Day 4 of post-op

Glad you are doing well. Good luck to you!
2. My band seems to tighten during TOM for me. I asked the nurse at the surgeon's office if she had heard of it before and she said no.

An Example For My Family

Good for you!! I too have an overweight daughter and her seeing my healthier eating habits and commitment to exercise will rub off on her so she can do the same thing!
5. Thanks for the encouragement Meekie!! This is really the first relapse that I've had since I had surgery 12/10. I'm back on track!! Thanks again!

6. getting back on the right track TODAY!!!

Progress takes some time...

You are making some great changes and doing a wonderful job! good luck to you!
9. I was wondering the same thing too so I decided to search the topic. My fills seem to kick in after about 1-2 weeks after. I think that why my doc schedules them out 2-4 weeks.

I dont want to work out! :(

You may just need to take an "off" day. When I overdo it, it makes me not want to continue. Space out your workouts until you get stonger and more fit. I find it helps for me.

Bad girl...bad bad girl

A month long vacation!! WOW! Take me with you!!

I have 6cc's in my band right now and I can pretty much eat anything. I have found since my last fill that bread is a no no for me. The cake didnt get stuck...perhaps it was because it was softened up a bit with the turtle tracks ice cream. I'm back on track as of today!!

Bad girl...bad bad girl

I have not been the best bandster this week...ugh! I have only excercised a total of 40 minutes and I have not been eating the best. I had cake and icecream last night. I know it wasn't the right choice, but lemme tell ya...it was DELICIOUS!! I'm up 7lbs since last week. I know it's just water retention because I havent been THAT bad!! I'm going to zumba tonight and I'm going to walk around the lake tomorrow and Saturday since we have a break in the heat. I'm getting back on track!!
13. No more bread for me!!

constant concern for progress

sometimes we have to sit back and evaluate what we have been doing thus far. Have you been journaling? This keeps me on track and helps me realize what I'm doing wrong. I was shocked at how much I was eating when I started. myfitnesspal is a wonderul tool for tracking food, exercise, water intake, protein...etc. Great job on starting an exercise routine, sometimes it takes a little while for workout results to kick in. I understand how you feel and I was right there with you a few months ago. I had to look at what I was/wasnt doing and it was eye opening. Good luck to you!!

First Fill

9lbs since 7/15 is awesome!! You are doing a great job! I went for a fill last week and they were pleased with my progress so far (way more that I was) The dr told me that some people wish to have lost this much (over 50lbs) in a year. I was banded 12/9/2010. Keep up the good work!

Keeping a Commitment to Yourself!

July 11, 2011

I think that if we deny ourselves then we are setting ourselves up for failure. At least you recognize that you have to get back on track and it seems you know the right way to do it. Don't beat yourself up too bad.

work

I totally understand what you are going through. It may be a good idea to step away from the scale for a while. Thats what I did. Not seeing the scale made me work harder to make sure the number was lower when I did see it again. You are doing a great job!!
20. great post Shonette! Thanks for sharing. I just had a fill last week which brought me up to 6cc's. I never thought I would need that much. I think I'm pretty much in the green zone now. The band is not a cure all...I have to do some work too. I'm glad you are feeling better! Sounds like you were going thru h***!!

set back!!!!ugh!!! i wanna scream!

Like Shonette said, you are in the early stages. When i was at that stage, I thought I should be further along. But I realized that I needed that time to learn new habits and get adjusted to having the band. Some people lose at a fast pace, some don't. I think I'm one that doesnt. I was banded 12/9/10 and I have lost 54lbs. My expectation was at least 10lbs per month. BUT, I have adopted healthier eating habits, eat much less, enjoy working out and can fit a size 14 pants and large shirt. All the things I just mentioned are lifestyle changes, not quick fixes. We are in this for the long haul so as hard as it may be, try to stop focusing so much on the scale. I did it too and it drove me nuts!! hang in there and GOOD LUCK!!

Checking in

The scale is the enemy sometimes! But I have to realize that it's not the only indicator of success. I have to tell my daughter to hide it from me sometimes... Good Luck to you!

DOWN 100!!!

Congratulations!! Awesome!!

Size 14's!!

Went to my favorite store (CATO) last week and bought some size 14 jean capris! Tried them on and they fit well...not to tight. After wearing them they loosened up alot! I cant believe it...SIZE 14!!! I also bought a blouse....large! It feels wonderful!! I have an appointment on Friday for another fill. I'm thinking I may not need one. I'm worried about being overfilled. Nothing gets stuck and I stay satisfied after eating for about 4 hours. Right now I have 5.75cc in my band. The hunger pains died down after the last fill. It didnt seem that way at first but about 2 weeks later I started feeling like my band had gotten tighter. I got on the scale this morning and it read 237!! 54lbs lost!! I'm still keeping up with my 4 workouts a week....I feel guilty if I don't go to the gym...I'm loving the way my body is changing for the better!
