  1. HAPPY and HEALTHY one ... and many more Happier and Healthier ones!!!!!!!!
  2. It is like asking how long it will take to drive 30 mi :-) It is a surgery. It should take about 40min. Mine took over 2h
  3. I am with you on not getting a fill while hunger is MIA and you are loosing weight. We only have +-11cc to 'play' with I just cancelled my first fill appointment for 3/31. I lost 11lb in 4 weeks post opp (not counting 9lb I gained the day of the surgery and lost after the surgery :-) 2.75lb per week is not HUGE, but I like it Also like you I am not hungry - and absolutely lovin' it !!!!
  4. Just had my first stuck episode... NOT a fan I have no fills but this piece of steamed broccoli just would not go down. Have to remember to Chew Chew Chew...
  5. The decision is YOURS no one else should persuade or even suggest if you you should or should not do it.
  6. I am week 4 and still can not take a poll... Head hunger came back after 2 weeks. Stomach hunger still mia.
  7. I work in NY and live in NJ Looking for a buddy bander either in Brooklyn NY or Middlesex County NJ. Would like to meet someone for mutual support and encouragement...
  8. Yep - she did mean 10lb a week. She told me if I loos less and have no fill I would cry and blame them. She is local fortune teller I guess hehe ...
  9. I am 15 days after surgery. Had my first post opp yesterday. They said I am doing good with weight loss. One of the people in the office (not RN not DR not Nut :-) said I HAVE to have a fill in 4 weeks unless I am loosing 10lb a week. ? I am turning to this forum to get YOUR PERSONAL experience please let me know if you would fill or not fill. Here is my stats: I am not hungry I have no restriction I stop eating after I ate my 1 cup of food (99% of the time - might change with the fill) I am choosing the right foods (99% of the time - will not change with the fill) I am 800-1000cal a day (60-80 Protein, 30-40 Fiber, etc all 'as doctor ordered') I lost 13lb pre-opp diet 2 weeks; gained 9lb day of surgery; lost that 9(water) plus additional 8lb in 2 weeks. Cost of my fills are free first 90 days post opp. And only $30 after 90 days. It is not a deal breaker for me - just an fyi So would you fill or not fill?
  10. I have a 'desk job' I had surgery Wednesday, home Thursday, work from home Friday, back to work Monday.
  11. I don't have your insurance. Not sure if what I did help. I asked my insurance for the document that lists all requirements I have to meet in order to be approved. It was a 25page doc - they gave me link to. Long article on what and why and how to live so I don't to not have to have the surgery and and half a page of what I have to have in order to be approved. That half a page had all you can exspect - BMI over 40 if no comorbities; psych eval; facility meeting some defined standards with the link to approved facilities, etc.... It also had a link to the form that doctor had to fill out. My insurance wanted THAT form in THAT format and no other format. Got approval in 30 min after rthey had all docs.
  12. I was told no baths , showers only, for 4 weeks post ops.
  13. I had a similar question. A lot of people who lost a LOT of weight look 'square' in the torso area. The younger you are the less effect extra weight should of had on 'spreading' your skeleton to support all the extra ponds and fat around the organs. Corset/girdle/shape ware can help I guess.... I only hope I will loos enough to worry about looking 'square' :-) Found pic on the web....
  14. Had surgery 3/2/11, I came home 3/3//11 9 lb heavier. It is all the fluids, from what I was told. I was back to my pre-surgery weight in a few days.
  15. I am just one week after banding... So relay don't know how I will react to the fills :-) But I remember from my meeting with doc before the surgery that I will have to be on liquids after each fill, then mooshies. Guess post fill diet directions vary as much as pre-opp/post-opp...
  16. All docs have different pre and post diets. Mine pre - op was 2 weeks of 50+protein; under 35 fat and carbs; under 1000cal. Liquids, sugar free Jello, pudding, and if very very hungry 1 cup of veggies. I was loving my veggies cup every day :-)
  17. Congratulations!!! I love reading positive posts like that - CONGRATULATIONS!!! And easy loss of the next 90 :-)
  18. Thank you for all replies!!! Looking forward to the old good regular days… just with less input and output :-)
  19. I was very very regular before the band. 2-3 times a day regular ... I did eat a lot :-) Now with the pre-op/post-op diets - it is all liquids for weeks now. I KNOW I don’t eat solids and it would make #2 a rear event or vanishing in my case. Just wondering when will #2 come back? Is it only after I switch to mushy foods?
  20. Rachel, If anyone will tell you that they were never worried or afraid prior to the surgery - they are either lying or should not pass the psych exam. Having or not having surgery is your decision – I would not tell you to cancel or not :-) But being worried and afraid is absolutely normal.
