  1. So sorry Kaitlyn. I hope that Jake is right and you can still join. Congrats on losing most of your excess weight tho. I hope you are proud of yourself! I'm sure that you will find a rewarding career, military or not. You are still young and the world is your oyster! Good luck and have a safe and happy holiday!
  2. Hello all! My Dr wants me to use a protein powder to ensure I'm getting 60-80 grams per day. I'm hoping to mix it into foods I'm already eating, like yogurt or anything else mushy. Is there a flavorless protein powder out there? I went to gnc and they tried to sell me chocolate, but I'm just so sick of chocolate shakes! Lol! Thanks for your help! Merry Christmas!
  3. I didn't lose anything my first week. I was bummed! Being on a liquid diet, I thought for sure I'd lose something, but our bodies are funny things.
  4. I'm also in the mushy stage and I've been eating yogurt a lot. I've also tried homemade applesauce and for dinner, I'm just eating what I make for my family and mushing it up. I have not tried any red meat as of yet.
  5. I'm 8 days post op and my appt is today. I'm hoping he will peel these suckers off! I'll keep you posted!
  6. I really just want to rip these things off! I go tomorrow for my post op, so I guess I'll let the dr take them off.
  7. I had the same problem and then I peeled that anti nausea patch off and I was back to normal in a few hours. Also, those patches make your mouth so dry I thought I was going to die! Lol!
  8. Go for a walk around your house! It really helps to get the gas moving! Feel better!
  9. Ugh! It's going around! I'm sick too!
  10. I was banded on 12/15 and the first thing I ate after my 7 days of liquids was mashed potatoes. I didn't get sick or anything. In fact, it tasted like the best meal of my life! Lol!
  11. I was banded on 12/15 too and I'm the exact same weight as I was the day of surgery. It is frustrating! I just started my puree diet and I'm hoping just changing the foods I'm eating will help. I guess we'll see!
  12. Omg Joe! I'm starving now! Lol!
  13. Linnie- I had my surgery on Dec 15 and didn't get approval until about 4pm on the 14th! I was freaking out! My fingers are crossed for you!!
  14. Happy birthday! How funny that we were both there on 12/15 and both with Dr P! Kim is great! I really like all of the staff, I haven't had a bad experience. I have not tried the support group yet, but glad to know it's good!
  15. This sounds terrible! I was just banded on 12/15/10 and have the Realize band as well. This makes me nervous. I wish I got the lap band!
  16. I'm feeling really good. I'm gonna try tonight! Thanks!
  17. I used to always sleep on my belly, but since I've been banded 12/15/10, I'm trying to sleep on my side. My incisions look and feel good. How long should I wait before sleeping on my belly?
  18. My hubby and I don't buy gifts for eachother either, but Santa always fills our stockings, usually with candy! I'm newly banded and this year Santa is bringing new makeup and hair ties and some barrettes! We'll save the candy for the kids! Merry Christmas!
  19. I'm still on the liquid diet, I was banded on 12/15. I'm sleeping for like 2 hours, then I wake up, walk around, go to the bathroom and back to bed for 2 hours. It's weird! I never used to have that problem!
  20. Dr P is absolutely awesome! He has a great sense of humor. He explains everything so that the patient really understands. He is kind and truly made me feel that he cared about me. His office staff is equally as impressive. They are always available to answer questions. I was banded on 12/15/10 and would recommend him to anyone considering Wls.
  21. I was also banded on 12/15 and am on a liquid diet. Just added protein shakes. I haven't had a BM yet. Im not feeling gas pain any more, but my belly does look like a balloon. I'm not having any pain though! I gained 11 pounds in the hospital and have finally lost it and I'm back down to where I started. I'm excited to start working out but dr said just walking until I see him again. So, I've been trying to do 30 mins a day on the treadmill.
  22. Yeah, I'm urinating normally too. It must be just because we're only on liquids. I'm still going to call the dr tomorrow and I'll post what he tells me.
  23. I'm newly banded, but my dr gave me a lot of info about what to eat at each stage. In the final stage it says to eat about 1 cup of food 3 times a day plus 48-64 ounces of water. I hope this helps you and your girlfriend!
