  2. OMG.. that ate to much/food stuck feeling DOES NOT FEEL GOOD.. at all. I had a wonderful girls night out, mani/pedi, a little dinner.. and ruined it all by eating to much... The pain is horrible... Note to self.... let's not do that again......

What post op diet do you have to follow? I came out of the hospital with 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks mushy/puree, and 2 weeks almost regular. I'm now 3 weeks out, and know exactly how you are feeling. I about lost my mind towards then end of the full liquid stage. Dreaming about regular food, and craving a hamburger in the worst way(not the bun or condiments, just the hamburger). I walked extra on the treadmill to help with the cravings.. It will get better..
  4. 2 1/2 weeks later.. my NSV(non scale victory) is I am down 2 guchies sizes (for you non Western Pennsylvania people, that means underwear, and it is an actual word). :bananajump: Also.. do you celebrate your highest weight loss or what you weighed right before surgery or BOTH?? From when I started this journey 8 months ago, I am down 39lbs.. Since my surgery I am down 25lbs...
  5. I hear you.. but, I'm just saying it is what it is.. and in 4 weeks I know I will have that feeling and am just making the best of it for now. If you don't fill it yet, you will...
  6. If you do like pumpkin.. you could also do the recipe with a box of spice cake mix and pumpkin puree.. YUMMY
  7. I'm only 2 weeks out, and feel no restriction and am HUNGRY... I do not go for my 1st fill for another 4 weeks. I had 2 weeks full liquids, and am now on mushy for 2 weeks, and then start regular food. I CAN'T wait for that full feeling. I'm trying to be as patient as I can.. But, it's hard. The only thing that's saving me right now, is that I have 2 small children at home, and make them different food from me anyhow... So, seeing a meal I can't and shouldn't eat isn't right in front of me... Good Luck..
  8. Help!!! I can't get motivated to get my butt on the treadmill. I'm definitely a morning workout person. But, if I don't do it right away.. FORGET ABOUT IT!!! It's been 14 days since I was banded, and I think I was on the treadmill a total of 4 times. I have 2 small children (ages 3 & 4), and honestly don't get a second for myself all day. My husband and I have been talking about joining a gym, but not sure if we can afford it. I think it would be the best thing if we could. To be able to workout uninterrupted.. (I wonder what that would be like).... I go for my 2 week follow up on Tuesday. I recently had to have an emergency follow up, due to an infection at my port site. I was weighed and lost 10lbs in 9 days( yay!! GO me Go me).. But, I know if I don't get my butt moving this isn't going to turn out well.. How do you get yourself motivated??????
  9. my process took 6 1/2 months. 1st my husband and I attended a seminar at a hospital that I know does this surgery. The Doctor who gave the seminar is who I chose to go with. Set up an appointment, and had to decide if I was going to do weight loss with my PCP or do their lifestyle program. That was to appease my insurance. During the 6 month lifestyle class(that's what I chose to do), I completed all of my pre-op work up. chest x-ray, ekg, upper GI, sleep study, stress test, phyc eval and nutritional eval. Once I completed my 6th month lifestyle class. Off to the insurance for approval. With in a week, I received my surgery date which was the following 1 1/2 weeks later. I'm now 9 days post op, and feeling great that I made this decision.. God luck on your journey..
  10. I was just banded May 2nd. I feel bad for you. I didn't have any of that, and with the exception of a few days, have felt great. Walking helps to dissolve the gas pains, and I used a heating pad also. I hope you feel better soon..
  11. Today is Day 6 post op for me. Girl... I know what you mean by the growling stomach.. OMG, my husband thinks it's the most funniest thing, cause it's LOUD..Heat has been my friend for it, it seems to help me. I'm a TMI girl myself, and appreciate your honesty about your journey.
  12. I can't believe I feel this good, this soon. Started full liquids on Friday. The first day was a little rocky. But, by the end of the evening I think I figured it out. It will be nice to get some energy. I'm over being tired so quickly. Started the treadmill yesterday(day 5), only did 10mins @1.2mph.. I know don't get all excited now.. I didn't want to push it, cause i have been feeling that good. Today, I did 10 mins in the morning, and 20 mins this evening. This evening I bumped it up to 1.4mph and that was enough. Tomorrow I plan on doing 2/20mins walks. My meals for the next 2 weeks consist of these simple things. Breakfast - 4oz Carnation Instant (sugar free) Chocolate powder w/1/2 cup skim milk Between - water and 8oz protein shake (Worldwide pure protein, 35 grams protein, 4 grams carbs) Lunch - 4oz fat free yogurt Between - water and 8oz protein shake Dinner - 4oz low fat cream soup( I think I made it to thick yesterday, so I'll be thinning it down today) and then of course more WATER WATER WATER.....
  13. Congrats! Wishing you many blessing May 10th. Can't wait to hear about your journey!
  14. So far so good. Went in Monday (May 2nd) to get banded, and a new plication procedure done. Never had any nausea or vomiting, pain was a minimal. Released from the hospital Tuesday evening. Tuesday evening went well. Had a hard time finding a comfy spot to sleep in, in our bed. I think I was up every hour to hour 1/2. Wednesday was pretty good. I was starting to get a headache. I was drinking my water/liquids, but it definitely wasn't enough. I think all the sugar free things kind of got to me also. So, I started drinking plain apple juice and Gatorade. Once I think my body balanced back out, my headache went away. One more day of clear liquids, and then I can start full liquids. I'm excited to start the protein shakes, so I can get some energy.
  15. Good luck.. hope everything goes well..
  16. Hello All! Day 2 after being banded Monday(May 2nd). I feel great. So, thankful things have been this good. No nausea or vomiting. On day 1 of clear liquids. Start full liquids on Saturday, for 2 weeks. Energy's a little low, but expect that to pick up once I start on protein Saturday. Hope all of you have as great of an experience as I have so far. Looking forward to hearing everyone's journeys...
