    Vsg

I have turned to this message board for a while and have gotten great info from a lot of you, so now I want to encourage others. VSG on 3-14-18, have lost 105 since. By far the best thing I could have done for me and my family.

    Worried About Water

It's different for everyone. I was able to get my water in on day 3 of my surgery. I took small sips, but I got it all in. No. I'm not always thirsty. I drink fairly normally now; I don't sip anymore, and I haven't for a while. I'm 8 months post-op. You'll be fine!

Oh yes, you will be fine. It’s only in the beginning that you will take sips...I was drinking gulps at about 1.5 weeks...I don’t think you’ll be able to drink 22 oz in one shot but you will be able to drink enough so you’re not walking around thirsty....I’m never thirsty because I always keep water with me. It’s the solid food stage is when you will feel restriction and can only eat small amounts which is awesome!! Water just goes right through you and as time passes the more you will be able to gulp 👍🏾 I wish you all the best!

    It’s Go Time!!

Currently sitting in my pre-op room getting ready to have surgery. Ready to get on to the next stage and better my heath. Anyone else having/had surgery today?

I'm right there with@KatFight. I was prepared for a horrible amount of pain, but had very little, as it relates to the surgery (because of the fibromyalgia). I was fortunate as I "only had the gas pain". I walked around the hospital all night the first night and it helped. I also used the pain pump the first night...probably more than I needed because I thought the pain would be unbearable. Best of luck to you! Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Worried About Water

J@Alabama: Thank you for sharing that. Does your doctor have any idea why you still can’t drink much? KT1981: You give me hope!! Thank you all for your responses...I guess I’ll just hope for the best, but at least I know I won’t be alone if that doesn’t happen. Thanks again.

    Hair Loss

LLysine is an amino acid and it was used in alopecia (male pattern baldness) clinical studies but also showed promising results in regards to Telogen Effluvium. Google the research and decided if its right for you. I took the standard dosage recommended on the jar. Safe Journey!

    Worried About Water

I obviously can't speak for everyone but I'm pretty much thirsty all the time now. I used to drink 100 oz easily before surgery, now I struggle to get my required 64 oz. My mouth/head craves ice cold water but my stomach says nope. It always cramps when I drink cold water. The lukewarm water and hot beverages go down easier but my mouth is not satisfied with that. Who wants to drink lukewarm water after a work out? I'm almost 2 months out and am still experiencing this. Sent from my SM-G960U using BariatricPal mobile app

I had my procedure back in 2/17 and also suffer with Fibro. I don't recall having any issues related to it. In fact, now that I've lost weight, I've noticed a reduction in my symptoms. I understand your concern and you should listen to your surgeon, but in my experience, I believe you'll be ok. Best of luck to you.

That's so awesome! I got the surgery because i was type 2 diabetic, getting high blood pressure and cholesterol. I reversed all of it just months after surgery. Best decision of my life. I wasnt this small in jr high school or elementary lol. I haven't exercised much at all. Really just a lot of walking. I want to hit the gym but trying to find time, money and motivation is hard so i try to get in as much activity as possible. I work retail so i'm on my feet all the time and running around for hours. Still managed to gain a bunch back. That's why i'm going back to basics. Cant afford to gain anything else. Not buying anymore larges lol. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
