What's your best post op advice?

Your healing journey is unique, you’re going to be hungry, you’re going to mourn food, you’re going to realize you have to stick to the plan (no cheat days early on)…and you’re going to meet your goal in your own time.

I’m tall (5’11) and currently down almost 47lbs in 9.5 weeks 😊 starting weight 339, goal weight 199.

That is similar to what I started doing around 2 months post-op. Idk that it helped with loose skin, but it definitely seemed to help with weight loss. Also, I look toned and fit. I actually had a stranger on a plane the other day say I was “ripped” and asked if I do cross fit. The stranger also happened to be a very attractive man in my age group. Lol! Best NSV yet! 😊

I was a 6'3" guy with a quarter ton to lose when I had surgery and lost 40ish in the first month, then 20ish the next 3. Try not to compare with others as it can create problems for you and your mental attitude. Good luck, Tek

Trust the process. It’s so easy for those of us who have done the yo yo diets to worry that this won’t work for us but if we follow the plan it will. And you will lose weight at your own pace. Try not to compare your weight loss (or recovery for that matter) to others as it is very individualized. You got this!!

Thank you all for your input. I went to see the anaesthetist and asked him about my medication and he said that it should be fine to take my one tiny antidepressant each evening. I have chewable multivitamins that I can start taking after a week or so.

    Hit goal

I feel good. I also feel grateful to have had this available to me. It's so hard to believe that in seven months I've lost 110 lbs. It's just fantastic.

I’m just about to start the process with Kaiser so cal. Have an appointment with my PCP June 2nd to see what all I need to do. What other things pre op have you had to do? I’ve been trying to find someone else in so cal Kaiser but most are up north or out of state. Any info you can share would be great!!! Thanks!

    Skin removal surgery

Yes, I did in January. I had a tummy tuck, breast lift & augmentation and an arm lift. There was some pain post op, but only the first few days were rough. Yes, I have scars. They’ll fade over time and I’d take them any day over the loose flappy skin.
