Surgery for 70 year old female

Hello, I am 67 and just had the sleeve done on 10/9/19. I am too early in the process to share experiences because at this point I am only on full liquids. Pretty much constantly drinking and also making sure I get enough protein. First 2 days from surgery itself was a little rough but nothing unbearable. I had to stay in hospital an extra day because I could not get enough fluids because I was so sick from the anesthesia which is something I expected from previous anesthesia. I am 5 days post op and feel great. No pain. Just tender and sore from the procedure itself. Cant lift, pull, drag etc etc for several wks. Dont worry able the age thing, it's how you feel within your self of if you should have it or not. I have high B/P , high cholesterol, osteoarthritis, COPD (from smoking too many years). My BMI was around 36. Beginning of process I was 213lbs and day of surgery 197lbs. If I didn't have those other medical conditions I wouldn't have even been consisdered a candidate for the sleeve because of my BMI. Not seeing results yet, still getting rid of the tremendous amounts of IV fluids I received in the hospital. Extra fluids should be gone in a couple more days. I hope this is some useful informative thoughts for you.

    Pumpkin pie

https://blog.bariatriceating.com/2015/10/no-pie-pumpkin-pie/ Ingredients One 15-ounce can Libby's pumpkin purée ⅓ cup Truvia sugar replacer or ⅔ cup Splenda granulated ½ teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon ground ginger ¼ teaspoon ground cloves 2 large eggs One 12-ounce can evaporated milk Splenda sweetened whipped cream Instructions Preheat oven to 350° F. Mix the pumpkin, Truvia, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves in a large bowl. Beat in the eggs. Gradually stir in evaporated milk. Pour into glass or ceramic baking dish. Bake until knife inserted near the center comes out clean - this time can vary greatly depending on how big a baking dish you use. Cook until done, but if you use a pie plate, 25 to 40 minutes is a guide. Cool on wire rack, then either serve at room temperature or chill. Serve with whipped cream.

Surgery for 70 year old female

67 when I had surgery. 68 now. Best thing I could ever have done. Have lost well over 100#,and mobility has improved. Blood pressure better. Surgery has helped me a lot. I do go and have B12 shots once a month and biotin for hair loss and nails splitting. I do exercise daily and keep, track of everything I eat or drink. I watch, protein and fiber carefully.

    Support at Home

Yeah, I’m debating on whether to tell my in-laws or not because they are so judgmental about my weight, my job, my home...well pretty much everything. My husband, my kids, my parents, & my coworkers support my WLS decision. So the in-laws can say what they will, it probably won’t be positive, but whatever... the surgery is for me not them.

My mom is super supportive, she is all for it. My husband is supportive, but he would never consider it for himself, so sometimes I get the feeling he doesn't really like it. He's hoping this will help my fertility, so my getting surgery quite possibly will benefit him as well. The only thing I think I'll need to work on with him is having him not bring home so much junk food no matter how good his intentions are. One of my clients from my side business has expressed her disappointment in my choice and wants me to consider trying Weight Watchers again. As much as I adore her, I just had to let that judgement pass. Everyone else is kind of in the "If that's what you want to do" boat. We'll see if those people end up ghosting me or staying friends afterward. My best advice is to just know why you're doing it and not feel like you have to answer to anyone else. I think it's nearly impossible to change the mind of anti-surgery people, the best way is to show them you made the right choice by living your happiest, healthiest life! You'll do great!

Down from HW 303 to CW 264

I'm grateful for this tool but it has turned me off from food altogether. I think all the changes has lead by body to boycott me. I want nothing when I eat I feel instant nausea. I decided to work on hydration. So at nearly 6 weeks post-op I'm still on shakes and crystal light. Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Gained 6lbs overnight

fluffy you are scared straight. You obviously are not the same person you were at your peak weight. You went from one extreme to the other and now it seems you have no balance the other way. Nothing wrong with that you are motivated by the fear of going back. Im typically motivated by results but Ive said it dozens of times and will continue to do so. Didnt get this weight by eating a slice of cake on my birthday got this way because I had zero control and ate like every day was my birthday.

Im still the same person I was 100lbs ago. I want to eat the same foods I just hope the sleeve will keep the portion control in check which it has.
