HAHA I just asked my mom the same thing!!! SHe said no because its liquid as well. You only need to do this with solids so that the food can last and won't be washed away. My mom was banded 3 years ago so I go to her for alot of advice. SHe has lost 95 pounds and is in a size 8. She is my inspiration and my support partner.

Well it has been a week since I have been banded and I must say it's not the way I thought it would be. I am starving!!!! I am sticking to the liquid diet like I should be but I am always hungry and I don't have any restriction. Is this normal??? Will I get the restriction I need once I get my fill?

  15. Thanks guys for the great words!
  16. I am 8 days on liquid diet and I have lost 11 pounds that's what keeps me going. Yes I will agree it will get easier at first I cried because I couldn't believe I got to this point where I had to do this but I got over it and am focused! I put my shake in a 2 liter bottle and mix it with a pack of crystle light that taste ok with a dash of lemon juice. I am on full liquids and I take like brocclli chedder soup and water it down and blend it then strain it add some season all no suger and some garlic powder and pepper just a little and it makes the world of difference. You have to think of it like its the soup from the olive garden or something. I do that with all my soups and broths. hope that helps.
  17. So today is my 7th day and I am 10 lbs. down! I am so happy I don't know what to do! I must admit I have had some hard times like Sat. My daughter had her 9th birthday party and wanted KFC so I had to make all these plates of chicken, mashed patatos and gravy and mac and cheese! That was super hard!!!! I just wanted a bite, but stayed strong and I am telling you that is saying alot for me! I have worked out 2 times and that is also something new! So I just wanted to share and yes it is hard when everyone around you is eating but for me, what make it easy is thinking about this oppertunity I have coming up and how happy I will be in the long run and being able to play with my 9year old and 3 year old for once! They need me I am a single parent and want to see them have babies and graduate and so on... OK that's all I am going to say for now..
  18. So today I started my 14 day pre op diet and I have saw post where people are blending everything. My Doctor told me to do stage 2 and keep it under 1,000 calories but I am not blending the food should I be? This morning I had egg beaters and fat free cottage cheese. For lunch I have light tuna and crackers and yogurt is this wrong? I am just doing what the book says and for dinner I am having baked fish and spinach and mushrooms. Should this stuff be blended even before the operation???
  19. Stay on the + side it's for the good. I am in the same boat. I get banded on the 14th of Dec. and I can't wait. Family is going to down you eather way it goes if your fat they got something to say if you loose they have something to say, so you need to do what's best for you. Lets stay in touch with one another I don't know about you but I am looking forward to all the support I can get. This is going to be life changing. I had a aunt tell me the other day that when I loose the weight that I was going to look like an old sagging bag! Then 2 days later she asked me for the 2 week pre op fast diet so that she can do it with me. LOL, so it's interesting, people don't like to see others succeed sometimes. Just stay focused and do what you need to do. I live with my mom. She was banded 3 years ago, if was the best thing that has happend to her. She was a size 22/24 now she is a 8. She will be my motavation partner, she is very supportive. Anyway good luck and can't wait to see you once the pounds shed!
