  1. have you ever considered testosterone shots? I know my dad got them and said they made him feel better all around, and not just an increase in libido.
  2. There really isn't much for your husband to do at the hospital. I've heard that the food in the cafeteria is good and very reasonable. The tv stations are mostly in Spanish. There are a few stations in English. He can go for walks with you around the hospital. The neighborhood is safe. I walked all around for several blocks in my bathrobe! I ran into the anesthesiologist and he said "Hi" and called me by my name, which I thought was remarkable since he sees so many people and only saw me for about 20 minutes. There isn't all that much to do at the hotel either though. There is a nice pool there. The mall is pretty big. I took a cab there. My flight left San Diego at 1pm and I had plenty of time. They do leave at 7 am for the airport. We crossed the border very quickly. We crossed on a Saturday which Ernesto said was the busiest day to cross because everyone in Mexicali wants to go to Walmart!
  3. I didn't drink bottled Water that I can remember. You can't really drink Protein drinks in the hospital. The first 24 hours it's nothing by mouth. Then after that, you have what they bring you. You get apple juice, water, and broth. Honestly, half of this board has gone to Dr. Aceves and you have nothing to worry about.Vegas Angel has pretty much summed it up, but if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I would love to go back just to visit. That's how much I loved being there!
  4. I am going to open up the chat window if anyone wants to talk!
  5. It's Premier. It comes in a case of 24 and they are usually found in the pharmacy area. Hope you like it, cause you can't buy single ones.
  6. I would say you probably do need to exercise more. Are you tracking your calories and your carbs? Most people lose best when they keep their carbs at 30 grams or less per day.
  7. It seems the majority of us have hiatal hernias. Dr. Aceves fixes them as soon as he gets inside and sees it and there is no extra cost.
  8. I don't see any reason why you could not claim it on taxes. You have to bring a cashiers check, and you would have proof of how you got the cashiers check from a bank.
  9. I take protonix instead of nexium and I take the generic form of it. I get it for $10 for 60 pills. Protonix is every bit as good as nexium. The mups part is that they disolve but Protonix is a very tiny pill and easy to take.
  10. It's pretty normal to have some loose skin when you lose a lot of weight no matter how you lose it. Just keep telling them that you have made your decision, and that Weight Loss Surgery is your best option to lose the weight and keep it off, and if they don't want to support you in this decision, then you don't want to discuss the matter anymore.
  11. Send me your email address and I will send you an email I have saved with all of Dr. Aceves' credentials listed on it. It's quite impressive. Just send me a private message with your email address.
  12. You can quit the protein shakes as soon as you get to the mushy stage and if you're' getting adequate protein from those mushy meals. Some people ( like me) like the protein drinks, and we choose to keep using them to make sure we're getting plenty of protein, and because we think they taste pretty good.
  13. anna made a post that she is having a real problem with nausea so please keep her in your prayers until this passes. She is not able to travel home until this passes. I know Dr. Campos and Dr. Aceves will be able to make her well, but she's having a rough time of it right now.
  14. I am so sorry Anna. I know several people who have gone through this too. Everyone is different. I know you're anxious to go home, but you need to stay in the hospital. They know best how to help you. Just think, if you were in the U.S. you would be paying extra for the extra days in the hospital. Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos have much experience with this problem, and they will get it figured out and know when it's best for you to be able to travel. In the mean time, try to relax and do what they tell you to do. They know the right medication to help you. We are all praying for you!
  15. Premier is very popular on this board. I think Muscle Milk light tastes better. They are about the same price but the Premier does have 10 more grams of protein per carton.
  16. As far as I am concerned, Dr. Aceves is a great surgeon, and compared to the 20 or more grand you can pay in the United States, he is far cheaper as well.
  17. I am with you Heart. There are bunches of them that I like. There are plenty of times that I am just not in the mood to cook, and a protein drink is so easy, and they really hit the spot.
  18. Stuck I am glad to hear from you! I don't remember reading about how you liked it there in Mexicali. Did you have a nice experience there?
  19. Do you get the hot chocolate from that site and the protein bars from them too? How is their shipping? I could not find the hot chocolate there.
  20. There are a lot of people that have gone to him. He is a very good doctor, if you have insurance and can afford him.
  21. I'll ask Tiffy to eamail it to me.
  22. Well that makes sense then. I don't have excell. Can somebody just copy and paste it so we can see it. I am assuming that it's a comparison of bariatric advantage vitamins to other vitamins you can buy for less money.
  23. Tiff when I clicked on that, there was a bar graph but it didn't show anything on it. I couldn't make any sense of what that bar graph was for and it didn't mention any vitamins.
  24. so in a way, you could call it amputation of the stomach. And no, I don't think Alex is hoping we will forget about these links. He's done this for a reason, and it's my guess that it's because that doctor is paying more in advertising than the others.
  25. I am glad you didn't consider this major surgery. I did. Having 85% of my stomach cut off is a VERY Big deal to me. There are many possibilities for complications and I wanted to be in a facility capable of dealing with anything that might occur. Now we should get back to the topic of his thread. Why are other doctor's names being hyperlinked back to another doctor's facility??????
