  1. That is so funny...Congrats!
  2. Sorry...Protein 70-90 grams a day

  4. Welcome to the loser bench Kellz! Congratulations. Take good care...sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk....
  5. I am 5 months out and still on Nexium 2 times a day. Doctor said we are going to continue for next 6 months.
  6. You look great!! Congratulations to you.
  7. My surgeon was also Dr. Gallus. I think he did an amazing job! For the last 5 months I have not consumed more than 30 grams of Carbs a day. I consume 70 grams a Protein almost everyday. Calories month 2-4 300-600; month 5 800; and now I guess I need to up them again because I have hit my goal. For me (I have PCOS) I knew I had to be very careful with cards and now I don't really miss them at all. I have been very successful with that combo...but I think everyone is different. Have you emailed the Nut...Eva? She is great about emailing me right away when I have questions. I am excited to have found someone here who had the same surgeon. Good Luck to you and keep me posted on your progress.
  8. That is a nice way to start the day! Congrats and enjoy your victory.
  9. My story is almost identical! I bought a pair of 8's and I couldn't believe when they were too big (out of the dryer). My husband asked me if I had tried a size 6 and I laughed and said no...I don't dream of that size. Now I haven't bought any size 6 but when ever I get the chance I try on size 6 at every store. Congrats to your success and keep us updated!
  10. First of all I love your screen name...I am also a USMC wife and a Teacher. We are in Southern Ca too! I was sleeved at Balboa. Were you? They say no Vitamins until after post op visit because they want to give you tummy time to heal. I asked them pre surgery. My tongue looked a little white and I had terrible breath right after surgery for first few weeks...it was a combo of the Protein and no food. I brushed my teeth constantly. It went away when I moved to mushies. Good luck to you...do your best to follow the surgeons recommendations I think that is the best way to succeed. quote name='USMCwifeandTEACHER' timestamp='1305900308' post='152979'] Two questions, 1. Taking 300 calorie shakes with 42 grams of protein in them is bad, right? I just reali of zed that drinking these may be counter to why I had the surgery in the first place. I had my surgery on Monday and I'm down seven lbs. already. Pretty scary but I'm getting past the food cravings and wanting food. Today, so far, is the first time I woke up and I don't want pancakes. I even remember passing a sign advertising a hotel's breakfast buffet here in San Diego. I was looking at the picture thinking... geez, who can eat all of that? 2. Has anyone tried Miracle 2000? I guess I've figured out that I think I know more than the doctors know. My post op sheet clearly says "NO VITAMINS until after your first pre-op appointment." Well screw that, why wait? Not only that I was starting to get this furry white coating on my tongue. I figured my mouth was just dry and I was getting dehydrated. I researched on the internet and found that a deficiency in B12 can lead to that. I don't want that. I want to curtail hair loss as much as possible. Any thoughts from the pros?
  11. Great Job! When I hit my first big goal my husband bought us a new living room set! I am 1 pound away from my goal weight not sure what I will do to celebrate that. Just want to mention that it may not be a good idea to buy shoes. I have gone down one whole size:)
  12. Sleep and drink...take your vitamins. Praying for a speedy recovery.
  13. Wonderful! That is a GREAT week!
  14. That is a great question. I should have asked that before my surgery. I feel kind of like I need to burp and then I know I am done. But I kind of think everyone is a bit different.
  15. don't really like them either but I ate them early one with a LITTLE crystal light in them (dont put too much in yuck).
  16. Beadingnurse is right...my surgeon doesn't allow his patient to take vitamins until week 3. Just concentrate on fluids. Proteins work at but don't stress about them. I remember posting almost the same post when I was a few days out.
  17. I was told that I would have to take a multi, B12 (weekly), B1, and 3 Calciums a day for the first 6 months. They watch my levels and if I need iron they will add it later. I just saw my surgeon and he said I am doing great and that if I can balance my diet a bit more (get more veggies and fruits in ) I dont have take my multi anymore.
  18. Praying for safe travels, successful surgery, uneventful upper GI, and a quick recovery.
  19. I wouldn't leave the house without my "hold me ins" on! LOL NOW, I'm buying clothes that FIT me, ones the "hug" my body and there are NO MORE "hold me's"! LOL That is what I call FREEDOM!!! Congratulations on all your success!
  20. Happy Anniversary! What a great anniversary present a "new" you!
  21. Praying for a great surgery and speedy recovery!
  22. Totally agree with Disney~ you need to try to stay off the scale! This isn't the diets you have done so many times. The weight is going to come off (if you stick to the program)! At first I was on the scale every time I went into the bathroom. Then I realized I don't need that drama anymore. The surgery is WAY different than any drama diet I have been on in the past! I am done with losing and regaining. This time when the weight does come off (how ever long it takes) it will not come back! I was told early out that all of our Dr and Nut have different programs and the best thing for you to do is follow yours closely! That was the best advice I have gotten here! Good Luck to you and make sure to let us know how you are doing. I'll bet you see 5 pounds off next week!
  23. Yay! Glad to hear you are feeling so well so soon after surgery! Took me weeks to feeling more energy! Look forward to hearing about your journey.
