  1. Dang, Girl! How on earth have you lost 52 pounds so far! Good for you!!! That's awesome! What a great start!! I made some homemade beef and turkey broth and froze it it little one-cup containers I also have baby spoons and forks from my 2 year old! And i need to go out and get little half-cup dishes. I also want a mug warmer for my desk when I come back to work on pureeds so I can drink my strained Soups slowly without them getting cold before I can finish them! I also have to get SF popsicles, Gatorades, etc. Oh, and a good Protein drink, too. Probably vanilla so I can mix it with everything. My mom already got me a Magic Bullet, bless her little . Oh, and I got a Tervis Tumbler from Bed Bath and Beyond.....those ROCK!! Getting so close. I have to admit, my tummy has butterflies for our sisters who have their surgery on the 3rd/4th. Thought I was all prepared after this looooonnnng journey, but then I realized if that was me, I'd have the jitters.....and I'm a tough nut, as my hubby says!!
  2. Hang in there, Missy....I've heard day 3 is the worst, then it gets better/easier after that.....
  3. Welcome, 5! So glad you are here! How is the pre-op diet going? All liquids, or does your doc allow some food? You hanging in there? I've heard day 3 is the worst.
  4. Thanks, Holiday! Good luck with the diet...let us know how you are doing....hang in there and be strong!!
  5. Hey, Pixie and Courtines! Welcome, welcome, welcome to our little club! Wow, a lot of us on the 10th! Soooooo excited for us all :cheer2: I can't wait to follow your journeys! We all have to be sure to come back and let the others know how you're doing, what you're going through, etc. It will keep those of us that are later in the month sane!!
  6. OMG Lisa, my turkey dinner was AMAZING, lol! I am still eating turkey sammiches and I made a big pot of soup and broth to freeze for later! I'm glad I got it out of my system. Now i won't be all forlorn on Thanksgiving when everyone is gorging themselves...I can have my baby plate, a few bites, and I'll be just fine!
  7. So glad you joined us, Kay! I have to admit, the nana with the boobs totally made me laugh out loud!!! So exciting! You are only two days before me...I'm on the 20th! Like you, I've been so obsessed with the surgery, but it's been over 6 months for me....will be so glad when the waiting is over and we'll be on the other side! I don't have to do a preop diet, either, but I'm going to do a quasi one. The more I can help my surgeon, the better off I'll be!! So 'cited for all of us!!
  8. Welcome, Tiny!! So glad you are here and part of our group!! I'm getting nervous and my surgery is on the 20th.....phew the, 3rd!! I have butterflies for you! But I know it's all SO worth it....it will be exciting to follow your journey and then have you there for advice when us later-in-the-months have our surgery! What are you doing to prepare? I have to admit, I made a big turkey dinner this last Saturday to get my holiday joneses out, lol!!! It was SOOOOOO good, and it's in plenty of time before my pre-oop diet. And I made a bunch of homemade turkey broth/soup to freeze for later! And mashed potatoes and gravy to freeze for the mushy stage!
  9. Hey, guys! So i've seen a couple of the Youtube 'chronicles'. Which ones are your favorites? I'd like to find a good one to start with and follow...some of the ones I've seen haven't been very helpful, but I know there are tons out there! Any suggestions would be great! A couple more days closer!! Whoo hooo!!
  10. Welcome! To answer your question, there is a whole forum dedicated to band-to-sleeve revisions on here....just scroll down on the main page till you see it....you will find TONS of info there! And many, many great, uplifting stories! Good luck!!
  11. That's hilarious.....know why? I"m making a turkey dinner this weekend That's right, with all the trimmings, lol!! I thought and thought and thought over these past 6-7 months what I would REALLY miss when it came to food....would I miss eating half a pizza? Nope. Would I miss eating a cheeseburger and fries? Nope. Would I miss cheesecake and Cookies? Nope. But what I would miss was eating Thanksgiving dinner, then going back to nibble at the turkey, and the turkey bun sammiches the next couple of days. Sooooo......this weekend is it. My very last hurrah. I don't believe in the last supper syndrome...I will be good for the two weeks before my surgery, and have been pretty much good for over six months, but I do want my turkey dinner!! I know I'll be able to have a little bit come Thanksgiving, but not much at all, probably just a couple of bites, but now I know I'll be okay with it!! And next year, I'll be able to 'normal' just a lot less. My hubby is happy because he will get two Thanksgiving's this year
  12. Too funny, Lisa, me too! I have a list for what to bring to the hospital, what to get at the store before I go, what to do until then (organize clothes, make homemade chicken and beef broth and freeze in individual containers, make sure to have clean sheets ). Got lists of what to eat, like you, lots to choose from so I don't get bored in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. I'm lucky my doc doesn't require a pre-op diet, but I'm still gonna do a low-carb, low-fat for 2 weeks before the surgery, just cause I want to do whatever I can without suffering. For those that had the two-week liquid diet, I feel for ya!!! Man.....torture. SOOOOOO freakin' excited to go on this journey with you guys!
