  1. I was banded on 5/23 and still get lots of gas. I find the hot water bottle helps a lot. My surgeon also prescribed prevacid that dissolves in water. Let's see if that helps.
  2. Well.. It was dark clots and now it's the bright red blood. So if this continues tomorrow then I will have to go to the ER. Thanks for all the advice and comments
  3. That's what I'm going thru jrsy. It should be ok. Thanks for sharing your experience.
  4. Thanks Acadia... Sounds logical.
  5. Thanks for the reply Rachel. I'm just starting to cough up the phlegm that was and is rumbling around in my chest. Its scary to keep seein al this blood. I guess I'll give it a lil more time. See what happens.
  6. I realize and understand I was intubated and that's the cause of the blood in the phlegm, but should it still be coming up almost 3 days post op? Anyone else experience this? Thanks in advance.
  7. I understand how you feel stuntmonkey. That was on my mind too when I was preop. But I figured with all the labs they keep taking from me, they are definitely going to see it and that doesn't look good. Just eat like youre supposed to and you will definitely lose weight. By the way I get banded this afternoon! :-)
  8. Thank you so much Jennifer1! I'm feeling the butterflies a lil bit but overall I'm excited. Good luck to u too Peter! Catch u all on the other side!

Lol I live in the Bronx and I'm having my surgery done at Montefiore hospital at 2 55 pm. So most likely I will also be staying the night.

  13. I'm getting banded on Monday and am all ready and sooo excited. Love to hear all this positivity on how everyone is recuperating.
  14. Don't worry. You're gonna lose that 6 or 7lbs very quickly if u follow the pre op diet precisely.
  15. Thanks sooooo much Sandi
  16. Im already clear with my insurance. Im approved already. My pcp is requesting it before he clears me.
  17. Hmmm... I must try that. Dbl choc sounds good.
  18. May 23rd is my date also! Good luck to u! What shakes are u using? I'm struggling through them also. I'm using anywhey.
  19. Very good luck to you today! My thoughts are definitely with you. That's a great idea taking the pictures. I need to do the same. Buy some measuring tape too.
  20. I am to be banded on May 23 and I will be practicing the Fletcherize method. Great idea. and book.
  21. Hello Jenn, my fellow sister bandster. I am also set to be banded on May 23rd and I am sooo ready. Also gagging through the pre-op diet. I've slipped a bit but managing to lose 5 lbs in 4 days so It's all good. And when i say slip i meann just minor things. Remember what caused u to look this route in the first place. And stay focused on it. I'm 29 years old and the only regret i have is not doing the surgery sooner. I've wasted so much time where I could really be LIVING! sigh, but at least I'm on it now. One last hurdle on Wed gotta get a stress test done, but hopefully I will ace it! Good luck to you on your surgery .. please PM and we can compare notes.
  22. I'm stressing about this also. Was squeezed in for a stress test on this coming wed morning but my surgery is the following Monday! I hope this also doesn't push my date back. Sighhh... just when I retired my sneakers cuz I thought the hurdle jumping was done!
  23. Yes I did all that, but my pcp set me up for a stress test. Wonder why. I also don't have any pre existing conditions or illnesses so I don't know what to make of it. But he said dont worry. I trust him.
  24. Hey Lee, noticed you are from.NY too! Whos your surgeon and where are u being banded if u don't mind? I'm pre op.myself, surgery 5/23 at Monte with Dr Choi.
