  1. I can use take shakes to work, its just not always convenient. I'm 3 weeks out and I like pure protein bars, choc/peanut butter and its 20 grams protein per bar. They're soft-ish....I mean chewy.
  2. I am newly banded and was throwing around the idea of protein bars b/c shakes really aren't convenient while I'm working. Any ideas or opinions....thanks : )
  3. Congrats Rick I was just banded 2/14. You'll do great : )
  4. So glad you're feeling better. I haven't had a fill yet so I couldn't really help. Good Luck
  5. I had really bad gas too and pain in my left shoulder blade. My surgery was on the 14th and the gas pains just let up yesterday and more so today. Apparently they pump your abdomen full of gas when they do the surgery and it just has to work its way out. Walking, heating pads and gas meds helped me a lot. I hear people on here all the time complaining of gas after surgery. As for the shoulder pain I think that's gas pockets that settle I know I had one settle right in the left shoulder blade. I was not happy Feel better soon : )
  6. Hey Gina I had the same issue my doc said if I wasn't smoke free he wouldn't touch me. I quit cold turkey on 12/14 and had my surgery 2/14. After the first few days I was fine and didn't look back. I REALLY wanted the band so I guess that's why. Good for you! Jamie
  7. I was banded on 2-14 and I'm really sore and gassy! I can't wait for this gas to go away : ) Good luck all

  20. Hey congrats on your decision. I went to the seminar 11/6 my first consult with the surgeon was 11/23 where I got my checkliist of things I had to do (primary doc clearance, cardiologist clearance, pulmonologist clearance, sleep study, psych eval, consult with nutritionist, barrium swallow, blood work, quit smoking) I was really overwhelmed at first but I was so gung-ho I completed everything by Christmas and was approved by Jan 5th. Went to sign papers and schedule my date with surgeon on the Jan 25th. My date if Valentines Day! I'm so excited I can't wait! Jamie