  13. Smoky, me too!!!!!! October 20, though. So excited! We need to get our October board moving and shaking! So 'cited to sit on the loser's bench with you!!
  14. Whoo hooo!!! Just called BCBSIL today and they sent the approval letter off to the surgeon! My surgery date is October 20. Almost one month from today. Gosh, a whole 'nother month. Ah, well, it should go by fast...I hope! I really didn't expect it to be this easy (except for the looonggg 6 month diet part). I was fully expecting to be denied and have to appeal. My surgeon's office just submitted my claim last Wednesday!!! Holy moly!!! I just can't wait to join everyone on the loser's bench! Now I'm starting to get butterflies. I was at first worried more about the actual surgery, and the very, very minimal possibility of leaving my beautiful little boy without a mommy, but you know what? Now I'm starting to realize that I'm kinda scared of the unknown....I have never, never been thin. Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic at the possibility, and I'm a very strong person that totally embraces change, but that's why it's so weird for me to feel a little shaky about this. I know that I will be changing so much, not only physically, but mentally, too. It's going to be an exciting journey, that's for sure!!! I can't wait to get on this roller-coaster ride and just goooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Yay, Beach!!! Come and join us on the October sleevers board!! So, so happy for you!!! :cheer2:
  16. Yay!!! Whoo hoo!! Congrats, KC! I'll be watching you to see how everything goes since you'll be two days ahead of me!!!
  17. Look out, everybody!! I'm coming to join you on the loser's bench soon!! Oh, and I can't WAIT to be there!!! SO 'cited!!! :cheer2: I know I'll be all nervous about a week out, but for now I am just bursting with hopeful anticipation of what my new life will bring!!! Love you guys and am SO GLAD you are all here...without you, I would have gone absolutely batsh*t crazy over these last 7 or so months!!! Pardon the term... :becky: My insurance hasn't technically approved me yet, should come early next week....but there's no reason why they would deny me. Just waiting for that last hurdle and I'll be FREEEE!!!!!
  18. Hey, Terry! I'm 10 days behind you, on the 20th. So excited to finally be here! I know the nerves will set in about a week before hand....Coming up quick, though! What other appts do you have?
  19. Thinking about you, Momo...today is/was your day!!! Hope all is well, Sunshine. Jenni! October baby just like me.....10/20 is my date. Heller, any updates??
  20. Whoo hoo, Princess! I just got my date two days ago, too. October 20th for me!! I'm local, though, not going to MX. Can't wait to share all of our October successes!!!
  21. Hey, Jenn!!! Nope, having mine local, but I'm scheduled for the 20th! What date is your surgery??
  22. Yay, KC!! Mine's on the 20th!! We'll have to keep in touch!!! Let us know as soon as you have your date!!
  23. Hi, everybody!!! So I just moved over here after saying goodbye to my Sept Sleevers. Was pretty active on that board until I found out yesterday my surgery will be October 14! Sucks I have to wait even longer, but at least it's still close!! Can't wait to get to you know you all and begin our journeys together!!
  24. So, my beauties, I have to leave this board and go to the October Sleevers board. I am so, so sad. First, because I have to wait EVEN longer, and second, because I have got to know you all and already feel close *sniff* Good news is that I have a date, 10/14, but I will miss you guys. I mean, we're not going anywhere, we're still all here, but you know....it's like moving to a new school. Sooooo, I guess I'll go post on the October Sleevers board. There's only 8 topics on there so far....oh, I hope there's an 'organizer' like we had for the roster and such. See you guys in main forums! Good luck on your journeys and I'll be joining you soon - just a little late, is all!!!
  25. Okay, everyone...I have waiting for this day for SOOOO long!!! I've watched everyone with their submittals, consequent approvals, scheduled date, etc, and now it's my turn!! Oh my gosh, is this for real?? Finally??? After researching WLS for 10 years, waiting through the 6 month pre-surg diet plan, etc, etc. So all is a go, my surgeon is writing the letter of necessity today, to be sent with my packet to BCBSIL early next week. They are going to let me set a tentative surgery date contingent on approval, of course. Oh, man. The roller coaster ride is now starting, please fasten your belts, people! You're gonna be hearing a lot from me now, lol!! Love you all so MUCH and thanks for being here!!!
