  1. Well done on your success fo far... I am hearing you loud and clear...there are a couple of ways to get back on track: Track your food, as you eat currently for a couple of days... including the sweets... see how many cals, carbs and Protein etc you are getting... then adjust it accordingly - to what you feel comfortable with in terms of intake and quantity. This might take a week or two to tweek and work out what is best for you, but it is worth an try and if defo keeps you focused. As, you get full quick, then - if I am reading this right - you snack on sweets? - you draw up a 'meal plan' for the day... Say, brekkie - you usual cup of Water snack - protein cup of water lunch - ususal cup of water snack - protein cup of water dinner - usual snack - protein cup of water It might seem a little perscriptive, but it will keep you focused and hopefully too full to eat sweets? Diva has also put a boot camp, back to basics, thread on here, which a lot of people use to get rid of the carb/sweet monster... you could try that? Have you got much more to lose? Let us know how you are doing and what you decide... good luck =]
  2. Great topic... just bought and worn - in public - green skinny jeans... my goal jeans are either bench or Levi! =]
  3. Lacie, what an inspirational story... this is more than a NSV in my opinion... this is such a HUGE success. Although, I don't binge per se, I certainly used to use food as a crutch... so I can relate on a certain level. What I appreciated about your post was the 'realness' of it and the process you followed. You should be walking on air now... really, this is fantastic!!! With this train of thought, and how you overcame such an emotional issue, you really are gonna get to wherever you need to be! Congrats!!
  4. Ooops! I got that all wrong... I thought the pic was just before you were sleeved... july 10...lol... so your a year AFTER me...lol... oh well, the message remains! You look amazing...! I don't know where that 15lbs is gonna come from! =]
  5. So it looks like two sets of congrats are in order... first for the implants *turns green with envy...lol* and second for getting that pesky scale to move!! Well done on both! =]
  6. Hello, In the early days too much sugar made me go really 'funny'... I would get light headed and dizzy, sometimes have sweats! It wasn't pleasant at all. If you can stay away a little longer, I would if I was you. I understand the need for taste and flavour; could you try something different for the phase that you are currently in? I won't be long until you can chew again!! Good luck! =]
  7. Hey, we were sleeved at the same time... You look amazing... beautiful and sooooo slim! I presume you are at goal now...lol... Congrats on a job well done! =]
  8. Hmmm, this is very interesting for me! Just to put a different slant on things...please tell me to shut up if I don't make sense! I went into this surgery thinking that even 14lbs would be better than nothing (I am 19mths out now btw!) ... I have never lost more than 7lbs on any given diet at any given time... then, once I started to lose weight I too couldn't see myself at my ultimate goal of 13? - my surgeon's goal is 154 and I am 12lbs away and I still can't 'see' myself there... so, my point is, that if I can't SEE it, is that sunconsciously stopping me getting there? I have struggled to lose my weight, and I have had really down times...again, since the new year, I have been working on being more positive and focused on what I have ACHIEVED as apposed to what I haven't achieved as I did in the past. The to completely contradict myself, I have now started to think that I HAVE to make my surgeon's goal at least. I have started to think that getting my lil sleeve and spending a lot of money on it means that anything below goal is not good enough... I want to finish this job, to at least the first goal post. I haven't lost a pound since Oct and as of the new year I have been tracking my food, going back to basics and staying under 1200 cals (95% of the time) and still no movement on the scales or in my clothes. I know I have to get in the zone mentally and I have been working on this too... don't get me wrong, I am better than I was a year ago; more confident in myself and in who I am but I still struggle to see that 72lb loss some days. Other days I don't recognise myself in the mirror as I look completely different. It is really weird. I suppose what I am trying to say, is that if you can really believe in yourself, I feel, that you have a better chance of realising that goal, dream... whatever you want to call it! Good luck on your weight loss journey... and I agree, we are all very different! =]
  9. I am ared pepper... with an assortment of meat and fish! lol x
  10. You really do look amazing. You looked good before the sleeve... and your smile is beautiful, as are your teeth! What a great set of nashers you have.... keep smiling =]
  11. Globetrotter.... my oh my! Welcome back... Check you out at 130lb down... I am loving that!! You are a success!! (even though you don't feel like it you ARE...) well done my sleeve friend. Our stats are very similar, as is our slow loser journey! I am also around 13lbs away from my surgeon's goal at 20mths out. I've been stalled since Oct...booo hooo... but I too refuse to give up the fight. I am 28lb away from my ultimate goal. I feel your frustration... and I know what you mean when you say those last 'few' pounds (remember it is all relevant from where we started) bug the crap out of me too... I started a thread at the beginning of the year called 'Gonna get to goal, wanna join me' ... pop on board. It is just a place where a few of us, who want to get to goal this year, go to share, moan, vent or just Celebrate the little things that being so 'near goal' mean. I do find it helps me to stay focused, positive and motivated. It is really good to hear from you again, glad you back! Remember, slow but sure wins the race ... x
  12. Hiya, Lady push ups are half push ups; either on your knees in a box type shape... or on the knees where you lean forward! I can only do about 10 full push ups... but I am working on that and this challenge will help me. I think any thing that moves and shapes the muscles using resistance is all good... x
  13. hey Cludgie... I've done my sit ups... crunch style! I can do full ones but it pulls my back and bruises on my cox! I did them nice and slow, so plenty of control. I managed 110! Did 115 lady press ups, ones and did it in three sets with my 11yr old son cheering me on...lol! This is a great challenge for me as I can't rely on my groin/back to stay strong enough for me to train properly!!
