaning to me since I lost my dad almost 3 years ago (July 26th). The butterfly has a lot of meaning and there is a story that goes along with it. It's just too long to tell here. I need to write it all down so I don't forget every detail. Anyway, my mom noticed my tattoo looked brighter and smaller, LOL! It is hard to tell from this picture, but it is!!! I got it on my neck because I was afraid when I lost that it would be distorted if I got it anywhere else on my body. So glad it still looks good. And actually I got it on my neck too because I have a birthmark (its red, the tattoo covers some and you can see it into my hair) and my dad had the same birthmark. The picture on the left was taken right when it was done, and the one on the right is from today. I count this as an NSV because my neck is starting to look more "normal"
  21. Thanks! Yes, I am proud. Some days it's hard to see the change, but I just look at those pics Thank you!!! Thank you, thank you Thanks!!! I have 2 boxers A fawn female and brindle male And THANKS for the reply!!! Thanks!!!! I have been patiently waiting to hear from you via email Love ya! So glad I have a buddy like you!!!
  22. Awww, thanks! You just made me cry too with the butterfly refference Butterflies are very special to me. My father passed away 2.5 yrs ago, and there is a special connection between him and butterflies. I actually got a tattoo... I will post that pic of my shrinkin tattoo, LOL!
