Hi , So my surgery date is 30.August . Tomorrow I'm starting with my two week pre op diet - and hopefully it won't be too much of a struggle I'm from Sarajevo , Bosnia and Herzegovina Here it is not usual or common to do bariatric surgeries and I have no support system or community - hopefully I'll find support here [emoji4] I have been in this process for two years and it finally get to the end of it . Losing Hope

I started this process back in March. My insurance required 3 months of a supervised diet with my primary and she was a total pain in my ass, she rescheduled two of my appointments then took forever to get paperwork to my surgeons office despite me asking her to send it to my surgeon at the conclusion of my final appointment. Then the surgeons office had someone, who is "no longer there", that misplaced more of my paperwork so they had to request that stuff again too. Everywhere I looked the typical turn around time for approval with my insurance is about 3 working days, it's been a week and they're still reviewing it. They say it could take 15-30 days but I can feel free to call every day while waiting but the approval (or denial) letter would come via snail mail. I'm just starting to feel so discouraged. with this whole process.

DON'T GET DISCOURAGED! my hubby has been going through the motions since Oct 2018 and finally he has a surgery date 11 months later after countless of those needed specialists sign-offs, A1C issues, and an unrelated crappy prostate diagnosis... he's been through a LOT of BS to get to this point so stick with it and stay positive!

    13 yr since my surgery

Yup, I had my gastric 13 yrs ago. I was really good about staying on track for about 2 yrs. Starting weight was 500lbs. Current weight 300lbs. Prior to WLS I was told I wouldn't be able to have anymore children. To my surprise, a year and a half later and down 100+ lbs. Positive pregnancy test. Unfortunately soon after I got so busy with life, I stopped going to my checkups and have since moved out of the city I lived in and lost track if the bariatric doctor. I need and want to get back on track. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Doctor’s Appt Tomorrow But...

Hello! It’s currently midnight for me, and I have a doctor’s appt at 9 am for post-op. I can’t sleep and I think I’ve developed a cold. My ears hurt when I swallow, my nose is constantly either runny or stuffed, and my throat feels practically bruised. My head is a bit warm, and I’m unsure how much I’ll actually be able to sleep tonight. I’m super tired, but my body is aching so much, it’s hard to relax. I’m unsure if I’m allowed to cancel a post-op, honestly. Do I cancel and reschedule, or wait for my next post op (scheduled in 2 weeks)? It may seem silly to ask what I’m allowed, but I really don’t want to do the wrong thing. What should I do? Help!
