    Weight Loss After Surgery

"Stalls" suck, just understand that we really want to worry about fat loss, I know it's called "Weight Loss Surgery" but really it should be called "Fat Loss Surgery" since we don't want to just lose *any* weight, we want that weight to be from fat and not muscle or bone density. Keep up on the water, current medical research shows that working towards 128 oz of water a day is optimal for both proper hydration AND fat processing. When you stall, if you are not tracking body fat %'s, focus on things like, how your rings and clothing are fitting, you could be losing fat and not losing "weight", there were so many days where my poundage wouldn't move or would climb, but my body fat % would decrease. So you can be losing fat and not losing weight. Just something to be aware of.

Yeah, there are some things that we will learn the hard way, unfortunately.

    Anyone repulsed by sugar now?

I had surgery 10/22. I used to drink the Vitamin water zero, but now find them too sweet. Unsweetened applesauce is my sweetness limit so far. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

We have the best intentions to stock up and prepare before surgery, but learn from my mistake and don't buy too much. I found Premier Protein the most palatable, I bought a metric shiz-ton of it, and now I have to hope that I can return it because your tastes change and I can't stomach it. Many people like Premier Protein, especially when mixed in coffee. I've been making my own with Greek yogurt and Fairlife milk. Fairlife milk is really helpful to have on hand, it has more protein and less sugar than regular milk, it is lactose-free and it tastes like regular milk. I've been using it to thin out other products that are too sweet and to use instead of water to give things a protein boost.

They are SUPER controversial due to lack of "proper" studies, but after discussing them with EVERYONE on my medical team, I was approved and they have been working quite well (for me). I'm using PatchMD patches, which yes, are the ones BP sells in their store.

I have been lucky. I was sleeved on the 8th. I am lucky and so far like or can tolerate everything i am drinking. However as wierd as it sounds the only protein shake that taste wierd to me.. is the chocolate one LOL.. Of all of the flavors i am drinking the chocolate is the worst, cookies and cream is second worst. I am hoping i did not lose my love for chocolate LOL.

    The Dreaded Holidays

I was going to my aunt's and told her about my surgery, thought everything would be cool. Just found out we are going to my cousin's house with her. I barely know him and his wife and there will be 16 people there. Hope no one notices me pushing food around on my plate and not eating it. Maybe they have a dog?
