Congrats...I'm waiting for approval from the ins. company. Can't wait to get this done. The longer I wait the more nervous I get. I'm starting to second guess myself...

Fingers crossed for January.....psych eval Thurs : )

@ Julians mom....thanks so much. I saw the nutritionist yesterday, it went really well. Wednesday is Psych and I'm just waiting for the scheduler @ the sleep apnea place to call me so we can schedule the test then I'm done with tests : ) any advice for the psych eval?? I'm kinda nervous I'll say something I shouldn't about food....like how much I LOVE it. But I'm soooo ready to change everything and do this. Tired of being fat and unhealthy. Any input is welcome. Thanks

I am also scared about after surgery...right now I eat just to eat and because I love food. I am also in the process of quitting smoking and I feel like oh no...no cigarettes, no junk food. This will be a life changing experience. All I know is I'm tired of being out of breath all the time from walking up one flight of stairs and not being able to look good in anything, no shopping with friends or family because their stores don't carry my size...it gets really old. I'm ready to live my life for me. : )

Congrats! Everything will go great. I'm still getting all my dr.s appts done to get cleared...wish I could fast forward time to get it done. Good luck

@ Julians mom....that's awesome I'm so happy people are starting to respond. So where did u go for ur psych/nutrition eval?? I'm having such a hard time finding someone my insurance will cover. I have NJ direct they emailed me a 5 page list of docs for the psych/nutrition eval and the list was so outdated, most were wrong numbers and the ones I reached weren't taking new patients...uugghhhh. Oh well ill start my search again tomorrow. I know dr. Goldstein works out of virtua voorhees but does he do his procedures @ any other hospitals?? I live in Burlington but after the seminar I liked him so much I don't care about driving to Voorhees.. Thanks again for the reply. : ) Jamie

Rebecca thanks so much for the info! He seems great and I can't find anything negative about him. I found out that dr. Deibler and Kelly are not in-network so id have to pay out of pocket : ( I've been searching for someome in network with no luck....I don't know what I'm gonna do I might just end up going and paying myself or asking my boyfriend if it can be my christmas present...lol. So you go Monday...that is awesome! You'll have to keep me updated. if u don't mind ill inbox you my email bc I'm sure ill have questions I meant to ask...btw I'm Jamie

Congrats! I have all appts. Scheduled....already had lab work and barrium swallow : / done. The more I get accomplished on my journey the more nervous I get....I keep second guessing myself...but @ 29 y/o and being overweight my entire adult life...trying every diet known to man...I hope this is what I need....what is ur pre op diet ??? I'm so glad I found someone else using dr goldstein : ) to relate to.

I would just bring it up in conversation casually this is something you decided to do before you met him. Better to know now if he's gonna be supportive.

I would definitely tell him. I was in the same situation and after I realized he loved me just the way I was....overweight or not it just seemed right. He is so supportive of me and having the support makes things so much easier.

I'm so glad you told me that I was starting to get overwhelmed by my "checklist"...wasn't sure how long the clearance took my other option told me like 3-6 months worth of classes and such....

Thank Dori good luck on getting your answer Tuesday. Just wondering how long was the process with Dr. Deibler and Kelly? There was another place recommended to me, which didn't take insurance and was 599.00 they said the process can be three to six months....I thought that was crazy. I have appointments set up for the other tests just waiting to hear back from Dr. Deibler on Monday. So how long did you work them to get clearance for the surgery?? Thanks

I'm very new to this...within the last month I have gone to my first seminar for Lapband and had my first consult with Dr. Adam Goldstein of Voorhees. Going through my checklist from him for all the tests that need to be done...Just wondering if anyone had any input on Dr. Goldstein or the Healthy Lifestyles Program he recommends for pre-surgery consults and testing. Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you so much...
