    Best Tools

KISS. No need for special tools, special bowls/plates/utensils, etc. You will outgrow them quicker than you think. I track everything still in MFP (food, water, exercise, poops, BP, BGs. LOL. I use a digital scale daily and stainless measuring cups/spoons daily. I use a saucer/bread plate for meals and regular salad forks and coffee spoons for food. Beyond that--that's it.

Digital food scale is the only thing I use for tools. I also use MFP. I have a slow cooker but I’m buying an Instant Pot on Black Friday for myself!

How many ounces at 2 months?

At 2 months post-op how many ounces were you able to eat, I can eat 8 ounces before I feel full, I know that everyone is different but does this seem to be to much? Thinks!! Sent from my SM-J727VPP using BariatricPal mobile app

    Carbs

My surgeon said less than 100 grams daily, but that less than 50 grams was best if I was able to cut them that far. I average between 30 - 65 or so. Less than 100 is very doable with no bread, pasta, rice, candy, etc. 😂

Here's a food log of mine from 3.21.18. I was 4 weeks + 1 day Post Op. It "is" possible to get 60g of protein in for around 450ish cals/day. I did it quit often in the early days. But it takes some real strategy. Part 1 (click to enlarge) Part 2 (click to enlarge)

    Is anyone else feeling down?

You are completely normal. You just try to do your best but don't beat yourself up if you can't. Someone suggested popsicles and that is a great idea!

    Is anyone else feeling down?

I was there! I was actually not doing so hot when I left the hospital in my intake and it went back down. Then I increased but now have gone down again. Your body is changing ! Be kind to yourself and to it 💖 it will definitely thank you later. If you go a week more like that maybe call the hospital backto see if you can meet with the dietitian or speak with someone over the phone. Hang in there I know it's tough, I'm still navigating the highs and lows and I'm 3 weeks post op Xo

Low Carb/Fasting 14 yrs post op?

@erinlyle if you had the traditional DS, I don't really know anyone who fasts. What we do is eat. More protein and more liquid. I agree with lowering the carbs. That will definitely help with the weight loss. But having the DS was a way to stay away from things like fasting and dieting. Also, you need to keep the protein going for energy and to keep your gastric system eliminating waste.
