  1. Kitty, I think I would just take my protein with me and sit and enjoy their company and not order anything. But I have been very careful not to eat what I am not suppose to and my Nut is pretty strict. Have a great time with your friends and family.
  2. Thank you for posting; you are the farthest out of anyone I have ever seen on here. Nice to hear from you....DONT BE A STRANGER. We newly sleeved need to hear about your experiences.
  3. It is kind of you to be honest and I am sure that it will help others. I am sorry that you have had such a rough time. I hope that you are able to start to feel more like yourself and things start to look up.
  4. It took me a while to feel normal again too. And you know what ...I get really tired again right before I lose a few pounds. Good for you, I love saving money.
  5. Your getting so close....Just keep your eye on the prize! Keep me posted so I know how to pray for you.
  6. Welcome to your new Vertical Sleeve family and we are going to support you the entire way to your goal!!!
  7. This morning I weigh less than my husband ( who happens to be a very in shape Marine). I have been chasing that goal for a long time. I also went from 226 to 174 and that means I past my goal of 175 and I get a new living room set!!!! Still havent bought any new clothes but I dont want to waste money. I would much rather wait until I hit my goal and buy LOTS of nice clothes.
  8. good idea for a thread....I have been thinking about eating out lately too because I too do all the cooking. I have been too afraid to eat the wrong things. I do love egg drop soup so that would be a great choice at a chinese resturant and it is made mostly of chicken broth and eggs. LOTS of protein.
  9. I didnt start any supplements until my two week post op visit. Now I take multi 2 times a day, Calcium 3 times a day, b1 once a day, b12 once a week.
  10. GOOD FOR YOU!!! you deserve some celebrating. I think you'll be posting that you are at goal before we know it!
  11. Sam2011. Jeremiah 29:11 For "I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, "plans to give you hope and a future". May God bless you on this journey and give your family a prosperous future full of hope.
  12. Welcome !!! This site is a great place to find all sorts of helpful tips and quick answers. Good Luck on your journey.
  13. Good for you...Your doing great. Two weeks and you have a lot to show for it!!!
  14. That is great. You are doing so well! Keep telling us about your odd NSVs we will celebrate with you.
  15. I know how difficult it can be to hear negative things. When I started to do all my pre-surgery requirments I started to tell friends and family. I heard negative things too. I just had to remember that this decision wasnt just for me it was for my husband and my kids too. I was doing it so that I could live a long and happy life. I knew it was the surgery for me and that this was the chance for something to actually work. I reminded myself that my husband and I made this decision. It was made! That's it. No matter what opinion others had, ours is all that matters. If they bring up things that worry you write them down and talk to your surgeon about them. My surgeon always answered my question and was so confident that this was right for me that I believe it too. Good Luck to you!
  16. Thank you for posting this story and how great that you get to see a real life example of where you will be in three years...plus have someone to ask questions to.
  17. I have asked so many times why they can't make a pill with all my daily Protein. I am 7 weeks out and I have been trying out new protein shakes but let me give you a tip I didnt learn until I was already frustrated with the taste of these shakes...If you buy from GNC you can return what you dont like...no hassel!!!! I have been using their 100% whey Gold standard I like extreme chocolate and I mix it with just Water not cold just tap. Once I was past stage 1 foods I have been adding 2 TBLSP of PB2 (a powder Peanut Butter I get from the grocery store). It tastes pretty good but you have to keep shaking it because it settles and gets gritty. The protein does ok by itself but when you put in the pb2 it just settles. I mix mine in a shaker bottle and just keep shaking. Hope that helps...I had a laproscopic surgery. Good Luck to you!
  18. I am saying a prayer that you get your surgery on the 1st and it goes well. Remember to walk and walk and walk as much as you can. Even when I didnt feel like it I got up and walked and I ALWAYS felt better when I did. Let us know how you are doing when you are up to it.
  19. Pray everything went well! Take it easy and sip, sip, walk, walk, sip, sip, walk, walk, repeat!
  20. I am sorry you are struggling. Hang in there! Do you have a Nutritionist? Is your surgeon helpful? If you do not loss weight with in the next few weeks maybe you can see a theripist that specializes in this area. It may help to talk to someone face to face about how you feel.
  21. I know it has been said before but you are such a blessing to all of us newbies and wantabes! I have hung on all of your responses and posts and used them to help me get to where I am! I think a lot of sleevers use this site only while they are losing and then forget about it (which I guess that means they are living their new life which is good). You keep coming back to help all of us behind you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. P.S. the pictures are amazing!!!!
