Starving!!!

Well it has been a week since I have been banded and I must say it's not the way I thought it would be. I am starving!!!! I am sticking to the liquid diet like I should be but I am always hungry and I don't have any restriction. Is this normal??? Will I get the restriction I need once I get my fill?

Hang in there girl it is werth the wait. Times are hard I am not going to lie but I would never change my mind about getting the band.

Yes, I was starving 1 week post op too! I added soft boiled eggs and some soft foods like cottage cheese and non-fat refried beans for just one meal and it really helped. I had my 2 week checkup and he said everything was fine, to keep eating the mushy foods and try to stick to proteins first - be sure to include protein drinks, soups like tomato and french onion. Check with your doctor on starting a couple of mushy soft foods. I'm still hungry this week as well -- won't get a fill until January 15! So just trying to make good choices and limit portions.

Pray and be patient. You had this surgery for change but you must do your part. I had the surgery Dec. 10, 2010. I am not per say hungry but I think the mind and stomach play against one another. When you feel hungry are you hungry or is your mind saying boy im hungry. I try and feel my time working or thinking about other things. I eat my share of sugar free fruit bars they really help. How much have you lost thus far.

I weighed in yesterday and I have lost between 9-10lbs....

I'm excited and with results like this I care nothing about food or eating. I know the liquids get old but it's all worth it in the end....

Stay strong you can defeat this ugly monster named hungerB)

Hey,

I too got hungry after a few days...I had a scrambled egg and couldn't finish the whole egg...I then moved on to mashed potatoes and creamy soups...Once the swelling goes down from surgery you lose a lot of the restriction - I'm now being careful until my 1st fill which is tomorrow - YAY!

Good luck.
