  1. I also stayed overnight, that is just how my surgeon does it. I could have stayed two nights if I had wanted to - I was self pay. There is a measure of control if you are in the hospital - and I was glad to be there.
  2. I am wondering why they are in such a rush to get you in. It concerns me that the nutrition was haphazard and that the counselor was so rushed. This is an important decision for you and it is great to be organized, but aren't most of the doctors booked out further than that? Sorry to be negative, but I am concerned about this as are you.
  3. I had my surgery in Mexico and would be happy to talk with you about my experience. Please message me if you have any questions that I can help with. I chose the band because I had less than 100 pounds to lose and liked that it was not as major a surgery and can be reversed.
  4. He was my doctor as well - I have been very pleased with him - are you happy as well?
  5. I am certain that you will feel one hundred percent better...
  6. Been there, done that, have that T shirt. Have you tried a little water to see if you can get what may be left to move through? I have also found when that happens that I need to walk around - for some reason that seems to help. If you cannot lie down, you should consider the ER - I am not a doctor, but that does not sound right.
  7. My coordinator had told me that when I woke up from surgery I would feel as though someone was sitting on my chest. It was not quite that bad, but it was close. I had quite a bit of gas that seemed to be in my chest, and it really hurt. Try to walk as much as you can, moving around really seemed to help. As others have said, be sure to call your doctor if anything gets worse or changes. Better to call than to not call when you needed to.
  8. Please do not worry about asking a question - that is what we are here for, to help each other. The fluids are tough because the band does not stop them, so it is hard to feel full. You should find - I did at least, that once I went to more solid food, I was no longer hungry and my stomach stopped that very annoying loud growl y thing. Are you getting enough Protein - the more you can get, the better. Take Care
  9. I am thinking that you may not want to do that so soon after surgery. I have been very cold since my surgery and you may have the same issue. Could you switch duty with someone for a month or so? Just a thought.
  10. Congrats - I am so glad to hear your good news. Before you know it, you will be on the other side of the surgery.
  11. This will be easier - I promise! They are checking to be sure that you understand the changes that will result from the surgery, that you have a support system in place and that you are mentally strong enough for the process and to follow the aftercare.
  12. Hello - Just found and joined the forum. I was banded in Cancun Mexico on Sept 24th. I am down a total of 34 pounds, including some weight lost pre op.
