My date is April 20. I am still needing my cardiologist to send approval for the surgery. He has done the testing and verbally told me all is great and he will give approval, but he has yet to give the written approval. I haven't had real problems with True Results. Sometimes the patient co-ordinator is hard to reach and sometimes I feel she should be more helpful. Maybe I am just a little demanding....but I am the patient!

I am to be banded in 2 weeks. I also just found out my breast implants have to be removed and replaced. Just wondering if anyone had breast implants soon after banding? And if so how long did you wait after being banded? I need to get my implants replaced pretty quickly due to probably leak.

My BMI is 32 and i am going the self pay route. I am not waiting until I have a BMI of 35-40 which is where I am heading. I have high blood pressure, take two meds for that. Extreme lower back pain and knee pain. Diabetes also runs in my family. Good luck!

I am so very happy all is well now. I was really nervous because my story is almost exactly the same as yours and my surgery is scheduled for April 20th. I have right at 50 pounds to loose (maybe a little more) and am a self pay. Sometimes i am so scared, but mostly I just know I have to get this done so I can live and enjoy my life again. I have very high blood pressure, take two different meds for that, and tons of lower back and knee problems. I am 54 years old and raising 4 grandkids, one is just 19 months old so I need to run around like I am 25 again!!

Please let us know how you are doing. I am sorry you are having so much pain.

I am looking for anyone here in Houston that may be getting banded in the near future or maybe you just got banded. I am looking for a band buddy. This forum is great but I would really like to have a buddy that is nearby. Thanks!

Yes yes yes!!!! I got clearance from my cardiologist today!!!! i am scheduled for April 20th!! I am so excited!!

I am in Houston and using True Results. I paid the $150 to them and that was for the blood work which was done at Quest Diagnostics.

Yes 48 is close enough. I have told one good friend and one family member. Both are mostly against the surgery but I am getting it anyway just as soon as my Doc says OK!!!

Thanks for your replies! I was beginning to think I am too old for this. I have a stress test/electrocardiogram scheduled for March 31 and then hopefully my cardiologist will clear me for surgery!

I am looking to talk with others in their 50's that either are trying to be banded or already have the band. I am a 54 year old lady in Houston Texas. I am a self pay and just trying to get cardiologist approval at this time. I would like to hear back from others in this age group. If you are in Texas even better!!! Thanks

I am so hoping to be an April Bandster!!! Gotta get electrocardiogram and stress test then doctor clearance. Tests are scheduled for March 31st. I am praying and nothing is seriously wrong and to be cleared for surgery after these tests!

I am considering surgery in Mexico also. The doctors seem to care much more than anyone I have dealt with in the USA. True Results makes me feel like just a number and I get the feeling they don't care about anything but he $$$$$$$$$$. The only problem I am having is with the fills. I can't travel back to Mexico for fills. Makes me think I am just stuck using these uncaring folks here in Texas!
