Hey there, My misery has had nothing to do with eating. Food wise nothing has bothered me but I have behaved and stuck to the stuff on my list.. hasn't been that hard. Loaded up on the sugar free jello/pudding, tuna, baked frozen fish, protein drinks, smoothie drinks etc. have had no trouble with any of it... ATTENTION: THE FOLLOWING IS GRAPHIC AND ABOUT YEAST INFECTIONS SO MALE READERS/ EASILY OFFENDED/GROSSED OUT JUST MOVE ON PAST THIS POST PLEASE. The antibiotic they gave me to take every 8 hours has absolutely REAKED HAVOC on my body. I don't normally get yeast infections. I'm 37 and have had about 8 in my life and have NEVER had thrush. I SHOULD have known, that if my mouth was overloaded as bad as it was with the thrush that I needed to go ahead and treat my other end for a yeast infection. I'm telling you what, I have NEVER had one EVER that was this bad. I had to leave early from work today and by the time I got home I was boohooing like a big baby. I'm like raw shredded meat down there and am even a little bloody. I took a prescription oral pill for this on Tuesday and it doesn't seem to be helping. My DH, thank god, came home this afternoon (he travels) and got me some maximum strenth itch/burn stuff then went back later after I boo hoo'd and cussed when I had to tinkle, to buy the 3 day treatment stuff. I have been using ice packs on it as well and that seems to help. It seems the worst around my ureathra and clit. It was murder when he was putting on the topical stuff. I'm calling the doc tomorrow, though, I don't think there is anything else we can do since I'm already using the prescrip stuff. I am going to make note of the name of this antibiotic that I was given so I don't ever take it again. Am I the ONLY one this has happened too? I haven't read about anyone else going through this on my feb & march post. For those of you not yet banded... please speak with your doc about the possibility of getting a yeast infection and see if there are any preventative measures you can take or maybe you can at least get some supplies to prepare for the possibility. After you are banded, if you find that your mouth/tongue starts getting sore and discolored.. PLEASE call your doc and don't wait like I did. I'm really paying for it now. Tracy

I LOVE MAIN COONS!!! THEY ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAV BREED OF CAT. I've never had the honor of actually owning one but will one day. I love all animals but cats are my #1. I have two from the past that I still miss to this day. One calico persian we got from the humane society when she was about 4 months old, we had to put down when she was around 12 or 13. HORRID. I'm the one that had to take her in, thinking she had FIP only to find out she had a tummy tumor and hadn't been eating or anything else. My 1st actual furchild was my beautiful baby Peaches. My mom used to breed himalayan persian (sorry had to google to spell right) and I had peach from the v. beginning. He was a cream point and the love of my life. I had to put him down last year... he was 15 and it was absolutely THE hardest f'in thing I have EVER had to do. Even though he was really sick i still doubted myself as to whether or not I did the right thing. WHICH.. brings me to my next topic that I will ask opinions... ok, at the time Peach died, I wanted to have him creamated, but couldn't afford it so, some close friends of mine owned 5 acres 4 of which were wooded and we would have outdoor circle and stuff for holidays.. very special place, so, since I rented, and couldn't think where to place him, called them and they said bring him out. I gathered herbs from my balcony garden, bought yards of special fleece material to wrap him in, bought some cedar planks, found two huge slabs of rock and away we went. I put a faery statue on the top (should have glued it but didn't). To make a long story short... it was a beautiful spot. 2 months later.. the land owners went through a NASTY divorce. He ended up with the land and has now decided to sell. OH MY GOD> Well, here is my query. My DH has family land in Scottsville KY..32 acres to be exact, that will be ours.. wooded, hilly has a creek. His mom found out about peach the day after and said.. bring him here. Well we had already buried him so it was no big. Well now SWEET DH has offered to move him. I want to.. BADLY... however, si that crazy? would y'all? I can't visit the site (I don't have kids.. I have FURchildren, so to me, this was like losing my child). I don't want him to be dug up by developers in a couple of years. The area is booming and they are buying up land like crazy. Even though DH has offered, I'd feel guilty to say YES YES>> PLEASE go dig up my baby and move him to a safe place, but feel kind of guilty if I have him do it. It will be 2 yrs in June so It won't be 'gross' for him.. plus I had him wrapped up pretty good and covered in herbs and stuff. What do y'all think? Am I crazy to want to move him? I do realize that no everyone is pet crazy. All my life, our animals have always been more than pets... they were family members, and even though I have two BEAUTIFUL girl cats now, they aren't my Peach. sorry this was so long. Thanks Tracy

Someone at work asked me why we had to take it... "What, do they think you are going to try and wear the band on your head or something?" BCBSTN requires it so I took it. I'm a kitchen witch/pagan and though *I* myself do not hear voices or see dead people, I do know people that do and I was thinking crap.. they would haul them off in a rubber truck. Also lots of questions leaning toward mulitple personality stuff.. one of them was something like "Do you ever feel like you are more than one person?" HMMMMM let me see.. I weigh over 300 pounds.. don't most people that weigh over 300 lbs feel like more than one person....?

