  1. I think it is also retraining the brain. I had 2 pizzza's looking me in the face last weekend for about 15 mins. I reminded myself that was my favorite food now I don't eat that. We use to have pizza every Friday night. I can't get back into that old habit. I am 2.5 wks post-op. I am thinking crustless pizza for a treat one day for a special treat. For me is more about the cheese... Last night I made meatless buffalo tenders with fat free blue cheese - yummy! Just have to be creative! Good luck all! K
  2. TylerAshton, I would suggest you both see a councilor to see if this relationship is worth it. My hubby and I are best friends but just after my surgery we had a big miss understanding. I think we both were stressed just after my surgrey. My husband and I have a strong love. We are both confident about our love and don't have to question it. I point out cute girls to him all the time because most of the waitresses are dressed for the part with their boobs in your face...! Best of luck! K

2 week’s post-op – all is going well. I am down another 7.5 lbs since surgery on Feb 9 for a total of 22.5 lbs. Stitches are dissolving and can be gone now! I have become the puree queen! I have become very creative and like my creations. I carry food with me when I am out and about so I never get in a tough situation. This is working really well. Last night was my first business meeting dinner with some good friends & business contacts. OMG can you say a sticky situation. I thought I would be able to eat slowly... I ordered an appetizer with shredded pork. I ate slowly and all of sudden it got stuck. Not only did it get stuck but I started to feel faint and light headed. I didn’t want to pass out. I didn’t want to alert my dinner friends so I just sucked up and thank god it passed. Today I still feel full and still stuck. I am going to stay with a liquid & puree diet for the next 48 hours as well as a nice walk today. Maybe next time Greek or Mexican may be better choices. I hope to get my first fill in the next 3-4 weeks.
  4. I am 2 week post-op and I had problems with oatmeal but no problem with cream of wheat & it is yummy! I puree everything! I also eat very slow with a teaspoon. Good luck!
  5. I am hungry being 2 weeks post-op. I just eat frequent low cal meals often. I have pureed veggies, broth & jello.
  6. Hi all, My BFF needs a fill doctor in Vancouver as she was banded in the USA. Know of anyone? Thanks, Kristi
  7. I was just banded at False Creek Medical. The have no wait and are great. If you need more info please contact me. I was just banded on Feb 9, 2011.
  8. Yes, Mt St, Joesphs this Thursday @ 7pm. All info under support groups. If you can't find the info let me know as I am running late. I was banded Feb 9 and I am attending this Thursday. I live in Richmond.
  9. Hi all - my nurse said it is a sign of over doing it.
  10. I have the same thing too. I was banded Feb 9th. I thought maybe I over did it. Not sure if it is my big stitch or the bandages but today I have more of a rib cage ache. I might call my nurse but I mentioned it to her and she didn't flag it.
  11. I would wait until you reach your goal weight. I am 44 yrs old & 44DD. I hope to get back to a 38C. Age may change this. Is so then I will get my boob reduction then. I to could have one now too but I would like to do natural first.
  12. Dancingnancyva, It is hard the first 3 days then it gets easier. You can do it! Stay focused on the prize & end result! The headaches will go away. You will start to feel good. I didn't make any plans during my pre-op diet so I was put in tough situations. Stay strong! K
  13. Glad you are doing well too. I am too just getting the hang of this website. Good recovery!
  14. also flouo when filling to see might help. But I would try the pouch test first. Good luck!
  15. I also like the Special K protein drinks - 5g's
  16. Lozzer2b, I am glad all went well. Mine did to. I was off for a walk to bathroom 30 mins after surgery. How is your soreness? Mine isn't too bad just upper stomach/chest. I didn't need any pain killers after either. Wish you a good rest of the week! How are the others who were banded this week? Hope all is week. Cheers, K
  17. Just stay strong. Once you get to the clinic they can give you drug to calm your nerves. I am being banded today. I am so thirsty, have a head ache, a little sad as I am scared as I have never had surgery, kind of just numb & tears of joy. Big treat this morning I am going to have a long shower! Good luck & see you on the band side sisters! Bigs hugs to all. K
  18. I am a migrane suffer. Today is my surgery day. I had bruttle headaches. The worst is today - no food or drink. I found what helped was to just drink Water. I drink 2-3 litres a day. When I get up I have a cup of water with lemon to start the day, then my Breakfast, coffee only after I have water and a bit of food. Then coffee & water sip between both. During the day if my headache was worse I would drink water & broth. Good luck! K
  19. I am feeling really good. Down another pound. I have been exercising and following the pre-op diet. I can't beleive that I haven't cheated. This is the first diet that hasn't derailed. I have my husband to thank. He did the same diet. He has had meals here and there. Not to mention popcorn & a big bag of chips. The movie popcorn that I love, instead I bring jello to eat. I am already counting the months that I can have a kernal or 2. August is the 6 month mark. On the weekend. My hubby bought a huge bag of Maui chips - one of my favorite. It didn't bother me as he ate them in the car beside me. I said the smell is so great I feel like I am eating them. I have truly turned the corner! Right now I have tears of joy. Yes, tomorrow is the start of my new journey when I take my life back! I am scared of failing. I am a very positive person and can always visualize the future of what I want but sucess is the truth. I have to complete this goal or I won't live very long. This path of self destruction is not healthly. Here I come!
  20. Hey band sister I am feb 9 too. Stay positive. I haven't told people very much including my family as I don't want people asking a milion questions or telling me not to get it done. After the surgery I will tell more people like my family and close friends. Then I am scared people will keep asking me how I am doing with weight loss. I don't need to be asked or grilled from everyone. My BFF & sister have been banded for 7 years. My BFF is my biggest support as we have been dieting together for 28 years. We also have a girls trip planned for May, which is a great goal. Good luck band sister! I will be thinking of you & the other sisters! K
  21. Hey I am wed at 10am too band sister! Good luck! See you on the other side! K
  22. Thanks god for this site as it takes up time so I don't think about how hungry I am. I more day & then I am banded. Hang in there all!
  23. Glad things are going well. I am pre-op day 14 down 11 lbs & 6.75 inches. Just got my surergy time of 10am for wed to be banded. I have worked out every day. I just had some yummy veggies that I stir fried with balsamic vinegar. I am really excited about the next phase. 2 more sleeps & 1 more day of work before the big banding.
  24. Where do you live? As they are other clinics that may charge lower but you most likely looking at $17 K self pay for Vancouver, BC at False Creek Medical.
