eek! Tomorrow!
Yep, we all have had those same thoughts in our minds. But, you know what? Everything will be just fine. Clear your mind and think peacful thoughts. If you believe in God pray to him to give you strength. He will you know!!! I think what helped me most was I had resolved to do this and I prayed to God to give me strenght. A calmness came over me after that. Don't worry..... be happy. Best wishes for an uneventful operation and a very speedy recovery tomorrow. I'll be thinking about you. Deb

4 Months Post Op
Excellent!!!! Just think you can walk a mile and a half without any back problems! Now that's cool. I like that. My goal is to run in a 5 K someday. You are showing me I will soon be able to walk longer and finally maybe run or at least walk in a 5 K. Girl... keep rocking your sleeve. I am loving your results. Deb

What a bumpy road
I'm sooo sorry things are not turning out as you hoped. Have you call your doctor about the pain because I don't think you should be in so much pain you can't walk. The sunken left side of your side, I have that too. I think it will be OK after it heals. Best wishes baby girl.

aetna aproval
So.... they want the surgeon to perform the surgery then you leave the hospital the same day? That's ridiculous in my books. I know some people here on this web site who stayed in the hopsital a couple of nights, but I think there have been people who were in and out too. I myself personally stayed one night and I was thankful for that. I was hook up to all kinds of monitors and had a morphine and IV drips and an oxygen mask. I had a blood glusose finger stick every four hours. The nurses also came in every two hours to check my vitals, blood pressure... etc., my drain and to measure my pee output from the catheter. Also to give me ice chips and most important to me they give me my injections of hepria a blood thinner so I would not get blood clots. Plus the next day I had my 2nd leak test done at the hospital. As it was I did have a problem the next day as my postassium levels became to high from the IV fuilds they were feeding me, but they quickly got that under control. I can not imagine having major surgery at let's say 7:30 that moring and leaving the hospital by 3 or 4 that afternoon or even later. That's my experience maybe someone who didn't have a stay in the hospital can speak. Wishing you the best. Deb

9 days post-op. There's no stopping me now
Just a quick update I forgot to post the other day. The reason I got the sleeve in the first place was my health was going down. I could barely walk five minutes without my back starting to hurt. I was on high blood pressure meds and diabetes runs very strong in my family. I just didn't want anything to get worst. When I went to my surgeon's office for the post-op, of course they check your blood pressure. Guess what mine was? Mind you I had not taken any meds since before my pre-op diet on August 3rd. It was 117/72 which I believe is good. I can now walk 15 minutes without my back hurting. I'm very happy!!!! My next appointment is in two months. That's when they will check my labs. Also I want THANK EVERYONE FOR THE KIND WORDS AND YOU GUYS ARE MY ENCOURAGEMENT TOO.:lol0::thumbup::laugh0::thumbup::thumbup:
