  1. I eat anything I want to eat. I do eat raw carrots, chips, everything you mentioned, without any problems. That's the great thing about the sleeve. Certain foods won't go through the band, but we have a normal stomach, just a smaller one. I am past the losing stage though. Maybe they say not to eat chips if you are trying to lose weight.
  2. yes, I am pretty sure you have to get it online. You can get GNC unflavored whey protein. It's their own brand. It's basically the same thing.
  3. I was hungry on the clear liquid stage. Sorry, Stuck, the ghrelin does take a little while to leave the body. When I got hungry, I just drank more Protein and that took care of it. The protein bullets are not going to satisfy you because it's poor protein. You need whey protein. It's collegen protein. Go to the food forum and look for a page called something like "places to order samples" Or go to GNC and see if they will let you sample some different Proteins that you can tolerate to get you through this stage.
  4. I am going to watch Survivor and all my other favorite Thursday shows. Until then, does anyone want to talk? It's only 5:30 here on the Oregon coast, so I'll be around for almost 3 more hours. Anyone else not busy in another time zone? I'll leave the window open and wait for the door bell to ring!
  5. I would not call it phylem. It's more like thick spit. Your mouth just keeps filling up and you have to spit it out. It can go on for quite awhile.
  6. Maybe you could post a couple recipes after you try them out? I don't cook enough to buy a cook book, funny as that might sound. I don't like messing up the kitchen just for me.
  7. People say drinking something warm (especially in the morning)relaxes things inside. There are a lot of people who stayed on liquids longer and progressed through the food stages slower until things got easier. It will get better. It may just take you more time, but it will get better.
  8. whey Protein is so much better and easier to absorb than collegen. I've heard so many nutritionists and doctors say if you can't get protein any other way, it's the last recourse. I hate cottage cheese, but I would rather eat that than collegen protein, but each to their own. I bought unflavored whey protein from GNC when I was on my post op diet. It can be mixed in all sorts of stuff.
  9. There was definitely a time I could not say that. I sat home in front of the tv all the time and nothing interests me. There are so many advantages to being thinner!
  10. The pharmacist toldT me to take it with orange juice. I asked the doctor and he agreed.
  11. I was at my local support group last night and so many people were there who were all excited about getting the band surgery. I so wanted to tell them they were making a mistake. I am glad you'll be getting a revision! You'll lose all the weight you want to lose and the sleeve makes it quite easy!
  12. Diva! I am so happy to see you and I was so hoping you'd be able to get a revision some day. I am glad you are a chatter. You know I love the chat room! You can ask me anything about Dr. Aceves... I loved him and everyone there at the hospital. I had the most wonderful experience there and I wish I could go back just to visit everyone. Dr. Aceves is a fabulous surgeon. Welcome to sleevetalk! We need you here!
  13. I was just at my support group meeting and the nutritionist stressed the importance of one or two Protein Snacks. She said it is important to keep our metabolism going by constantly burning and digesting food. I forgot one of my favorite snacks are Protein Bars. They taste like candy to me and I figure they are better than candy because they have protein in them. I try to choose the ones that are high in protein and not carbs. Eating my three meals plus two snacks is what got me to goal. I don't count my evening snack of a SF Jello or sf popsicle as a snack either.
  14. I am lucky that my gym has tvs in front of every single cardio machine. I couldn't do it without that. I plan my exercise around what I want to watch on tv. That, and I do weight training. I love the muscles that have been built from that. Discovering Zumba has also been a nice change. It's so much fun and doesn't feel like exercise at all. It's a great work out though. You're so smart Lis to identify your issues and find other avenues to work through them. You will be happy wearing smaller clothes and looking in the mirror seeing a much smaller version of yourself. It's so wonderful for the self esteem. You will find other things to occupy your thoughts and plans that don't revolve around food now that you're feeling better. For me, it's been dancing. I started dance lessons in Sept. and the first thing I noticed is there are no fat women in the classes or at the dances. you'll figure out what interests you, and get that insight that you're looking for.
  15. I am sure Dr. Aceves has removed plenty of realize bands. He is very experienced, and you have nothing to worry about in his care.
  16. I am glad to hear you're doing better too! It always makes me so sad to read that people are having a rough recovery since I had it so easy. I am so glad to read that today you're feeling GREAT!
  17. You have raised some good points. It's hard to imagine with all the addictions there are to choose from, that men would choose to cheat on their wives because they need that much sex.
  18. I really like laughing cow cheese. I like the little wedges and I get the light. I really like the laughing cow baby bell and I get the light in those too. those are easier to eat, because the wedges are more of a spread. I eat them on Kellogs Multi grain crackers which are higher in Fiber than most crackers and pretty low calorie for crackers. They are little and I only eat about 5 of them, so really it's not that many carbs. I gave up on regular yogurt because of the carb count. Greek yogurt is so much lower in carbs and higher in Protein, it's a much better choice. I sometimes put Protein powder in it, or PB2 or any of my sf syrups, divinchi or (sp?) I think the other brand is Torrini. I get those at a restaurant supply company that we have here. They are what they put in all those fancy coffee drinks that I don't drink. I also snack on almonds a lot. There are 100 calorie packs of chocolate dusted almonds that I really like. I also eat string cheese and I like the colby/jack better than cheddar that comes in sticks. There is a low fat one.
  19. Collegen protein is made from boiled cow hide. That is what the protein bullets are made from. I guess if that's all you can stand, it is better than nothing. Myself, I wouldn't even try them.
  20. I really feel bad for those people too who are so excited about getting the band. I wish they would take the band off the market. The doctors are making a fortune off the fills and unfills and the band can completely ruin the stomach to the point that a person can't even get a sleeve later if they want to!
  21. I am so happy to read that you are feeling better! Now you should feel good enough to exercise, and I am telling everyone, that is what got me off anti depressants this last 6 years. In March it will be 6 years that I joined my gym. Before that, I was on one anti depressant or another for over 20 years.
  22. I went out to dinner for my son's birthday tonight, and I was amazed at how much I could eat. At 9 months out, I can eat quite a bit more than I could in the beginning. I still eat small portions, but if I want to, I can eat a lot more than I normally do.
  23. Dr. Aceves has done sleeve surgery on over half the people on this board. He is so great and so is his entire staff and the hospital where he does surgery. You get three nights in the hospital, one night in a very nice resort after you do all your tests at the hospital. They do an EKG, a chest xray, all sorts of blood work and you take all the test results and x ray home with you. You get picked up by a driver either at the San Diego airport or the Comfort Inn in San Diego and your entire experience will be wonderful. You'll have to call the number to the right of this screen to find out the price, but it's usually 9,000 or less.
  24. Sorry I missed you Tiffy. If anyone else wants to talk this evening, I will leave the window open for awhile.
  25. I love the BSN Lean dessert chocolate fudge pudding.
