  1. Best of Luck!
  2. Prayers from here! You ARE doing the best thing possible for your health!
  3. I have to go back to work tomorrow, I am a dispatcher and wear the same uniforms as the cops. So I go in my closet to get a uniform ready and I could not have imagined that the thing was going to fall off me. I know I have lost weight, but I really had not been able to see it. Well I am not sure what to do about tomorrow, go in plain clothes??? The uniform pants are not going to stay up! So then I had to find something to wear to an Anniversary dinner tonight and NOTHING in my closet fits! NOTHING, things that were tight before now hang on me. I started crying in the mirror because I could not see it before today. The days of baggy hoodie sweatshirt hiding are gone, shopping is in order!
  4. Why is it that guy get bigger bits and the girls end up losing their boobs????? HMMMMMM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
  5. I was just the opposite. I had watching what I hate for the months prior to surgery and I kept thinking the more I lose now, the less after surgery. I also wanted to improve my odds in surgery by being in the best nutritional shape for it as wall as shrinking my liver. I figured better to learn before hand new habits rather than struggling afterward.
  6. Sound like a dense liquid. Remember our new stomachs are adjusting and maybe it is too much at one time. Try halving it and see if sets better.
  7. Each day gets better! Keep ahead of your pain with you meds! Meaning take it on time,, when you get control of the pain the brian gets a chance to reset and the pain meds works better.
  8. I am cautious about who I strike up a conversation with also, a person who has never had a weight problem can be the least understanding as they never fought the fight. My relply to her after her statement would have been, " Right what ever works for YOU" and I would have left without buying a thing and followed up to GNC corporate with a letter!
  9. Have you tried Premier ready made protein shakes from Costco or Amazon?? They are by far the the smoothest protein shakes I have tried over any powder mix!
  10. Best of luck! I will be self pay I am sure.
  11. Costco sells generic otc prilosec and previcid at really decent prices.
  12. I fretted before my surgery who to to tell what, I found it all to draining. I decided to be straight forward with the folks who know me and work with me. As far as someone I might run into that does not know and chances are I really won't see them for a long time to come,,, I will just say hard work. The simple fact is I was fat and those around me know it, and that is what I should be embarrassed about. Helping ones self is never anything to be ashamed of!
  13. My largest incision has been the one the bugged from day one. The doc says there is a deep stitch in that one. I had been fine for about a week now, and then tonight I went to get up and it was sore again. I think it is the due to increased activity.
  14. Tiff, does insurance cover the girls??? I know the doc can get the tummy thing pushed through due to rashes and things, but the girls???
  15. No not now, I spent the first two weeks sleeping upright in the lazy boy so maybe I did not notice the laying down feeling? Also I have had 4 sections and a gallbladder out the old way so I guess all those loose feelings are familiar? I remember after my first csection feeling like everything was going to fall out when I stood up. It all does become normal feeling once again:) I am sure I do not have pancreatitus, as two of my co workers have had it and from what they described the pain was no where near that!
  16. Yes the sleeve is a tool but I have noticed some different things since the surgery. First let me say I lost 50 pounds pre op and it took from JAN to Nov to lose it. Now that I have been sleeved even when I don't see loss on the scale I see loss in my body. The week after my surgery I noticed it in the belly, even though I was losing pre op, after the surgery my belly fat changed and became Jello like and has gone down. I have lost a lot in my face, neck and shoulders since the surgery and this week I lost my boobs! I am going to have to find a new bra that holds things up. When I look down I see just loose shirt material where they used to stand out. So rememeber your body moves things around even if you don't see it on the scale. You should always keep in mind that your tool will not make you lose faster than if you were taking in 600 to 800 calories without it. The one great thing is, now you have the will power EVERY DAY that you did not have before the surgery. Before the surgery you could say screw it, I am hungry today and eat more, or splurge, now we cant even if we wanted to, there is just no room. With out the screw it days, you will lose more in the long run and KEEP IT OFF!
  17. Kelli, what was wrong that you had to go back? The pain let up after burping and gas ex, yet I still feel "something" right under my breast bone, like a stuck feeling with no food???? I am thinking maybe a little irritation as yesterday I did not feel well, and even had to lay down at one point. I am thinking now I may have picked up something from my Grandbabies who are visiting and their Mom got ill feeling last night about 6 hours after I felt bad yesterday. I am guessing it is all about feeling new sensations minus a stomach??? I have not vomited and I am able to get in my liquids today. I am going to take a second dose of my Prilosec tonight as well as some more Gas ex
  18. I don't have a lump now, and I cant remember earlier. Is the lump hot or protruding?
  19. I am not looking forward to anymore surgery, but I do think when I have my tummy tuck, I will have to get the girls replaced:)
  20. yep, that one on me is was sorest the longest and did not lay nice and flat like the rest. The Nurse at my post op visit explained that that particular incision has a very deep stitch in it and will take a bit longer too look and feel like the rest. Plus I think they moved that area around a lot more and pulled the tissues.
  21. What an AWESOME accomplishment! I know I still can't believe my weightloss. I debated buying some pajamas yesterday to the point I did not buy them because I just did not believe I would fit in to an xl even though I just bought that size in two sweatshirts last week. My mind still says "You wont fit into that". So the pJ's are still on the shelf at the store. I have to ease into to believing too!
  22. I guess constipation is a common problem. I have been taking a softener for 3 days now and no luck
  23. Congrats! I too had a hard time peeing afterward, I think it from the meds they give you to "dry" things up. Sorry you were so nauseous, did the meds for it ever kick in?
  24. Good coverage, but I am confused, what is slow about losing a hundred pounds in 6 months?
  25. Well you could cook a small turkey breast and potatoes and then you can just eat a small portion of it. I find it takes me a long time to eat just my little portion so spending the time with him having dinner may be a nice way to celebrate.
