I realize and understand I was intubated and that's the cause of the blood in the phlegm, but should it still be coming up almost 3 days post op? Anyone else experience this? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply Rachel. I'm just starting to cough up the phlegm that was and is rumbling around in my chest. Its scary to keep seein al this blood. I guess I'll give it a lil more time. See what happens.

It can stick around for a week or so - but, if it's ever bright red with fresh clots, get to the ER.

You need to see a doctor, not wait it out. Coughing up blood is not normal. Being intubated should not cause that.

I coughed up blood for about 4 days, not frequently but when I coughed it was there. You should be fine as long as it's not bright red. If it continues after a week call your doctor.

Well.. It was dark clots and now it's the bright red blood. So if this continues tomorrow then I will have to go to the ER. Thanks for all the advice and comments

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