Thanks for the update and HANG IN THERE! This is a life change thing so relatively speaking... July isn't that far off...ok.. I know it is.. I'm just trying to be encouraging and it's probably not helping. I hate that you are having to wait but I'd much prefer you to be taken care of with someone with more experience. I'm curious.. where do you live? I'm in Nashville. I used Dr. Charles Morton at Baptist/Southern Hills and he has done over 1,000 now with only 12 slips and no erosions and he's only had to replace two bands and remove two bands. Not bad for having done over 1,000. I also had MINIMUM gas pains and no bruising. T

Actually, the place I visit has Mystic tanning but I think it looks orangy. It would be optimal for fair skinned or those who have melnoma in their family history. I usually go once a week, I'm olive complected and don't burn, and I think tan fat looks better than white and while I'm this huge, it makes me feel better about being sans clothing in front of DH. I do know the dangers of sun/tanning and try not to over do it. I get checked once a year by a dermatologist to check for spots and my DH keeps a pretty good look out for anything that might change (moles n such). I went tonight and placed two towels over my tummy. In a couple of weeks I'm going to use big heart stickers and place them over my spots. Who knows... maybe when I drop a 100 lbs or more, I might feel better about myself and not feel the need to tan.

I'm a tanner... and I was wondering about what to do about my incisions post op. I ran across this on the internet and am GLAD I did. I will be covering my incisions with those cute little stickers. Better to have shapes all over my belly than to promote the healing of my incisions/scars... I tan and found this to be helpful. Sunning, Tanning Booths, & Surgery While having a golden tan is lovely to look at - it damages the skin. Tanning is a personal choice, but it's important to know the results of doing so in conjunction with your surgery. No one ever healed skin cancer by getting a tan. If tanning improved our skin there would be no need for sunscreens and all the media messages about skin cancer we hear daily. Stay out of the sun before your surgery You want your skin to be in good shape so that you can have the best chances for healing. Suntanned skin does not promote well-healed incisions. Stay out of the sun after your surgery Sun on your new incisions will turn them permanently red. This is not our opinion - it's a fact. Incisions need to stay out of the sun for about a year, and longer if they have not turned white. Once you sun them and turn them red, there is no going back. Only excising them and starting over will get rid of the red, sun damaged incision lines. If you will be in the sun post-operatively (we realize we all have lives and vacations happen), please make sure your suit covers your incisions completely. Depending on how far post-op you are, you should ask your plastic surgeon if you can put sunscreen on your incisions. Sunscreens are chemicals, and it may not be a good idea to put this on your incisions if you are newly post-op, so ask your plastic surgeon. Of course, exposing them to sun would be worse, so do ask your plastic surgeon as he or she might also be able recommend the brand they'd like you to use. Some people have even put surgical adhesive tape over their incisions. This might be a good alternative to the chemical aspects of sunscreen - provided the tape stays on. Again, ask your plastic surgeon.

In my opinion sisters and brothers.. that's what this forum is for. it's not all sunshine and roses.. we will have our moments and we should SHARE those moments.. it helps others. The main thing for me, while I was typing up my little rant.. was guilt. I remember in January before approval.. reading similar pity parties and thinking as someone who didn't know... "will I ever have this opportunity... I can't believe people are complaining.. I would give anything to be in there shoes..." and there I was.. being a complainer.. but don't get me wrong.. no regrets.. so, if there is anyone out there that read my whiny post.. keep in mind.. I'm still thankful, I'd do it again.. but there are emotional issues and physical aches and pains that go along with it.

Ok... Yup.. I was put on liquid antibiotics and I now have a raging case of both thrush and a yeast infection. Discuss this with your dr and he can prescribe the one dose pill for the south and a mouth swish for you mouth. Dose everyone get put on antibiotics after surgery? If so, I have a problem with them. I seem to always get a yeast infection, sorry so personal here but I want to make sure I have some monistat (sp) if needed.

that's the kewl thing about us pagans.. it can mean so MANY different things! Not one thing is right or wrong. There are some christian witches out there believe it or not.. then you get to.. what IS the definition of a witch....? Not all Wiccans are 'magic workers'. Then you come to the multifaceted definition of magic.. in a few words for me.. it's simple.. the manipulation of energy. I see prayer as a form of magic... it's def loaded with energy. I've been in churches that have given me goose bumps while they are singing because of all the energy being flinged around... it can be really cool. One reason I love the book Celestine Prophesy so much is that through fiction, it talks about energy and how everything and everyone is connected. nice short read.