  14. Love this challenge... the sit ups.. piece of cake...lol... thanks to my boxing training! If there was no fat on my tummy, I would have a fab 6 pack...hahahaa. Now, the push ups are another matter... do 'lady' ones apply? If so, I'm in...lol! x
  15. Sharon, I think this is an amazing idea. I don't have this kind of post op support system and as soon as my two years post op are up, my surgeon will completely discharge me from his 'care' - hmmm, not sure if that is the right word! So, I would be very interested to hear any news or information regarding the long term habits to remain successful. There is noooo way do I want to face a big gain!
  16. Yep! It is a great NSV, I agree with a lil vest underneath and away you go! You're looking great! Congrats x
  17. Hey Sleeve 4 me... sorry to hear your bad news, and I can understand why you are feeling down, Have they given you any advise on what to do from here on in?I'm think of you my lovely, and sending you love from across the pond x
  18. Good luck Amanda... looking forward to seeing the pics and hearing how you got on! =]
  19. As usual your posts makes soooo much sense. ouroborous, you defo think outside the box! Funny, as since Nov I've lost nothing, gained 4lb over christmas and only shed 2 of those... but this week I have had a lot of people asking me how much more weight I have lost...When I say that I haven't they are, shocked! Perhaps the gym is doing more good that I realise? I would love to get an accurate test for body composition but I ain't sure where to start in the UK!
  20. Yep! I agree with all of the above. You look younger and soooo happy and healthy! Congrats on a job well done! =]
  21. Hiya Dooter, yea it would seem that way ...lol My ticker reflects my surgeon's goal of 154lb and at 5 2 that would still leave me with a BMI of 28! To get to a 'normal' BMI I need to be at the highest 134lb. I know the BMI is only a guide and I would be chuffed to get to 154lb! But I can 'see' there is more than 13lb of body fat hanging around! *sighs* I haven't lost a pound since the end of Oct and I am at a bit of a loss as to why! *sighs again*. Still, I have renamed myself Coops the Determind!! Just wish this body of mine would co-operate with my head...lol
  22. I'm with dorrie on this... been eating between 800-1000 cals a day since the New Year and I haven't lost a pound... I've increased to 1200 this week to see if it makes a difference? I really don't understand it at all... any clarity would be much appreciated here too =]
  23. PapaBob. I love reading your story... you are such an inspiration! ANd I love the fact that you and your beautiful dog are continue to rake up the miles... good for you! Best of luck with the next 36lb and your next mile(s)! =]
  24. Oh Sleeve... your pictures sum it up for me! What a fantastic achievement! I am sooooo proud of you! And hey, who care about the rain...lol... You look sooooo fit and healthy! Congrats on getting that New Year resolution in the bag! x
  25. ava2011, frustration is the worst part of this! and 4 weeks with no movement is certainly frustrating. However, Lissa makes some great points...are you getting smaller? Take measurements as they can show a more accurate figure than the scales. When I stall, which I do frequently I tend to lose inches. I haven't lost a lb since the end of Oct but I've lost nearly 2 inches? - I am 19mths out now BTW! In the early days, and around the 6mths marker, my weight loss froze too...but I got smaller and dropped clothes size. This might just be a time for your body to readjust again...try not to get too stressed over it because I can tell you, from my experience, is that you will lose more. Have a look at Diva's bootcamp... that might help you kick start the weight loss again. Good luck and let us know how you get on =]
