feeling blue
Sorry it sucks. Don't bother with tailoring. FK it, just get rid of everything that doesn't fit, buy more, esp underwear-no droppy drawers! Buy pants that have a bit of elastic in them, to kinda hold ya together, jeans always feel good on.

Having a few bad days...
poor puppy, poor you. You might get anemic with all the cycles, like others, consider BC for a while.

Hospitalized
why would they suggest a conversion so soon? Awful early for that. I know they can fix Hernia's and treat strictures right? Feel better soon.

What did you tell your kids?
better to tell them and take chances they will tell (whatever they understand to) friends (who won't care) and teachers (who won't care, don't have time to digest the kid twisted story), but they will be confused and could come up with some other sort of crazy story in their own little heads about why you are eating soup. Keep it simple.

Help! 10months post op- 8month long plateau!!!
My surgery postponed. My thought is increase is to agree with another poster, increase calories, or at least ignore them, but reduce carbs to 20-30, don't worry about fat. too few calories and body is in starve mode. But first, have a day of high calories where you eat ice cream or something, then the next day, cut carbs, a jumpstart to make your body think famine is over.. only way i've ever ever lost is low-carbs and ignore fat, even before exercise.

Afraid and need advice
@Little Miss Diva: Band in a hat box in her closet! LOL! I kept the pins that fixed my shattered finger tip (till the box fell down and they got vacumed up!). Sleeve for me on Monday, the sight of that big ole foreign object in my body made me go to Sleeve. I thought about Band, for someone (You) who's Band is failing, I'd go for Sleeve. Good luck Hatbox! haahaa

lap band AND chronic pancreatitis
Soexcited, Your offended because you asked for advice and a person who answered your question said, "IF he is a drinker he should stop...". She did not ASSUME he was drinking, she said, "IF"... Then you tell her you to go to Mayo Clinic for information, which states Alcoholism (ie. drinking). can be a cause of Pancreatitis. Sounds like a educated guess to me. You asked for advice and gave a small amount of information about your husband, she is covering the bases that she thought might help you. Geez.

Does stomach acid production ever reduce?
I've read that when your stomach is reduced with Sleeve, you still make as much acid since the Proton Pump(?) is still there and doesn't realize the stomach itself is smaller. I understand you can take PPI's to help with that, but for how long? I don't want Esophageal cancer or other issues from excessive acid from not taking a PPI. I've always ran a bit acidy. I have read somewhere on the internet that with inhibition of stomach acid, your body produces more cells that make acid, so when you do get off PPI's (how much time IDK), your stomach makes even more. Even if that isn't totally true, I would expect some rebound. I've read by having stomach acid reduced, then bacteria in stomach can thrive, since the acid was killing it off (or something like that). That freaks me out. My surgery has been pumped for insurance stuff, and now is Monday the 28th (today is Friday with a busy working weekend ahead of me). Colette

The voices that hold you back.. part 1
I hear you. I get it. I do. I bet you DID look cute! Remember, Fat is just a thing. All these things you think are a issue are not you, just stuff in your field of vision. Lose weight, get surgery, whatever, but it is a thing, once fat is gone, will it be, age, hair color? It never ends.. I do renaissance festivals, many many BIG women out there, all loved, no problems with men or friends. All attitude. No matter your age, Go to fair, get a corset, find other fat chicks in corsets, be your own tribe! I have personally known people (just people, no descriptions of any thing else) that were insecure, myself included who after a season or two at fair feel so different about themselves. Such community there. It does not matter what you do in "real" life' how you are out there is all that matters. I just came back from a 3-day weekend at Sherwood Forest Fair in Texas and was talking to a friend who (is still big), who'd had Bypass. She's lost a insane amount and still going down. She was great at all sizes. Good luck babe-just a thing, nothing nothing to do with the real you (ignore those nasty chicks in the office too!)
