    Merry Christmas! ;)

@fluffychick This is great. I also try to say no then provide some type of assistance similar to the last bullet (ex. I can't, but can I suggest some people who might be able to help you? or I can't now, but will have time [fill in the blank: next week, month, year, etc or would you like to strategize on how you can best manage your time to accomplish this (ha!)...)

You have your answer. Cut the carbs, track your food. Weigh, measure, and eat appropriately. Quit filling up on empty carbs. It's very simple. The docs know and prescribe as they do because they know what works. Dense FILLING protein first, low glycemic veg next, healthy fats (not too much), and a tiny bit of fruit or IF necessary, a bite or two of carbs at the very last.

    Thanksgiving

I think you have to do what’s right for you. If staying away from thanksgiving altogether this year is best, then do that. You need to be a little selfish and take care of you : )

    Vitamins & water intake

Generally immediately post op you are told no pills bigger than an m&m...i think my nutritionist gave an ok for larger pills around 1 month out. Also as you move farther from surgery you can drink more normally, not just tiny sips. I personally would consider a small drink to take pills/vitamins with food ok...just not having a full on drink with the meal. Alternatively you could possibly take the vitamins 30 min or so after the meal-when it is ok to drink again, but you still have some food in your stomach.

Sizing is so weird! I've lost 177 pounds, so you think I would be down a ton of sizes right? Not really. I started at a 4x shirt, and I'm now in a 2x shirt. Pants, I was in 32s and I'm now in 26s (3 sizes down). I'm keeping at it though. You've got this! Also, I see the original post was a couple of months ago; how are things going now?

    ? for people with Reflux

I had it for about 15 years prior to the surgery. It has improved somewhat since the surgery (I’m able to take generic omeprazole and the symptoms are improved).

I did the UIC program. They were great! 3 years out next month. Southern suburbs.
