    14 days post op

So true. I just have to keep my eyes on the road ahead and remember my goal. Ugh is it difficult though. They literally have cake at my work like EVERY DAY. I'm not even exaggerating. I think they have connections with a party catering company or something with the amount of cake people buy there. I don't even understand how they can afford to buy cake every week, lol. So, today at our meeting, CAKE AGAIN. Thankfully I wasn't alone in not partaking because there was a vegan in the meeting as well but man. One lady actually brought a toaster oven and baked cookies in the building one time. I'm like. T.T It will be worth it though and nothing worth doing was ever easy. One of my co-workers was very sweet in sympathizing with me and said they would bring me sugar free jello, lol.

    Awful complications

So I had rny at the end of July. I was eating around 700 calories a day and working to get my water in. About 2 weeks ago I began getting nauseous and vomiting after eating and was only getting around 300 a day. My surgeon did another EGD on Friday 9/21, enlarged a stricture a found a large ulcer. I felt much better over the weekend then early Monday morning I began vomitting large blood clots! My surgeon sent me to ER and I was in ICU for a day and a regular room all week long. I guess the ulcer eroded a vessel that needed clipped and I’ve been without food for the last week. I hope to go home tomorrow, I’ll be back on clear liquids and go through the progressive steps all over again. Not eating or drinking ANYTHING is really rough, especially while lying in the hospital and watching TV all day! Dr says ulcers like mine are rare but a potential complication. Lucky me, I’ll be on a gastric acid inhibitor for life. NBD, I just want to go home!

That sucks. Sadly I can't say that I've experienced the same thing. Did they do any surgery to your diaphragm? Any hernia repair?

    Swelling?

Hot air from the Ohio Statehouse, they sure generate enough in Columbus! Seriously I think they inflated and then pumped it out at the end. Weird, when I got to my patient room, I expected to be FATTENED UP, I was not. I expected ABD and such, nope 4 criss cross steristrips , 1 in top of navel, 1 lengthwise steriStrip 7/8 inch, long on right, Big Red the main one, RNY are on the right, sleevers on the left because that is where they pull the stomach remnant out. Anyway he had 5 up and down steri-strips on him. And 1 little one at the bottom of my sternum. But all small critters. Hardly any swelling/bruising on them.Barely slashed, barely gashed and no signs of bashed. My guy does quality work!

2-3 days post op... still sick

Also ask for a scopolamine patch for the nausea. Stops it dead in its tracks.

Did the hospital give you zofran? That should help with the nausea. While I was in the hospital I didn't drink much either, I kept trying just so I could get discharged to go home. And once I was home I felt much better because I was in my own house.

    Pre -op and Nervous

Hi guys! Yes I backed out literally last minute the first time around. I had so many hang ups about what I was about to do. I assure you it will be the best decision you could make for your future and those that love you. My very first video explains my issues in detail. Good luck and hope to see you on the losers bench!

    PSA: don’t freeze Premier!!

So I’m on my 2 week preop liquid diet and we decided to go camping this weekend. (Which was its own brand of hell in itself). I decided to freeze a couple bottles of Premier so they could naturally thaw in the cooler Saturday and be cold for today (Sun). Oh man, it did some weird separation in the thawing process and ended up being chunky. So not only did I have to endure my family enjoying grilled hamburgers, corn on the cob, and s’mores around the campfire, I had to choke down chunky peach premier.
