  1. I was banded in December. I have had 2 fills and never had my band checked with barium or flouroscope...should I insist that this is done.
  2. I was banded 12/16 - I have lost 23 lbs...so happy. I just had my second fill yesterday. After my first fill I could eat nothing but mushie for 3 days, Had my second fill yesterday and sure enough I have not been able to eat anything today except musshie...oatmeal (liquidy) got stuck...I tough it out for a few days and then I seem fine. More than anything I want this to work and I have to continually remind myself of my goal. The only episodes I have had have been self induced - eating too much too fast. My doctor and more importantly his staff have been there for me for every question I have had...maybe you want to find a new doctor?
  3. what is an NSV?,,,sorry I am new and not very computer literate
  4. thank you so much for your reply here. I was banded 12.16.10 after fighting with insurance for 2 years !! I had my first fill 1.16.11 and since then although clearly not at the right place I am feeling the band do something, I have lost 23 pounds since the week before surgery but am starting to feel a difference in my clothes...obviously they were too tight before. I am constantly second guessing myself as to whether or not I should have done this..but most of those feelings are based on what other people think, I have told many people that i was banded and now find myself afraid to see them because I think they expect to see a tremendous difference when in reality I am still wearing the same clothes but I can breathe....after one month on this journey the one thing I know for sure is I need to see a therapist I am going to succeed in spite of myself
  5. Thanks for the words of encouragement - have you had a fill? I am hoping that will get things going...I think I will cry if he says no fill
  6. I wish you the very best and hope that things start moving for you.
  7. I was banded Dec 16. My weight before starting the preop diet was 240. On the day of surgery weight was 228. One week later at my first post-op visit I was 228.4. My doctor said that was good because he used over 6 pounds of fluids during surgery. I was told at that visit to eat anything I could smash with a fork for one week then move to solids. Today January 7 my weight is 220.3. I have my first fill on January 17. I am worried that I am not losing as much as I see others on this board. I am so afraid that I am going to be one of the people who does not lose even after being banded.
  8. I had my surgery the 16th of Dec. I have had no fill so am feeling hungry. Had my follow up Dec 23 - Dr. told me I could eat anything I can mush with a fork for one week and then regular food. I am trying to count calories but so discouraged as the weight is slow in coming off. I feel like I spent 18,000 dollars for nothing,,,,cant wait for fill on 17 January
  9. my surgery was the 23rd - still have shoulder pain too - not as bad as it was - managed with tylenol
  10. I had surgery 12/16 and will have my first fill on 1/17. I am very anxious because I now feel hungry and can eat anything,,,have lost 2 pounds since surgery
  11. i was banded on the 16th and had my follow up on the 23rd. I followed the liquid exactly and was up 4 ounces at the checkup. My doctor told me that was great because he had used over 6 pounds of liquid during the surgery and everything would be fine. I hope so
  12. Thank you all for posting,,,I am in the same boat- was banded 12/16 and the hunger is coming back ...no fill until 1.17
  13. Good Luck. I was banded Dec 16 2010 and feel great. Best decision ever !!
