I am enjoying a yogurt smoothie, and will be enjoying some tomato soup for lunch! I never thought I would be so excited for these food items, but I am!!! I read my post-op handbook three times just to make sure I was allowed to eat this week. Just thought I would share my excitement!

I know everyone looses differently, but I'm just curious...My 6mo is coming up on March 2nd and as of today I am down 53 pounds from day of surgery. I know I could have lost a lot more if I ate better and exercised! I am still proud of myself and feel great

    Tomorrow Is The Big Day!

Boy, time sure did fly! I submitted to insurance on 1/18 and was approved 1/20. Surgery is tomorrow at 9:15am! I have to stay the night because my doctor requires it, so what did you guys pack to make the time go faster? Books? Cards? Computer? Any advice on what to expect right before and right after surgery? I'm so excited!

How Long Does A "stuck" Last?

Cocobean, i didn't have food stuck that long but everytime I ate something even if is was just some soggy eggs, it got stuck. it didn't go down and i had to go cough it up. so i had to do liquids for that extra month or so. i too had a hernia repair and my doctor said that was part of the problem. once the swelling went down from that i guess, i was all good then. bread is a no no, i have found that i can eat it toasted with a little butter though. and i sure do miss it. I am 7 months post opt and i can't tell you how good i feel. I lost 33 pounds, so far. i haven't had any fills or adjustments. sometimes i still have the stuck stuff, like the other day i was eating somethning and i had to stop and go cough it up because it wouldn't go down but the key here is to chew, chew, chew,. no drinking while u eat. if i don't do anything else right i got that part locked down. well good luck with everything.

    March Bandsters!

kcdaddy3, I am also seeing Dr. Malley. My surgery is scheduled for 3/8 which is going to be an awesome birthday present to myself as well as my birhthday is 3/9. I start my liquid diet on Thursday and have my pre-op on Friday. I am a little nervous about the liquid diet though.

feel that at 199 is isn't as hard to lose weight as if u are 250-plus as someone 199 pounds. People can move easier, there for lose weight. I'm at 194 and very happy. I wouldn't never get the surgery at this weight, it is a life changing and it has risks. But even with 190's I am still big and unhealthy weight, I feel I can do this.. lose this weight, so that's why i can say I wouldn't get this surgery at this weight, b/c I'm there 194. feel that at 199 is itsn't as hard to lose weight as if u are 250-plus as someone 199 pounds.
