Bad pain any time I eat

So you’re in your third week which generally is purée. Can you give us an idea of what you’ve been eating. Yes, some take longer to heal & therefore need to move through the stages more slowly so move back a stage for a few days. Like the purée you’ve eaten is still too thick for you yet. Try thinning them with water, stock, milk, etc. Some allowed foods can still be too heavy for our tummy yet & you may experience discomfort though I wouldn’t say pain as you’ve described. And yes, eating too quickly can cause again discomfort. You can even have the foamies if something is too heavy, coarse or you eat to quickly but you’ve haven’t experienced that. I’d still check with your surgeon or go to a hospital because you really shouldn’t be experiencing pain as strong as you’ve indicated.

    Bad Knees and excercise

All the above posters have shared many useful activities I have enjoyed that work. My latest has been to get a rowing machine from Amazon. There’s many kinds and price points. I picked a magnetic one so I’m quiet. I started dancing around with more upper body movements in my house during lockdowns. My son called it “flopping around “ but it worked and was a good starting point. I just did one or two songs every hour, short bursts.

yep - I think a lot of us how are a few years out can relate to this. I, too, thought I'd conquered all this. It's a lifelong battle.

    Bad Knees and excercise

At the beginning of my fitness journey, I joined a national chain gymnasium for a little over $10 per month. It rhymes with Janet Witness, and had a variety of low impact and muscle building machines to try out. Pushing towards 300 pounds, I had to work up the courage to be there but soon found that everyone was in their own little zone, paying me no mind. I took advantage of their membership benefit that allows one to meet with a trainer to plan a custom routine. Three years later, I am still a member of this gym and am grateful for the healthier lifestyle seeds that they helped me plant.

I, too, take water fitness classes. Anything in the water is easy on the joints.

    Pureed foods. Yuck!!

My program skipped pureed foods and went directly to soft proteins with the instructions to chew thoroughly. But your best bet for purees is blended soups. You can make a very flavorful soup and puree it, and it will still be tasty (as opposed to pureeing meat, which is gross). Bean soups and butternut squash bisque work well. You might also try a ricotta bake in that stage, which can be made by mixing a cup of ricotta and an egg, spreading this in a greased baking pan, and topping with a non-chunky marinara and some mozzarella and parmesan, and then baking at 350F until the cheese is nice and brown, maybe 30-45 minutes. As for protein drinks, you should plan to be supplementing with those for quite some time, at least several weeks. Some people can get what they need from food really early, but others need at least one protein shake a day for several months. You also might want some plain, unflavored protein powder to add to things like soup or smoothies to increase protein.

It’s so frustrating i wonder if for me something else is holding me back like pcos, I’ve had it my whole life. Im also curious if having the drastic weight loss pre surgery affected post surgery and has made it less significant. I’m just as lost and confused here but we’re lost and confused together! Have you tried asking about phentermine or another medication? Pre surgery mounjaro and phentermine really worked well for me.

    Buyers Remorse?

Oh wow. I wish I had a Whole Foods. Those would be perfect for me because it’s just myself and my hubby who also eats smaller portions. I need to actually go into the grocery store and look for something like that. I know that places are carrying more of the healthy options but I have been doing pickup and I don’t get the chance to really see what’s out there now.

Why do you think its you who should change ? Its not you saying these things. Its people who should know better. They are your beloved family after all. TBH I would have come back with something like - well if I am a pig what does that make you ? The big bad wolf ? I am older and have developed a thicker skin. I may be delusional but I always think that if someone is looking at me, its because I am gorgeous haha. I smile, flash my lashes and laugh. A woman stared at me for so long once, I went over and asked her was she waiting for my head to fall off. I know counselling is hard to get here but it would help you, it did me

    Chewing Gum

I chew gum. I'm 27 days post op. don't remember exactly when i decided i would try it. Probably at least a couple of weeks out. I'm never going to swallow it. Sometimes I just need to chew and have a taste in my mouth! Plus I quit smoking 3 weeks before surgery and still need it to help me curtail that too.
