    I'm sad VERY SAD!

I agree with lizonaplane. If you are early out not only do you have remorse because of the recovery process but your hormones are often going haywire for several months. I was able to eat almost anything by 6 months out and I did on occasion have treats. You will just find that you don’t really have as much desire for the higher calorie foods and when you do eat them you are able to eat a much smaller portion.

The worst part is the wait, really! I know it’s an odd thing to say but I LOVE that sedation. It is just the best sleep 😆 like when you’re a kid during summer, have been playing outside all day and when you go to bed you don’t even remember your head hitting the pillow before it’s lights out 😆 I totally look at it as a perk of having to undergo those things! Try to think of other things and then enjoy your awesome snooze 🤗😄

Bodies are weird. And exercise doesn't really cause you to lose weight. It's good for maintaining weight long term and it's essential for health, but 90% of weight loss is food choices. I would continue to track your eating and see how that goes but if you feel stuck, reach out to your medical team. It's such a struggle!

Sorry I was gone and didn't respond. I was on a staycation with my family for a few days. I don't know how it happened, but I dropped several pounds while I was gone. I'm mindful of what I eat. 60-80 oz of protein per day, less than 50g of carbs and less than 50g of fat per day. I also make sure I eat half a cup or less of food per meal and weigh my food if it's not something that can be measured via a measuring cup (I make sure not to go over 3-4 oz which is what I was told I can have). I didn't do any exercise while I was gone, so I really thought I gained weight. Again, I was stunned I lost weight.

    Working out after surgery

I don't work out at the gym, but I work out with a trainer doing bodyweight exercises, heavy weights, and all that fun stuff. It was 2 months for me - when I was first cleared for exercise I still couldn't lift more than 10 lbs, so I wasn't very motivated to do it until I was a little further out. I also wasn't supposed to do a lot of exercise (beyond walking) until I was eating at least 800-1000 calories/day consistently. And that took me a while. Honestly, between eating so little and just the natural time it takes to recover from what is a major surgery, 2 months was right for me. When I started back with the trainer, I went slow on weights and ab work until I was confident with my body being ready for it.

Thank you for that wonderful description. Yes the wait is stressful. I’m back now waiting for nurses to come in one at a time to do their part. Thank you so much. ❤️

Thank you… I’m actually looking forward to that “best nap of your life” feeling. Lol. I’m trying not to let my anxiety get to me … I’m sure the nurses are used to it and will be amazing. Headed there now. My check in is at 9:45 and procedure is at 11:15, so just a few more hours to get through. Thanks again. I really appreciate your kindness.

    July 2022 peeps!

Nothing wrong with looking forward to the future. However, as we all know, there will be some tough, trying days ahead, and regrets and confusion. Use this time as a time to reflect on the choices and changes you'll be making in the next few months. Then, use the possibility of plastic surgery as a motivator to put in the hard work following your surgery. You got this!

I’m scheduled for July 6th! I can’t believe it. I’m not focusing on losing weight per se but I am focusing on increasing my activity level so it won’t be a shocker for my body post op. I am eating whole foods and incorporating more protein but I am still allowing myself a few indulgences here and there, because, need I state the obvious? So far I have lost a few pounds but I’m mostly maintaining. I have worked my way up to an hour = 19 miles on my exercise bike every other day, I know that’s going to help me IMMENSELY post surgery.

Is there anyone having surgery in July

I'm scheduled for July7. I'm not required to start pre op diet until 2 weeks prior which will be low carb very low cal. I started on my own yesterday with low carb moderate calorie to get a jump on it. Would love to get the first 20 pounds behind me before surgery day.
